Well, They Aren't Exactly School Books... (+what's in my bag)

Hey babes,

And great Monday to you all! (or at least, great beginning of the week) Somehow, I find it hard  to dress up and do my hair and make-up on Monday mornings... Surely some of you too have the same feeling?

Thought so.

Well, as you can probably guess from that, no outfit post today (better luck next time, right?). Instead, I'll give you a few words of my latest reads, manicure of the day, and, the first time ever, I'll do a "What's in my bag" piece. So, I'll hope you enjoy!

What I've been reading lately... The latest novel I've read is Mini Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella. The novel was light, fun and kinda touching, and you can read a little more detailed review here.

The novel I'm reading now, is The Carrie Diaries, a prequel of Sex and the City, by Candace Bushnell. I like the book so far, it's cool to hear (well, read) the story behind the beloved imaginary style icon, Carrie Bradshaw. The novel tells about Carrie's teenage years, and it is a fun read (with such a fab cover!). I'll review that when I'm done reading it. ;)

(isn't that the cutest cover?)

Now, as I was wondering what I'd post to you today - as I'm lacking the outfit pics - I remembered seeing these in other blogs:

What's In My Bag (school day edition)

So, it's time for my first ever time doing this kind of piece. I have different things in my bag on different days, but this is how it looks on school days:

Photobucket

Bag: Tunnelin Kenkä

Stuff inside:
Hello Kitty folders (2 different ones)
Student's Calendar
Swedish book
Gloves
Wallet
Keys
Random discount cards and two cases
Hello Kitty mirror
Lipgloss, lipbalms, and lipstick
Lighter (Colt) - and no, I'm not a smoker, I just have a thing for lighters.
Water Bottle
Pencil case (Winnie the Pooh)
Tissues
Bubblegum, Chocolate, Lollipop

I know it's A LOT of stuff, and that's the main reason of my shoulders being very stiff on daily bases. :D Unbelievably, most of the things are necessary for me every day at school, so I can't really leave much of them out. (And yeah, noticed that my cell phone is missing - that's because it's the only camera I had in hand... sorry!)

Surely, none of you has this much stuff on their handbags every day? :D

Manicure of the Day

As you've seen in so many other fashion/style/beauty blogs, the thing that's in right now with nails is the statement nail. Which of course means painting one nail with a different colour than the others. I haven't cared about trends on nail art before, but as I'm nowadays hooked on painting my nails in different and new ways, this of course caught my eye and attention.

So I thought I'd try this on myself. (as I'm still waiting for my chance to buy a proper Konad pack and do more impressive nail art... I'll keep you posted...) I decided to go for red and gold combination, for the lack of more original ideas. :D

For the red polish, I chose Mavala's shade 2, Madrid. It's not a shade I usually don't wear too often, but now, it felt perfect. I added two coats of that.

And for the single gold nail (my left ring finger) I chose Maybelline New York Forever Strong Pro, shade 810, Chic Gold. Again, two layers.

I had never used these two together, so I didn't know how it'd turn out, but I think it looks fine. Though, today, as I quickly popped in to Stockmann to see if there's new fashion magazines I should read, I wandered into the make-up apartment,and... Well, I'll show you:

That's what I came home with. There are many beautiful shades of lilac in the stores - at least when it comes to nail polishes. I just couldn't resist, as I have my paycheck in the next week anyways. Have any you tried out some of these products? I'll let you know when I have ;)

Then, lastly, I'd like to have your thoughts about something. I'm already planning for the next "personal style" piece, which will be about hair. I would like to know what you guys wanna hear about haircare, hairdos, products, accessories... Well, as long as it is about hair, you know. Tell me your suggestions, ideas, wishes, and I'll see what I can do with them! :)

Also, remember to follow me/this blog on Facebook, Twitter, Bloglovin' and of course here in Blogger!

Blog ya later honeys, and have a fabulous week!

xoxo
