Sneak Peek to Our New Home ♥

Hey my lovelies!

How are you all? ♥

We're finally starting to settle into our new place, and even though it's not even nearly ready, there are things about it I really wanted to show you. So I ran around the apartment snapping a few photos of the little corners that are done already. I'm a bit upset that I have to take a school trip to Sweden from Tuesday to Friday, and I have to leave my fiance to an unfinished home. But what can you do.

Anyway, the moving was a pain in the ass (sorry for the choice of words) but luckily we had help. Though, only one of our friends managed not to bail when it was time to start to move the stuff - but he brought a pleasant surprise, his girlfriend, with him and she was such a big help! ♥ Thank you for both of you guys, we couldn't have done it without you two!

Also, I'm more than grateful for my parents, who were such a big support during this process. I've had about 3000 phone calls with mom about everything concerning the move, and seriously I've learned so much during this.

But the pictures... Here's some little details from our home - better post will be up when we finally get it all together. ;)

Brand new spice rack we put up today ♥ I love it because it looks like dark wood, and it is simple, masculine and massive at the same time. That's what I need from furniture.

The light was pretty bad for taking photos, but as this is a sneak peek post, I thought it's fine even though it's not daylight. Our kitchen is now very neutral, no more green curtains like in the previous place, and it has lots of wood, or wood-like materials everywhere.

The small appliances we have are mostly bright red, I got these from a close friend who was redecorating her own kitchen and didn't want these anymore - though each one was in top shape. So I promised to give them a loving home, and in this apartment, I can actually have them on the counter and have room for cooking. Yay!

A detail on our fridge door, I don't know if you've noticed, but I have a great love for all sorts of word prints. So I bought this word magnet set for our previous home already, but I don't think I've ever shown it here in the blog. For those who don't know, you can use these to leave a message to your loved one, write a fancy poem, or you can let your friends touch them after they've had several drinks. (That's totally hilarious, I can tell you!)

And the little things I love. Tea and cookies. I'm making it easy for my guests to find the stuff :D

Our bathroom, which is not a toilet at the same time - what a luxury!

And finally a place for the bathroom products where they don't have to be crammed in too tightly. ♥

My probably biggest issue with the new place is not having a walk-in closet like we used to. But I guess it's not all bad, as now I have to think more carefully what I need and what I don't. (I just had a little inventory session with mom, who told me several times not to throw my clothes around even if I'm going to throw them away.) This little clothes rack here is still a bit messy, and it has stuff there that doesn't belong, but oh well...

Our not quite done office corner in the living room, where I've done my best to cover up as much wires as I possibly could. :D

Top of our living room book shelf, which now hosts this army of cat-shaped wine bottles. I love colorful glass as a material, but couldn't handle much more than this in our apartment. :D

This is all I dare to show you so far, but I hope it gives you some idea of our home. There's so much more to come, and we don't even have all the furniture yet, so don't hold your breath for the complete house tour. ;)

But so far, what do you guys think? And what elements do you love, when decorating your home?

Lastly, I decided to take a photo to show you I'm still alive and well, even though this isn't the most fresh picture of me. :D But just to give you the idea how I dress when I don't have to leave the house. (Except for the moving days, when I looked like a dead girl walking, like our friends could tell you, after seeing my fabulous look on Thursday.)

It's so good to be somewhat back in normal life, now I just want to get every single item in place - and get rid of everything that doesn't find a proper place. And now, I have to go and get myself something to eat before bed. I try to make you a post or two for the time I'll be on the school trip, and I try to get a chance to moderate the comments on the road. After this week, I'll definitely get back to the normal rhythm (meaning, more outfit posts) and once I get my sewing table all set up, it's more DIY posts for you. ;)

I hope everyone's week is starting out well, and that you're not quite as busy as I am! ♥

Blog ya later,

xoxo

Johanna
