Little Girl in a Playground & Neon Nails (tutorial)

Hi lovelies!

How are you? ♥

It's another wonderful week starting, and I'm somehow super excited about it - for no reason in particular. And that's, well, fun. :D

Are you excited about this week?

I'm once again trying to do a little cleanse to my body, as well as trying to find my bronzing moisturizer to get that pretty, Summery glow before the beach season. ;) I also need a little training, but that's more next week's thing - besides from jogging, that is. I'm doing the cleanse by eating lightly, drinking both lemon water and cleansing/detox tea, and doing some light exercise (like sit-ups, gym ball training, and light weights - maybe even a little yoga). The point of the cleanse is not about losing weight, but rather getting unnecessary filth out of the body - which will make me feel better - and probably make the body look better as well. That's a great way to start Summer.

Another thing, I wanted to let you know I finally wrote something to Writer's block, a book review that has been hanging there in my drafts, so if you like Lionel Shriver head to the latest post, and see my review of the book The Post-Birthday World. I have few other reviews waiting, and I'll post them as soon as I got them written - so stay tuned for that. ;)

Also, I wanted to remind everyone, that if you want to, you can join/follow me on Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook, Fashiolista, Pose, Instagram, to keep in touch between the posts. I'll be making a post about both Fashiolista and Pose when I just have the time to do it properly - hopefully that's next week. :)

Okay, should we get to the outfit already? Of course we should. I was feeling for a new lace neon tunic/dress that I found from Gina Tricot a while back, and as it starts to be warm enough I decided to take it out for a test drive. And as we have a little playground at our front yard, I thought it would be fun to take the pictures there. So, here's my look:

Lace tunic: Gina Tricot
Tank top: H&M
Skirt: H&M
Ballet flats: Skopunkten
Pink necklace: Cousin's old
Rosary necklace: Gina Tricot
Neon bracelet: DIY (see here)
Other bracelets: Nelly.com
Earrings: DIY (see here)

I was loving that look, but I totally think it needs a little tan to look its best. (Hence the bronzing moisturizer.) But otherwise, I think it looks nice. Though I look so short - okay, that's maybe because I am, hehe. The flats were on for the first time in these pictures, I just thought they looked cute with the look. Of course, wedges or heels would've maybe been more flattering, but as I was fooling around in a sandy playground, these were a safer choice.

Do you love neon as well, or are you not liking the trend?

Of course, once again, I did a manicure inspired by the outfit, and this time around, there's a little tutorial for you. You might also want to see the post that inspired me to do this, which you can find at The Beauty Department blog

Manicure of the day (and how to do it)

Photobucket

1. I applied Mavala's Super Base base coat, and after it dried, a rich layer of Maybelline New York mini Colorama nr. 51 French White.

Photobucket

2. I chose two colors for the shapes, and painted some Scotch tape with them. (I used tape that's shiny on top, but I guess matte on would work better when you want a mani that lasts better...) I let it dry properly before the next step.

Photobucket

3. I started designing with the yellow, and cut just plain stripes from it. I decided to do each nail a bit differently, but of course you can do whatever you wish.

Photobucket

4. Then I used the other color (pink, which wasn't really neon, but close enough) to finish the designs. Finally, I added the top coat, and waited for it to dry.

Below is what my both hands looked like:

This manicure was really something different for me, and I got to say I loved it very much. And I've learned to use yet another technique for nail art, which I'm super happy about. You'll be seeing more these in the future, I promise. And I try to make some more tutorials for you as well. (And actually, as me and all you readers love nail art, I will try and make a fun little nail post some time soon enough. It's been a while in my mind, but school's been in the way of it.)

Was this manicure fun? And would you like to see more tutorials like this in the future? Leave your thoughts on the comment section below! ♥

Now, I got to get ready for work, but I hope you enjoyed this post. And I'm sure many of you will be enjoying other posts I have waiting for you this week - at least I'm happy with them. :D

I hope you'll all have a fabulous week! ♥

Blog ya later!

xoxo

Kiitos kommentista! :) En ole ennen käynyt Jyväskylässä kirpparireissulla (olen muualta kotoisin), mutta tällä kertaa shoppailtiin Seppälän Lidlin lähellä olevalla kirpparilla, ja sitten keskustassa ihan sen kävelykadun varrella olevassa ..en muista ravintolaa minkä kulmalta käännytään sivukujalle, olisiko Grincos locos vai puhunko nyt ihan höpöjä :) Toivottavasti jotain kivoja paikkoja löytyy! Omat ostokseni ainakin olivat älyttömän halpoja (kuvia tulossa mahd.pian :)
