We Got It Banked!

Hello lovelies!

I think it's safe to say that the worst is over. And by that, I mean the business plan for the school. :)
Today, we were selling our business idea with the bank, and they liked our thoughts, so, we got a loan for starting our learning company. Of course, it's not about real money, we're just sort of playing. But anyways. I feel our group really accomplished something, and I'm so proud of every single person in our group. Yay! Go team! :) We did it!

So, this means, I can maybe finally relax a bit mentally.

Another thing: I really want to thank all you lovely people for commenting and supporting me with getting started with my own blog. You're all unbelievable, honestly. I wish I can be support to at least one person out there, so that others can have the same feeling as I do know. Of course, I try to be supporting anyone who takes the time to write a comment to me.

That is, when I have time to really focus on reading blogs and writing comments. ;)

I'm waiting to share the "business look" I wore today with you, but it might be that I can't do that before Sunday because of my schedules. Also, tomorrow there's an exciting post coming up. I'll tell you something about my favourite band from Finland. So stay tuned for the music piece tomorrow! ;)

Lastly, I thought I'd show you...

I used Depend - shade nr. 35, neon yellow. Funny thing is, this nail polish looks very different in different light... Sometimes neon, sometimes just bright. :D Crazy. Yet, it's kinda fun.

So, that's all for today, and tomorrow, like I said about three times already, is time for a music post. :)

Blog ya later,

Basics On Creating Your Own Personal Style (part 3)

Hi darlings,

Today I wanted to continue the style basics series with sharing my thoughts on what is great to have in your closet. This probably doesn't differ too much from what you'd see on all the fashion magazines, but I thought I'd collect here pictures of ideal pieces (in my opinion, of course). Some of them are from my closet, others are simply pics took from the internet since I don't have as fabulous pieces on my wardrobe :)

The Wardrobe Essentials

1. Little black dress. Of course this is too much of a classic, but I love a great black dress as much as anyone. I'd prefer one that can be worn both in parties and in casual occations. I picked this Dolce & Gabbana as an ideal example. (Not a big surprise it's worn by Blake Lively? :D)

Photobucket

(This photo is courtesy of someone else, I just borrowed it from Google)

2. Two or three pairs of good trousers. (For me, this means jeans :D) But any great, fitting trousers will do. They are essential for creating outfits. If you don't have a favourite cut on the trousers, find ones that have a cut that compliment your body. I personally love skinny jeans, although my favourite pair is kinda wide-cut, worn till they've gotten broken and pretty far away from what I call a stylish pair :D I chose here three pairs of my fave jeans (I probably have like 13 pairs).

Photobucket

3. Basic tops. (In three colours, or more) Find a cut that compliments you, I love both spaghetti straps and tank tops, although, if I had to choose just one cut, I'd choose the tank tops :) These basic tops can have a twist in them, they don't have to be one-coloured. For an example, I chose some basics from my wardrobe.

Photobucket

4. One more formal shirt. Yes, this doesn't only go for the men, I think every woman can look good in a collar shirt. My choice would be a basic white one, but you can choose any colour you feel comfortable in. This piece can easily be paired with jeans, skirt, trousers... even with shorts. Great for a job interview. ;)

5. Basic skirt. Or two. Again, find your look, I prefer pencil skirts at the moment, in the Summer I like to wear bit more flowing fabrics and cuts. Here's examples from my closet. (I love leather skirts!)

Photobucket

6. A fitting jacket for every season. I don't think this even needs explanations, but... It's important to always stay warm, but who said you can't look stylish all the same. My favourites are leather (yeah, the fake ones too) jackets, but I also love bright-coloured trenches and wool jackets.

Photobucket

7. A couple of neat knits. I love knits! Knits are great when you can combine them with almost anything. As for this Autumn, you should invest on a statement knit. Personally, I love kinda light knits, but of course sometimes it's nice to have thick and warm woolly knit. Again, I'll give examples out of my closet.

Photobucket

8. A good pair of shorts. For the warm weather, this is more must than skirt if you ask me :) I'm a true shorts girl, I love to pair them up with knits, tops, tunics, anything... And throw them over leggings at Autumn. Here a couple picks from my closet.

Photobucket

9. Perfect underwear. Not going to put any pictures for this, but I strongly recommend you to visit following post on the awesome blog HiFashion: Wonderbra's Top Tips. I really feel it'll tell you anything and everything you'll need for buying the perfect lingerie.

10. One colourful dress. Because sometimes, black is just too black. Try out for example some metallic colour, pastels, or maybe some bright one. My picks include a bright green treasure I have sewn myself, and later modified it with adding the white lace.

Photobucket

11. Leggings and tights in few colours. These two can make the whole outfit completely different, and they can help you wear your favourite outfits even when it gets cold outside. My favourites are leather, torn-look, and lace ones at the moment (when it comes to leggings). In tights, I like either the nude ones (shimmery, always, never matte), or then straightforward statement ones (like knit-looking).

12. Swimsuit that compliments your body. I've always been a bikini girl, but this year I've found a strong pull towards cut-out swimsuits. But if you are a bikini girl, buy pieces you can mix and match. That way, if you have for example two different bikinis, you can match them four different ways. Neat, right?

With these pieces, I feel you'll get a good start with your wardrobe. Probably most of you already have your opinion what is crucial to have in your wardrobe, and I've probably forgotten many vital points. But I make a promise to edit this post if I realize something very important is missing ;)

I hope this is a helpful post to someone. I just wrote this to collect thoughts, but if it at the same time gives someone a great feeling of learning something, I'm more than happy.

Next time I continue with this series, I'll talk about....

Shoes!

So stay tuned for that ;)

Tell Me About Yourself Award

My first ever award for blogging! Yay! Thank you so much MissCrys for awarding me, I still can't believe you did :') You're amazing, girl!

It's a great honour to get awarded by another blogger, you really get the feeling of doing something right with your blogging. I could really talk about my feelings on this for days, but it's better I just get on with the task that comes with the award.

I must tell seven things about myself, let's see what I can tell...

1. I live in Tampere, Finland. It's not a really big town, you can check it from Google.
2. Although I'm Finnish, I read 90% of the book in English.
3. I love music and singing, and would love to be better in it.
4. My favourite colours are pink and lime, though it seems that I always change my opinion on that.
5. I love to wear my boyfriend's shirts when spending the whole day home.
6. I have a passion for drawing, and feel bad for not having the time for it nowadays.
7. I love all the animals. I have had two dogs and a tortoise, and would love to have two or three dogs now, but unfortunately can't take any animal at the moment.

So, that's what I came up with. Next, I wanna pass this award to others:

Congratulations, honeys!
I hope this makes you as happy as it made me :)

Of course, I would like to know more about everyone who visits my blog. That's why I try to have the time to check every profile behind a comment. ;)

This is all I have time for now, but thanks again Crys! You're a lovely person, and I appreciate this award very much <3

Blog ya later, darlings!

Pink Panther - well, sort of...

Hey lovelies,

A short post today... I've been stressing the whole day about all the school things, but thank God it's going to get easier after this week. (Well, okay, then come the exams, but still...) Luckily, I'll see an old friend on Friday, and get to go to coffee with her. And then the whole weekend goes in my boyfriend's hometown, so that's cool too. :) That's what I've been up to today, What's going on in your lifes?

And this is what I wore today: (and will wear tomorrow as well)

Top: H&M, (top underneath: GinaTricot - you can see a smallest glimpse in some photo...), Belt: Pieces, Jeans: H&M, Boots: Andiamo, Bracelet: GinaTricot.

I loved the pattern on the H&M top at the first sight, and even though there was only too big sizes left, I thought the cut would be so forgiving - at least with a belt, that it wouldn't matter. It turns out I was right. Right? The leopard print in the shirt is fun because it's not too obvious. I thought it'd show better with the blue top underneath, but it didn't. Too bad.

I know I've told already kinda much about those boots, but just a little more: When I bought those, at the same time, my friend bought a similar pair - in black though. Why is it even worth telling? Because we didn't really know that the other one was buying them. (Yeah, I've got lots of memories in one pair of old boots... You don't even know ;D)

Anyways, better stop before I start blabbering about things that don't matter. Did I tell you I was as much of a cliché machine today at school that people kinda laughed at me? So that kind of Monday... :D But now, I'll go get some sleep, and I'll be posting a short one tomorrow too as I have something really fun to tell you. ;)

Blog ya later,

Little star.

Heya everyone,

Have you all had nice weekend? I know I have ;)

I got the chance to visit this big sales event called Megasale this weekend. I thought I'd take pictures for you all, but... I was too disappointed of the whole event that I didn't bother. I mean, I know it's not anything comparable with going to a stylish mall, but still. It was built in a kind of sports hall, all the stands were grey and uninspiring, and all the clothes and shoes and bags just kinda hung there.

I felt bad for the items, if that's anywhere near to sane to say like that. I may be growing to a demanding shopper (It's about time, I can imagine my dear mom cheering for this... <3), but I just can't buy from a place where the display is forgotten or messed up :D

So, me and my fiancé headed for a big mall, Ideapark, instead. And well, from there I actually found something. Not much, not with my salary at the moment, but still ;)

Anyways, I've been mostly just hanging out since the week has been pretty much to handle. I've cooked nice food and played some NHL with my man, and that's about it. And well, couldn't avoid school stuff even on the weekend... I'm really waiting for our "independent studies" week. I'll just read books, have a cleanse and relax.

But enough of the blabber, I'll move on to the style things.

Here's what I wore today:

Shirt: Someone's old, I think (like my cousin's), Jacket: H&M, Skirt: Rosebullet (SpiritStore), Boots: Kenkä Cosmos, Necklace: I'd say it's H&M, but can't quite remember, and the same goes with the Bracelet. They're both already kinda old favourites so I can't remember. Just know that neither one was expensive. ;)

A couple close-ups on my make-up. I got a brilliant idea of drawing a star near my eye, as I had seen something like that on someone else's face. I kinda liked it. :) (actually, I tried that yesterday the first time, but was too tired to take a picture of it. that's why it's here now...)

I used: Depend - shade nr. 250. (matte grey)

So, that's all I have for you today, tomorrow... Well, let's not talk about that yet ;) I'll just say, I'll post something ;)

But have a great beginning of the week!

Simple Eyeliner Tutorial (dedicated to Kiz)

Hi everyone,

This post goes out for the lovely Kiz from Confessions of a Shopaholic blog. She asked me to do a tutorial for using eyeliner, so here we go. :)

Easy eye make-up

I started off with moisturizing my skin (as I think everyone should), and then adding L'Oreal Studio Secrets Primer. That'll give a great base to any make-up.

Then I added foundation (IsaDora). Not many pictures for this as I believe that adding all these is easy for everyone. Again, I remind that I don't use anything but my fingers to add the products mentioned above. It blends more easily this way.

Photobucket

Next thing to do is to add some highlighter (totally voluntary, but I feel like it adds a nice touch). I added it under my eyes, on the bridge of my nose, under my eyebrows and to the top of my cheekbones.

Photobucket

Then, I added bronzer and blush. I feel it's easier to find the right place for the bronzer (as I use it for shadowing the face and creating some shape) when you suck in your cheeks a bit and add the bronzer right under you cheekbone (which should be more visible now). Also, I added bronzer to my hairline and jawline (under the jaw, kind of).

The blush, that goes to the top of your cheekbones. I usually add it with a smile on my face, to get a nice glow and the pretty shape at the same time.

Photobucket

Then it's on with the eyes. Start off with curling your lashes (again, this is totally voluntary, you might have curlier lashes naturally than I do). Use your lash curler on 2-3 sections along the length of the lashes to get an even and beautiful curl. Don't press the curler too hard so that the result stays natural.

Photobucket

Then, add eyeliner. To make it exactly like I do, you'll need 3 different eyeliners: (they don't have to be exactly the same, just comparable ones.) Max Factor Colour Perfection Eyeliner, Maybelline Expression Kajal Eyeliner, and Lumene Natural Code Eye Dramatzer liquid eyeliner.

Start with the Max Factor eyeliner. Add it to the upper lashline, and if you want to do it like I do, add it to the inner eyelid (yes, still the upper lid ;)).

Photobucket

Photobucket

You can also make the base for the liquid liner now. This is recommendable, since it makes it last a bit longer this way.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Now, take the Maybelline Kajal. Add it gently to the lower lashline. For this makeup, it shouldn't be too visible. Just add it to highlight your lashes a bit. I usually add it only to the outer half of the lashline, since it should make the eyes look a bit bigger. If you do it like that, always remember to fade the eyeliner on the inner end.

Photobucket

Then it's time for the liquid liner. This is much easier to do with a mirror you don't need to hold with your other hand the whole time. Follow the line you've drawn with the Max Factor a couple steps earlier, starting from the outer corner of the eye, and drawing the line in pieces. Always draw the bits from in to out, it's easier, I promise.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Now, I thought I'd make a little twist to this look. Well, it's probably wrong to say twist as it is very basic thing on eye make-up... But anyway. Let's make the eyeliner a bit "winged". Just take the liquid liner and draw a line that kind of continues the line of your lower lashline, but of course this is an addition to the upper part. See the picture for better understanding. ;)

Try to create a sort of cat's eye, by drawing a thin line first, and then making it stronger by adding colour on the upper/inner (how do you say this?) side of the line. I'm afraid I don't have a photo for this one properly, but try to understand from the pictures.

Photobucket

Then, the final (and very important) touch to the look. Your mascara! :)

Photobucket

Photobucket

And that should be it :)

Hope you learned something from this, I know I did. I learned I need a new camera so badly :D

Anyways, this is all for now. I'll probably post an outfit post later today. ;)

Blog ya later!
