Pori Jazz 2012

Hi lovelies,

How are you all today? ♥

I just had such a fun weekend, with bowling and unexpected bar tour... And Pirates of the Caribbean, again. :D

What were you doing this past weekend?

Today, I'm going to share photos from week ago, when I was spending the Saturday with the boys in Pori. Like mentioned, there is this annual Pori Jazz festival (not so much jazz anymore, but the name is so well-known, so...), and during it, this little street next to a river transforms into a little bazaar, with many (overpriced) food stands, small bars, dancefloors, cafés, etc. The items and such weren't that interesting, so I didn't do much of the shopping, but our point was rather enjoy the atmosphere, music and few drinks.

And here is some pictures for you, to see what it looked like through my eyes.

Photobucket

Not really related to the event, but I loved the architecture of this building - and the way the light was hitting it, too.

My favorite stand, with fudge! That was the only place I bought something from.

Slushies... ♥ If it would've been cheaper, I would've had one. I love them!

I had never been to Pori Jazz before, but something tells me I might go next year again. I enjoy the Pori in Summer so much, when people actually are out and about, and the sunlight makes everything prettier than usual. The one thing I should share with you about this little town is its gorgeous beach Yyteri, which is one of the longest in Europe (as unbelievable as it sounds to me). I hope we will make a trip there soon, so I can show the beauty of it to you as well. :)

I was hanging around in flats and simple, girly outfit. As the day was full of walking, and it was a bit windy, I had to have a comfy outfit - and yet something that looked cute and girly - so this is what I threw on:

Top: Gina Tricot
Skirt: thrifted
Bike short leggings: Gina Tricot
Ballet flats: Skopunkten
Bag: Mango
Metallic feather necklace: Vila
Skull rosary necklace: Gina Tricot
Bracelet: Bijou Brigitte

This is an outfit I could actually wear to many places - and I apologize for the inside photos, we had a terrible weather when taking the photos. My love for the Mango bag is growing and growing, it is absolutely gorgeous, and I love how it looks nearly as good as the super expensive ones, and it didn't even break my budget. It also holds amazing amount of stuff if needed, so it's perfect for me. I also love that skirt, it was an amazing thrift find, and it has shown it's versatility many, many times already :) Can't wait to mix it with Fall fashion, I'm sure it'll look amazing with then as well. :)

What do you think about the look? ♥

Manicure challenge

#6 Violet nails

With these nails, I tried to go with classic and girly, while still making it colorful. I couldn't resist adding a statement nail into the mix, and this is what I came up with:

Photobucket

The light doesn't do much of a favor for the glitter here, but I hope you get the idea. These were kinda fun, and I just might make a pink version of these after the challenge is over. I've done three manicures already after this one (I'm sure my nails thank me a lot... oops.), and I hope you'll like them when I post them. (They can already be seen on Instagram, if you happen to be interested.)

Do you like this manicure? What's the latest nail art you've done? (Leave a link, I'm more than happy to see!)

Some of you may have already noticed that I recently created a Lookbook account. Please leave a comment to my profile, so I can find you all there as well - my nick is Silvertigo. ;)

How many social platforms can one person be on? Apparently, too many. :D

Anyways, I gotta go now and do some grocery shopping... But I'll be back soon, can't wait to read the posts from you I haven't been able to read this weekend! (And I have some comments to answer to, so if you're waiting for my answer, don't worry, I'll handle them after groceries ;))

Hope you'll have a fabulous week! ♥

Simplicity ♥

Hey lovelies,

How are you? ♥

It's been a hectic week this far - without no reason in particular - so forgive me for being kinda MIA in the blogging community. I've been working on this little guest post thing for a friend who's travelling abroad, so it's cutting my time a bit from my normal posting things. But not to worry, I'll be back on track this weekend.

I want to, once again, say big thanks to my followers - the new ones in particular - for cheering me to do this blogging thing with care and thought every week. You are amazing, every single one of you! ♥

Now, about the outfit. This outfit was something I wore a while back, and both the top and the leather shorts are something I bought while shopping with one of my best friends. The fun part? She has the same items now. :D I never buy same things with anyone, but then we just couldn't help it.

The friend of mine mentioned here is one of the most fashionable and stylish people I know, and it's a shame she doesn't have a blog - or a Pose/Lookbook profile I could share here. (But I'll let you know if that changes, I'm sure you'd love her style as much as I do!)

Top: Cubus
Faux leather shorts: Seppälä
Sandals: SpiritStore
Clutch: SpiritStore
Aviators: Citymarket
Dreamcatcher necklace: Seppälä
Bird ring: Warehouse
Rose ring: Accessorize
Feather earrings: H&M

This was a simple look I had to try out once I got the shorts and that shirt. The shorts try to be somewhat high waisted, but I don't think it shows that much. Both items were sales finds, how great is that?

What do you think about this outfit? Have you found whole outfits from sale this Summer?

Then a quick nail update, before I need to catch some sleep to finish some projects in the morning...

Manicure challenge

I'm continuing my manicure challenge today with only one manicure. And, you remember how I mentioned on the previous post how yellow is a challenging manicure color for me? Well, blue is that as well. But I got somewhat nice nail art with a little help of my Konad set.

It's kind of a starry sky theme on these nails, and I felt it needed to be photographed with our blue PS3 controller. Hehe.

Yes, I'm a total geek at heart, no matter how much I'll be into fashion and beauty. Laura, you know what I mean, right? ;)

Anyways, I hope you'll have a wonderful rest of the week - I'll be writing again after my shift in Friday night, or on Saturday morning (Finnish time, that is). ♥

New Favorite Skirt

Hey lovelies!

How was the weekend for you all? ♥

I had loads of fun, being out with the boys, enjoying sun, music, drinks and way too many people in a tiny street. I'll get the pictures ready for you later. ;) At the moment we're watching the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie (my fiance wants to see them all properly now that I bought them as a video game...), and I'm laughing so much at Jack Sparrow, he's definitely one of my favorite movie characters. :D

I'll keep my blabbering short today, I basically just wanted to show you an outfit I wore a week ago, including my favorite skirt I received from OASAP that Friday. The skirt is a definite favorite now, and I can tell I'll be buying more from them, probably very soon, even.

I wore the outfit for a little day trip we had with my parents to a little cheese factory called Juustoportti, which is located about 2-hour drive away from Tampere. As I've gotten my passion for good food from my parents, it was only logical we made a trip there. There were lots and lots of delicious things to buy, and it was quite hard to choose the ones we wanted.

Photobucket

There were an exquisite selection of cheeses...

Photobucket

...jams, curds...

Photobucket

...and candy. There was also lots of other food-related things, but there were so many people I didn't feel like photographing everything.

Photobucket

There was also the factory's own ice cream, which was a bit pricey but definitely worth it. ;)

We had a lot of fun at the trip, and will definitely make more of them - and I'll be posting them here, hehe. But now, let's move to the superficial things, shall we?

Great. :D

Skirt: OASAP (shop this item here)
Lace back tee: Gina Tricot
Ballet flats: Skopunkten
Necklace: Gina Tricot
Coral bracelets: Accessorize
Gold bracelets: Nelly.com
Skull bracelet: Gina Tricot
Feather earrings: H&M

I decided to balance out the girliness of the skirt pairing it with the rock chic tee, and I think the combination was really fun. And it was a great way to dress this chic skirt down, as it could be quite festive otherwise. (or  maybe it's just my opinion :D) I totally loved the jewelry I wore here, they all represent my current taste in accessories so well. Those ballet flats are something I seem to wear everywhere at the moment, so much so that they've streched out a bit.

That's what you get from buying super affordable shoes, I guess.

Now, your thoughts. How do you like this outfit?

You know what? Today, I again have two manicures to show you. I'm continuing the series of challenge manicures, and now it's time for number 3 and 4. Enjoy!

31-day manicure challenge

#3 Yellow nails

There are some colors I feel weird doing a manicure with. One of them is definitely yellow. I'm not sure why I feel so weird with this sunny, happy color, but I just do. Luckily I came up with a style I was quite comfy with.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Some of the rhinestones had unfortunately fallen of by the time I took the photos (oops!), but luckily they don't look that bad. I happened to think about tigers when painting my nails, and it just came to me after that. Kinda cool, right?

#4 Green nails

This challenge truly makes me realize the shades missing from my nail polish collection, and a real green one is one of those. So I had to figure out a mint green one - it was as close to green as I could do.

Photobucket

Photobucket

I'm apparently having a hard time of letting go of the animal prints... I promise that after this there will be other prints as well. :D (and yes, if you wanna request any pattern of whatever, leave a comment ;))

So, what do you think? Were the designs nailed at any level at all?

Now, I'll get back to watching the movie with the love of my life, but I'll get back as an eager reader of your blogs right after that. ;)

Have a lovely start for your week, everyone! ♥

Snake Print Top

Hey lovelies,

Are you having a lovely start for your weekend? ♥

I am, though I still have a work shift to go to, but luckily that's only 4 hours. Yesterday I was at work only for 45 minutes, and then got so dizzy (and nearly fainted) that I had to get back home. I'm not sure what was going on, but I guess it has something to do with the heat, migraine and dehydration combo. I'm feeling totally fine today, and really hoping that today goes more smoothly. :)

Tomorrow we're planning on going to Pori once again, as there is this annual Jazz festival kind of thing. Not that there's actually artists I tend to listen to, but I thought it would be fun to go and have a drink or two with the guys while listening to the music. And, I'll take my camera along, so hopefully I'll get some fun material to show to you all. :)

Remember me telling you I received something fun at the mail? Well, now I'm going to show two items (and on the next post, there'll be another one). You might have noticed I don't really enjoy writing New In posts, even though I do shop kinda lot. Although it's nice to see some finds from others - as an inspiration - I really don't see the point of showcasing every single item I buy. It feels like bragging. I rather show my finds while wearing them, when you get a better picture what they're really like in real life.

But, I don't judge if someone likes to take pictures of their buys and show them. If it fits your style and it feels right, do it. I just don't have that much fun writing about stuff. :D

Okay, enough of that. Just see what I found from web shop:

The reason I'm now showing these two items, is that I had been wanting a new bag for quite a while, and drooled over these honeys for long - so long that in the end, I couldn't find them at the Mango store anymore. So I logged into Mango's website, and there they were - on sale. I simply had to by them!

Especially the brown one, I guess it'll my favorite one in Autumn. ;)

I've probably mentioned how obsessed I am with leopard print? Well, as it seems, my obsession now covers the other animal prints as well. Case in point: This next outfit.

Snake print top: Mango
Denim shorts: SpiritStore
Sandals: SpiritStore
Bag: SpiritStore
Bracelets: Nelly.com
Feather necklace: Gift from the lovely Dian ♥
Feather earrings: H&M

The top is a find from our trip to Helsinki. It was on sale, and looked so amazing with it's slouchy shape and neutral colors, that I just had to have it. It seems that happens a lot to me when it's about Mango... Oops.

The necklace is also lovely, it's same series with the earrings in the previous post, which I got from a reader, blogger, and a friend of mine, Dian. She's such a sweet girl, and insisted on sending a gift back to me when she received a giveaway prize from me back in the Spring. I also got this amazing hair accessory, but haven't find the right occasion to wear it yet. But when I do, you'll be first to see it. ;)

And now, something I've been talking about in so many posts before.

The 31-day manicure challenge

I have today the first two manicures of the challenge, from which the latter I had on when photographing the outfit for this post. (And I shouldn't play favorites, but I also love the latter way more!)

#1 Red nails

Photobucket

Photobucket

This one I kept really simple, just put on two different Mavala polishes - one color, and one glitter. This could've been more creative, I admit, but I wasn't feeling the red that day, so...

#2 Orange nails

Photobucket

Photobucket

It's very much alike to the one seen on the previous post, but I liked the design so much I had to try it in different color. Big thanks to Leanne for bringing me and this manicure together, she's the sole reason I've fallen for this particular design. ♥

Next time, you'll be seeing more manicures, and my amazing buy from Oasap. So, see you on Sunday!

I hope you'll all have a fantastic weekend - all about 200 of you following my four blogs - you are amazing! And so are you, who are reading anonymously, or reading without leaving a mark. All of your support keeps me going with this blog, so THANK YOU! ♥

Blog ya later,

xoxo
