What a Weekend...

Hey Lovelies,

How was your weekend like? :)

Sorry for the kinda long silence in the blogosphere, I've been first too busy, then trying to relax, so it made blogging and reading pretty much impossible. Oh, well, I'm here now.

I had a super fun weekend, I've been hanging out with guys the whole time, watching hockey (pictures from a game coming up!), eating birthday cake (I baked one for our friend), and just talking about anything and everything. Am I weird because I love to hang out with guys? It seems many times so much more relaxed. (Well, if we talk about girls I don't know so well, there's no one who can beat my best friends, though.)

Anyway, this weekend totally relaxed me for the coming week - our last period for this Spring starts at school on Monday, with an exam, so I need all my strength. But there are some things that made my stressing about exams feel so silly and unnecessary.

First up, the phenomenon around the Internet called KONY 2012. You have probably heard all about it already, but after seeing this on Gorgeous Glam, I thought I'd do my part and share it.

I gotta say, I'm a bit sceptic about every hype that goes around the web. Personally, I love the idea of sharing this video and spreading the awareness, but I still wouldn't donate. Although they are clear with giving only the third of the profits (at least I understood it's out in the open), I'm not too trusty. But the idea is beautiful, kinda. Using children at war is a stupid thing to do, adults should sort their differences with each other.

Anyway, that's only my opinion, and I think everyone should look into it. (And form their own thoughts about it).

Another thing on my mind is the Japan earthquake and tsunami from year ago. Some of my friends have been posting beautiful comments about it on Facebook, and it made me feel more closer to the unfortunate event than ever before. (I know it sounds silly, but sometimes I really take upon others' problems more than I do my own.)

You can read more about the earthquake anniversary here: Japan earthquake and tsunami anniversary

You want lighter subjects?

Okay.

How about my look of today, and the new hair? ;)

Sounds good to me as well.

Jeans: GinaTricot
Top: H&M
Belt: GinaTricot
Necklace: Seppälä
Bangle: Bijou Brigitte
Ring: SpiritStore

See the hair? The fringe is back! :D I love it, and the colour - which doesn't show in the yellowish light of the photos - because there's now three different colours. My hair stylist put a great amount of stripes there, and it made all the difference, to me at least. But it doesn't look too different in these pictures.

The outfit is something I wore on Friday, too, and as I have been home the whole day (yay for studying!) I thought I'd wear it again. High waist is something I never do, but as a style blogger, I felt I have to give it a try - I liked the jeans, so I bought them.

What do you think? A good one?

I also did a simple manicure, to go along with the look. I apologize the mess of the nails, I took the photos after the mani had seen a work shift at the post... Lifting boxes and tons of mail with broken gloves... Not great for nails... :D

A nude Mavala polish at the bottom, black Konad on the top. I kinda like the tiger/zebra pattern here.

Do you?

One last thing before I go enjoy my awesome web tasks...

Look what the mailman brought the other day!

Fireal stickers and flyers for sharing the amazing music with everyone. ♥

World, beware. I have promotional material, and I'm not afraid to use them. ;)

Okay, I'll go try to make sense with my school stuff now, hopefully this week I can be a better blogger friend to you all - I shouldn't have so much hurry now :D

Have an awesome week, everyone!

Blog ya later!

xoxo

Johanna

  2. I am loving those nails Johanna! I just saw on the news this weekend 1 year lookback at the tsunami in Japan. I still can't believe what happened, and how so many people lost everything within a span of seconds.

  9. Sigh. I also don't know about the whole "spreading awareness on the internet" movement that seems to just be burning like wildfire right now. Sure, it's great that people are now more aware of what's going on in the world, but seriously, why not DO something about it instead of just passing it on along? I dunno, sticky subject, but let's move on ;)

I do love your hair! I've been thinking about what kind of haircut I should get next, and I've been wanting to try a shorter, straight fringe!

    1. Laura, I know exactly what you mean. I would rather be out there in Africa, saving the children, but honestly I'm just too scared for my own life. But it's good to get people talking, I guess that's a start? :) But like you said, it's not a simple thing. (that's why I usually leave these things out of my blog)

And yes, try a fringe! I believe it would look great on you :)

  11. Good luck with your exam Johanna! It's really sad what's going on in Africa, but on television they were saying they didn't even think Kony was still over there. Who knows? The tsunami in Japan was horrible. I saw a documentary where they are making great headway cleaning things up, but it created 19 years worth of trash! That's a lot! I still pray for them and their recovery. LOVE your hair girl!!! It looks good. Have a great week! ((HUG))

  14. Ohhh - I am def. loving the fringe! So pretty and chic. You look like a doll!

So excited to hear that you will be visiting FL - we had a great time. How long are you planning on staying? We were there for about 5-6 days and visited Seaworld, 3 Disney Parks, a waterpark and 2 beaches. If you plan on going to Seaworld I recommend buying tickets online it saves you $10 per person right on the spot. Disney tickets tend to be the same whether online or at the door but I recommend the parkhop if you have time to jump around from one park to another. Clearwater Beach is a MUST - the sand was silky white and the water was a gorgeous blue! So beautiful! I also visited Daytona Beach which had red sand and bubbly water, so unique. I still have so much photos to share so hopefully you will see something you like. Feel free to ask me any questions. We visit FL about once a year because my sister lives there.

  21. Love the nails girl! btw- I didn't donate either to that org but I feel like I did my part by standing up with the voice I have. Some people can "do" (in Africa) while others can pray and speak up and that is just as important. There is is this great saying, "If you don't stand for something you will fall for anything." Pretty true don't you think! hope you have a great week! xx
