Montreal Diaries: Plateau, Racing and Gluten Free Yummies

Hello my darlings! How are you? ♥ I'm sorry it's been a while since my last post, but I couldn't get myself to sit down and put enough effort into a worthwhile post. And also, I've been insanely hooked into Pokemon Go. These past couple of weeks have been quite crazy, I've been busy at work, I've been walking like crazy after pokemons, our car broke down again and last weekend we were at the cabin with guys. But today, I really needed to sit down, type a little something and get peace of mind.

So, today I'm sharing more shots from our Montreal trip - not entirely in chronological order, but close enough. This post is quite photo heavy, so grab a snack and scroll on!

Red Bull nails

First up are my nails for the trip. I got many compliments for this set, and I must say I was proud of them. I might introduce them more in a future post.

Race essentials

The weather went through everything but true winter while we were on the track side. One day you got sunburned, the next you needed to bundle up in rain poncho, scarf, leather jacket and so on, and you'd still be cold. Canada is exactly like Finland in that aspect.

Yellow Mercedes

In true motorsports fashion, the city had nice cars everywhere. Beside the track, there were many Mercedes-Benz beauties for people to check out.

Poutine. In Frite Alors!, again. So good.

Red Bull fan

Happy little tourist.

Montreal f1 pitsF1 village

Next to the F1 tracks there are all sorts of happenings during the race weekend. This particular truck had some simulator race in it, and I'm guessing the best time of the weekend probably won something. Although I can't really confirm that.

Montreal

One day, we wandered into neighborhood called Plateau, searching for a restaurant that has 100% gluten free kitchen. The area was beautiful, and I had to take pictures of the residential buildings there.

The restaurant we were looking for is called Arepera du Plateau, and they have 100% gluten free kitchen. The restaurant in venezuelan, which was something I had never tried before. They don't serve alcohol, but instead they have these amazing exotic juices you can choose from. I can't remember the fruit this was made from, for the life of me, but it was yummy!

The food I ordered was the beef pocket with black beans and plantain. It was super delicious, and if any of you ever visit Montreal, you should definitely check out Arepera du Plateau. The service was very friendly, the prices are very reasonable and the food is yummy and gluten free. One can't really ask for more.

graffiti

Like I mentioned in a previous Montreal post, the street art there is quite cool. This one is one of my personal favorites we saw around town.

One more flashy car, just because I'm getting into GTA V and this fits that theme.

F1 festival

Attempted snapshot from F1 festival. There were too many people for a tiny one like me to move around, let alone take a picture. But I tried.

Doritos

My biggest mistake in Montreal - or maybe ever: Buying these chips and attempting to eat the whole bag. Even over few days. They don't mess around when they say these are hot. They are. Take my warning and just don't eat them. Unless you like your food mega spicy, then it might be your thing.

This coming from a girl who loves her wasabi in large quantities.

Racing

And lastly, some quite self-explanatory shots from the track. These are at least mostly from the qualifying, and the photos from the actual race day will follow in the next post.

What do you think about this post? Let me know in the comments below!

That's all I have for you today, but I hope I get another part up soon. That probably won't before Monday, but we'll see. In the meantime, you can follow me on social media for all sorts of updates, and I try to get more active in Twitter and Snapchat soon (you'll always find me on Instagram, though). I can't wait to talk to you guys again!

Have a lovely weekend ♥
