So I Got a Haircut.

Hey dolls,

What have you been up to this week? I've been trying to get a grip of my studies ;)

And I got a spontanious haircut. (always such a wise move, I know, but I deeply trust my hairdresser. She's the best!) More on that later in the post ;)

Today, I learned how to make home-made potato chips - they were so great. Once again the recipe was from Cupcakes and Cashmere, not surprising anyone who's read my previous posts. And I made some lasagna today (my fiancé's fave food, well, at least one of them), as I had my only day off from work.

Also, I shopped some clothes a while ago from H&M.com, and received them yesterday. I was so disappointed with the dresses I got, as they didn't fit me at all! Unusual for H&M. Not that I feel too bad about it, because I spotted few dresses on other stores I would like to at least try on, but now, I can maybe actually buy one. ;)

Yeah, devastating troubles, I know.

But one thing that truly made my day this week:

Ain't that card just adorable? Some lady from the Netherlands had made this from scratch! Can you believe that? Some talented people out there... It's really touching that someone has actually crafted this one especially for me. I mean, look at the colourful swirly pattern on the shoe. It's sewn there. Unbelievable, eh?

Again, that's why postcrossing keeps me so happy.

Then, as you know, I bought some new nail polishes few days ago. That's what I did with them:

Manicure of the day

I started off with putting simple clear tape on my nails to help creating a clean line. Then I applied two coats of Mavala's new light purple shade called Stockholm. I adore it, as it in some light looks pink, and in some, it's clearly purple.

Then to the tips, one coat of H&M neon lilac nail polish, which is a part of some summer pack of polishes. Not worn it a lot, but luckily needed it for this manicure. And yeah, I did that by free hand, no help there after the tapes.

Then I applied two coats of Mavala shade 214 Violet Diamond - also a lovely new shade - over the H&M polish. (This doesn't look as nice without it, believe me, I was foolish enough to try.)

I personally like this manidure quite a lot, even though I'm usually not the biggest fan of purple. Even my hairdresser loved this, though she was having fantastic gold/orange/nude nails herself.

And now... The hair.

This is what you get when you give kinda free hands to your stylist:

What do you think? I like it, and this is just one of many ways it can be worn (I asked it to be cut the way I can play around with it - stylewise.)

Knit: GinaTricot, Jeans: Stocker. (Unbelievably little different pieces today...)

This knit is a absolute favourite of mine - and my fiancé's. It's light but warm, I love the colour (and saw the exact same pattern this season on Mango, in case you want one), and this brings back lots of memories. :)

I try to post something a bit more insightful on weekend, but now, I'll go get some sleep to make it through the last day of school this week ;)

Blog ya later!

xoxo

  1. You hair is so cute, and I really like that striped sweater on you too. Sorry your h&m wasn't better. I'm so bad at painting my nails. You did a good job, the two tone is very chic.
