Pink - Perfect for October ♥

Hi lovelies!

Happy Saturday! ♥

I hope everyone's having a nice day/evening - or whatever time it is when you're reading this. ;) I sure am. I had a great shift at work yesterday, everyone was in a Friday state of mind, due to our boss being not around, and our supervisor being the awesome person she is. I don't remember when I would've had as great Friday night shift as I had yesterday.

In those spirits, I decided to add some music to get you into the weekend mood - big thanks to Rosita for a neat tutorial on how to add these YouTube bars like this! You rock, girl! ♥ (You can check the tutorial in finnish here!)

David Guetta - Turn Me On ft. Nicki Minaj

You know I always try to be positive with my posts an all - for you, my readers, as I can take my negative vibes and just write them on a notebook (and burn them to ashes when a new year begins or something)... Well, there's one (technically, two) thing bothering me in Autumn. And that's every Autumn, not just this one. I think Finland is impossible in Autumn, for two reasons: It's too dark, and it's too rainy.

Both of which prevent me from enjoying the pretty yellows and reds of Autumn nature, but nowadays also prevent me from taking decent outfit pictures - either it is raining or then it's already too dark. Don't I have big problems?

Just kidding, of course. ;)

Now, most of you know that every October is a Breast Cancer awareness month. There's so many ways to participate, you can buy stuff from chocolate bars to nail polishes, from t-shirts to all kinds of pink things they have in stores right now. I'm personally not sure what I will do for the cause this year, taken that my budget is limited, but I will post about the things I do to spread the awareness.

Well, of course I could always focus on pink manicures if nothing else, hehe. There's actually Instagram full of all sorts of contests featuring this topic, I'll let you know if I find interesting ones.

Another cool thing to participate in is this Instagram campaign against Domestic Violence and Bullying. The little campaign is founded by @prettyandpolishd, and all you have to do to participate is to take a photo of your current manicure, and tag it with #PolishedPaws. And yay, you've made someone's day! So, if you're on Instagram, do take part in this. Together, we can make a statement. And no, you don't have to have any special manicure, it can be anything from a basic French mani to a complicated fake nail design, it doesn't matter. We're all equals, right? So all of them are perfect. ♥

The IG thingy goes on the whole month, so you can enter as many pictures as you want to. And of course, if you have Twitter, we could always make this a trending topic. This isn't really about money, and there is no prizes (that I know of, except the warm feeling of being part of something), but sometimes we got to raise our voice against all kinds of bullying - the same way as we speak out loud about the Breast Cancer awareness.

I hereby promise, that all my IG nail photos this month will be tagged with #PolishedPaws. It's the cutest hashtag for such a nice cause.

Okay, enough social media advertising for one post. Moving on to the outfit part of this post.

This outfit was mainly inspired by the lovely Anna from Fash Boulevard (she's one of my style icons, I swear!) and especially by her Coastal Chic look. Of course my look had to be a bit modified for the Autumn, but there are similar elements nonetheless. Anna is someone who really inspires me to challenge myself to dress more girly and chic every day. (See her blog, you'll get it.) This outfit was so cute for school, and even though in Finland we don't really tell if we like someone's clothes, I think this was a winner in it's own way. ;)

Blazer: H&M
Dress: H&M
Leggings: SpiritStore
Ballet flats: Skopunkten
Necklace: SpiritStore
Bracelet: H&M (gift from my fiance)

Simple outfit with super simple - yet always working - color combo. There's nothing quite as simple and chic, to me at least, than black, white, and some bright color as a trio. With that logic, you can create appropriate outfit for nearly any occasion possible, of course honoring the dress code at the same time. I wouldn't, for example, go out partying in this look, but it's still great for work, school, and meeting your friends for a lunch or a coffee. I don't know about you, but the spiky necklace is one of my favorites at the moment. I love it. It's perfectly edgy to combine into most of the Autumn trends - and it was 5 euros on sale, so it was a steal, really.

Now it's your turn. What do you think about this look? And, is the an awareness campaign this month you're taking part in? Let me know in your comment! ♥

I hope you're having a fantastic weekend, and stay the beautiful, powerful person you are! (Yes, you really are ♥)

Blog ya later,

xoxo

Johanna
