Blogmas Day 1, Peppermint Mocha

Hello my loves, and happy 1st of December. Today starts the Blogmas - or the Christmas calendar, whichever you prefer - for this year. I don't think I've ever done this before, but I feel like this year, we are going to try this. Also, I have another thing for you little before halfway of the month, but that I will talk about once it's time for that. As today truly is the first day of Christmas time for me, I figured that starting out with a Christmas beverage would be a nice thing.

So here is one of my favorite recipes this winter (originally from here):

peppermint mocha

Peppermint Mocha

1 cup strong brewed coffee
½ cup almond milk
1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder
2 regular size candy canes, crushed
sweetener of choice, if desired

optional garnishes:
whipped cream
candy cane
chocolate sauce

Pour 1 cup of hot coffee into a mug. In a microwave-safe bowl, add the almond milk, crushed candy canes, and cocoa powder. Heat the milk mixture in the microwave on high for 90 seconds, stirring once halfway through the cooking time. Stir the mixture until all the candy cane pieces and cocoa powder have dissolved, and pour into the mug of coffee. Add sweetener of choice and garnishes, if desired.

I replaced the chocolate sauce with some cacao powder and had three macrons on the side, but this worked so nicely like that as well. I think this one is so easy to do and super delicious, so I think everyone should try it. Also, I must say that it works perfectly with cashew milk, I had that in the fridge and used it - with is such a favorite for me at the moment (see recipe for it here).

What is your favorite winter drink? Let me know in the comments below!

That's it for today's post, tomorrow we'll have totally other things to talk about. I hope this Blogmas will be fun for you, at least I've had fun planning and creating the posts for you. In the meantime, you can join me on Instagram, where I'm having 25 Days of Makeup. So all my beauty lovers, see you there!

Have a lovely day my darlings ♥

  1. Oooh--thank you so much for passing this recipe alone! All I need to buy is cocoa powder and candy canes, and I'd be all set. It sounds like it must taste like Starbuck's Peppermint Mocha...swoon city! :)

    1. I suppose it's quite like that (as it is a copycat recipe). Maybe wiith some chocolate sauce this would be perfect match (I've never had the Starbucks one).
