I Found Something Old In My Closet

Hey lovelies!

How are you all? ♥ Were you, too watching Oscars on Sunday? What do you think about the outfits, the winners, the show, etc.?

I was - before I fell asleep. Not that it's boring, no, I love the whole show and all, but 4:00 in morning kinda got to me. Oh, well, at least I saw the OTCR part. (The ABC one, with awkward Finnish commenting.) But I can say, my food supplies were over the top.

I mean, when thinking what kind of stuff I had in my kitchen.

My menu of the night

Photobucket

1. Parmesan popcorn. (I think I'm addicted to this stuff, is that bad?)

Photobucket

2. Homemade fudge (Which I told you on some previous post - see, Laura, I really made it!)

Photobucket

3. Cocktail-sized Karelian pies (We eat these quite a lot in Finland, they're delish!)

Photobucket

4. My failed macaron-kind-of-things. (They were super tasty, but the shape and texture were off... I guess I need to keep on practising.)

What were your snacks for the biggest movie night of the year?

I would've shared the outfit, but being without make-up and wearing a cap didn't really make a photogenic shots. :D But maybe once I'm a bit more suitable, I'll share the chill-out look with you. It was that much cool. :D

But anyways, here's something I wore at home yesterday:

Outfit of the day

Top: from Thailand (I think), a gift from my dad.
Jacket: A small shop in a city called Suonenjoki, whose name I can't recall.
Denim leggings: Nelly.com
Boots: Kenkä-Marski
Headband: H&M
Teardrop-shaped necklace: a gift from a close friend
Heart necklace: anniversary gift from my fiance, and something I never take off of me.

I don't know what was the deal with me, but I totally felt for brown yesterday. I have never worn the above items together, but I think they were okay. I've had both tops for years now, but never worn them much at all. I love both of those necklaces to bits, they're so simple, but pretty! And the boots are a must on Winter, they're super comfy and warm.

So, What do you think about the outfit?

For those who are waiting for the next manicure: You'll get to see one on Friday. I'm also hoping to get few other posts done for the future, but we'll see... :D

Now, I must get off to do laundry and other boring, necessary stuff... See you around, though!

Oh, one more thing, you noticed how I answered to every comment on the previous post? I kinda try to do that more in the future, though I prefer to show my appreciation by commenting to your blog. :)

Blog ya later!

Give Me A Break!

Hey sweeties,

How's your weekend? ♥

I originally planned to post on Friday, but my work/school kinda overwhelmed me so... I'm here now. ;)

So, I had an exam on Friday, and I feel it went okay - hopefully passing, that is. :D And after that, a work shift - then heading kind of straight to bed so that I got myself up on Saturday morning to get ready for Pori, once again. We were visiting our good friends, and besides hanging out, we headed to an ice-hockey game. What a great start for my week long break from school (which will be full of studying, but more on that later.)

My own team wasn't on the ice, so I cheered for the next best thing: My fiance´s favourite team, Porin Ässät. (And I had a make-up to match, as you will see later on this post...)

Here are some shots from the game, which aren't the best of quality, but I couldn't take the Sony inside the building without a press pass. (I assume.)

Photobucket

Little boys having a shoot-out on the first break. ♥

Photobucket

This little thingy was hovering on both breaks above the rink.

Photobucket

Zebras. :D (Yes, I know what they really are, but I call them that anyway.)

Photobucket

Hockey action. ;)

I was too keen on cheering the team to bother taking photos, but I thought I'd take some to share here. That is because ice-hockey is bit of a passion for me, I do love the sport, and I can't have too much of a game analysis. I'm a bit freaky like that. :D

Of course, seeing a sports game requires an outfit to match, and even though I know it's all about the sport and nobody cares what I look like, I just can't go there without looking the best I can. I couldn't go without my hair and make-up, dressed like everyone/anyone else out there. I love it when I stand out a bit. (Attention whore? Me? No way.... - Just kidding.)

Vanity is my deathly sin, I know. That's something I can't help.

So, I put some thought into what to wear, and this is what I came up with:

Jacket: Mango
Faux fur hood: Seppälä
Shorts: Mango (+ DIY stud detail)
Top: H&M
Tights: Only
Boots: Tunnelin Kenkä
Bangles: Nelly.com
Necklace: Seppälä

It may not have been the most warm thing you can wear to a hockey game, but I felt comfortable and I loved the way it looked. And the little detail I created to the shorts is fun, don't you think?

What are your thoughts about this look?

Also, you might notice a little black shape close to my eye. It's something I drew with eyeliner in effort of being supportive for the home team:

Photobucket

Ace of Spades.

Of course, if you have followed my blog, you know I have an obsession with doing my nails and fitting them to a best way possible to some current theme. And as today was about hockey...

Ace of spades meet leopard. Not the most common combo, and maybe not the best, but... I had to try it to know :D (And, you're allowed to go crazy when watching hockey ;))

But when it comes to watching:

How many of you will be tuning in when the Oscars will be on now on Sunday?

I sure will, and I thought I'd log in to both Facebook and Twitter to keep up with all the thoughts. Who's with me? Please, someone, keep me awake, it's 3:30am here in Finland when the actual gala starts (of course the all-important red carpet starts long before). I'm determined to watch it as last year I was working through the night and missed it all. :P

But anyway, like I think I mentioned in the previous post, I'll be posting more extra stuff on the blog's FB page, and for example my gala feelings will be posted there rather than here in the blog. So if you're interested, tune in there, and on Twitter, and watch the show with me. ;)

Blog ya later, and enjoy the Oscars!

Blazer Love. ♥

Hey beautiful people!

How are you doing today? ♥

I hope everything is fine with you, and that your week is great so far.

Mine is, though I have an exam on Friday - not happy about that - and fortunately after that a week long break - which I shall spend studying, blah. :D

So... Anyone else having problems with Bloglovin'? Because I signed in as usual to see what my favourite bloggers had written, and what to I get? "You have 581 unread posts"

What????

I never, hear that, never have that many unread ones. Not even when I can't post for 4 days. So that was strange. I thought it was just my account freaking out until Sherin told me others were having issues too. I really hope it gets fixed soon, as I'm an addict.

Just kidding.

Not.

Anyways, as much I would like to go on and on about everything, I just get to the outfit. (Because I need sleep so badly!)

Jeans: VILA
Top: GinaTricot
Blazer: H&M
Necklaces: H&M
Earrings: H&M

As you can see, I'm still rocking the blazer. I tried pairing it with bright top and black jeans - and of course long necklace. To me, this totally worked. What do you think?

I'm really waiting for the Spring already, lots of dresses, shorts and skirts in my closet are begging to be worn but due the storming snow out there, I really don't see a dress as an ideal piece. :D But maybe when it calms a bit, I could pair shorts with tights or something...

Are you already rocking Spring looks? (Let me know, so I can get inspired by all you talented people out there ;))

But now, I'm going to hit the bed once again so that I'll be up early tomorrow for school stuff and more...

ps: I'm trying to be more active with the Facebook page, so check it out every now and then to keep up with the stuff that don't make it to the posts ;) Also, I really love tweeting with you all, and have always my phone with me - so feel free to contact through Twitter any time you feel like it :) ♥

Dressed to Impress.

Hey lovelies!

How has your week started? ♥ And, Do you have any nice plans for this week?

I do. Well, actually the plan is not to do much, because last week was super hectic. As was today, because I had this school deadline. So, I'm terribly sorry if I haven't commented your posts, or thanked you for your comment. I've been just so crazily busy. But now, as soon as I can manage this week, I have a week long break from school, and I can't enjoy your blogs more. ;)

Just what I need.

So, what were you guys doing this weekend?

I was making fudge. And it turned out delicious, though, so sweet I can't possibly eat it all, so, I'll take a crazy amount of it to school tomorrow and hope that people'll eat it. :D Also, I was planning a bit this "street team" thing I was asked to join - but more on that later. (I want to make a separate post on that when I get this rolling smoothly ;))

Also, I once again want to thank you (all 151 of you) for being so amazing. Even though I've been such a terrible blogger lately. Thank you! ♥ I promise to visit you all during the break, the latest, and, host a giveaway when I find the perfect excuse. ;)

But now, I want to show you something I promised last week. My outfit from the sales event. (Well, it's not exactly the same, but as good as.) Today we had a communication seminar, and I thought it would be fun to put the same "professional" outfit I wore last week. And it looked like this:

Outfit of the day

Photobucket

Blazer: H&M
Top: H&M
Skirt: H&M
Boots: Tunnelin Kenkä

I can't say anything except that I loved this look! ♥ It's not perfect, but I like that it looks more stylish and adult than anything I usually wear. I bought the blazer especially for the sales event, but I reckon I'll be using it a lot otherwise, too. (I'm actually wearing it tomorrow with totally different look, but that, you'll see later ;))

And I could apologize for the lack of hairdo and make-up, but you know, it's Monday, so... Too much bother. :D (On the sales event I had my hair up and a winged eye make-up. Wish I had took pictures then.)

But, what do you think? Is it okay? :)

My nails from the event never quite made it to photos, but instead, I created this girly Spring manicure, a bit inspired but the upcoming trends. ;)

I used Mavala's stunning bright yellow shade number 68, called Sorrento. A perfect Spring/Summer shade, which combines well with many shades. I stamped pink hearts on top with the Konad set, and added shiny hearts on thumbs and ring fingers. Unfortunately I messed my left ring finger right after painting it, so I had to remove the whole art from it. And lazy as I am, I just added some transparent polish and sprinkled glitter on. I don't quite know if I like the effect or not, but at least, its different! :D

What are your thoughts?

(Oh, and sorry if the nails look messy, the macro shot is always so cruel :D)

Anyway, I hope you're all having a fantastic week, please comment - I'll be sure to get back to you as soon as I have time. (Plus, I'm kinda thinking of allowing the anonymous comments... What do you think about that?)

Have a fabulous week,

xoxo

It's Been A While

Hey lovelies!

How are you all? ♥

It's been a crazy week, and that's the reason for the awfully long blog silence. I'm sorry! I've been wanting to post for the whole week and only now did I find the time to shoot some photos and write.

I don't exactly remember if I've told you, but we had this sales event at our school. We had worked for it for weeks and the few days before the event were pretty hectic. And so was the event. (I'm going to post the outfit from there later)

Today, I just wanted to let you know I'm alive and well, and trying to get back to blogging and commenting.

And I would like to start off by sharing three little things that made me happy today:

Friday Favourites

Bangles, my eternal love when it comes to jewelry.

Organic Miso Soup ♥

Fourth Season of Gossip Girl ♥

As you can see, I've been trying to relax the whole day, despite the fact I had an exam and work shift today :D Well, anyway, as Spring is almost here, I thought I'd let my outfit show it too.

Tunic: H&M
Top: H&M
Jeans: H&M
Necklaces: H&M
Bangles: Nelly.com
Earrings: from Malta

Don't you love these pink jeans too? I'm really smitten with this colourful denim trend right now, as well as the lace & neon :) That's why today, I hit fabric and craft stores so that when the break starts after a week, I have the chance to make something cool for my wardrobe. ;)

What is your favourite trend this Spring?

I know this post falls a little short, but I'm unfortunately still a bit tired because of this week, and I really need to catch some sleep now. But, I'll be doing some cool manicure tomorrow to show you on the next outfit post. Fun, right?

Also, I want to thank you for your support and thoughts/comments despite my being away. Did you know that there's already 150 of you amazing readers! That's fantastic!

Another fantastic thing is that I have apparently gotten another amazing award - seriously, I never thought I should make a page for them but now I think I do... I'll get to that first thing tomorrow - as well as posting the award itself. But that's tomorrow.

Now, I'll watch the rest of my Glee episode (reliving the V-Day) and then crash.

Have an amazing weekend, everyone! ♥

Two Parties at One Go.

Hello darlings,

How was your weekend? ♥

Mine was once again spent in Pori, with friends and (soon to be) family.

As I think I mentioned before, we were invited to my fiancé's child's Christening, and we were happy to go. Even though I refuse to be a mood kill, I had a feeling the party wouldn't be too fancy. I was right about that. We had to drive in some snowy desert in the middle of nowhere to reach the party, and the hospitality lacked so much. The people at the party didn't mingle at all, just ate with their own families and ate the food (which was good, I must say).

So, not really a heart-warming event, but at least it taught me how NOT to host one. So, not a lost case, but I felt sorry for the fresh father. He didn't look too happy with the setting, though was clearly happy about his young family. And after all, that's all that counts.

I tried to wear something - well, not conservative, but something like that - to the Christening, because even though we skipped the church part, we didn't know more than the father from the whole party. So, I tried to not make anyone upset because of what I wear. (Trust me, I seem to do that weekly, even though I dress appropriately, don't I?)

So, this is what I came up with:

Outfit of the day #1

Dress: Gift from my grandmother
Leggings: SpiritStore
Cardigan: Mango
Shoes: SpiritStore
Necklace: gift from a close friend
Body harness: GinaTricot
Cuff: GinaTricot
Belt: secondhand

I was pretty happy with this look, though it's maybe not as much "me" as I would've hoped. Oh, well... I tried to work the dress with the metallic shades and my favourite pair of leggings, so that it'd make a nice look for a family party.

Do you think I pulled this off?

After the Christening, we had our friend's 22nd birthday to celebrate. It was a small party, where we just hang out watching videos and stuff, but I felt that as it was his birthday, it would be nice to doll up a bit and look good for the event.

So, I changed into this:

Asymmetric tunic: GinaTricot
Earrings: Seppälä
Bangle: Europehouse
For other items, check the outfit #1 above ;)

I absolutely loved wearing this, that tunic is one of the best pieces in my wardrobe! It's easy to style both dressy and casual, and it's definitely versatile. Plus, I'm smitten about the asymmetry of it.

What do you think?

Now, my nails this weekend didn't really have much do to with the outfits, I just got inspired by Grace once again (Check out her blog, she's such an amazing young talent! ♥), and wanted to do this trendy half-and-half manicure. I had bought this amazing orange Mavala polish just last week, and wanted to give it a go:

Konad being used once again :D Base was Mavala, shades 67, Amsterdam, and 2, Madrid. (sorry for the dark photos, I just noticed - when uploading these - that the setting was wrong when taking these... God bless my fiancé, he hasn't yet got a clue about what's right for what :D)

Anyway, I hope you will all have a lovely start for your week!

(Oh, I have also some lovely news to tell, nothing big, but... I just need to take the time to write about it with thought ;))
