12 Days of Christmas: Battle of the Palettes - Blue Blood VS Blueberry Muffin

Ever since I saw someone (and I believe that someone was Angelica Nyqvist) talk about the BH Cosmetics Blueberry Muffin palette, I immediately knew I wanted to get it and see how close the vibes of it are to Blue Blood by Jeffree Star Cosmetics. I know people really like the Blue Blood as a blue palette, but in the current climate many are shifting from JSC to other brands, preferably more affordable ones, so I'm thinking this post could be useful for you as well.

I also ran this through my bestie who thankfully approved so I didn't have to scrap the post, haha. (Love you Vita ♥)

Fall Makeup Inspiration

Let's talk more about the creative stuff, okay? Because with autumn vibes often comes the autumn makeup inspiration. Even though I'm still not one to believe in some colors to only be appropriate in certain seasons, I do sometimes gravitate towards seasonal things after seeing so much of it in social media. And bit of seasonal inspo is so much fun, right?

Current Makeup Favorites

If you're following me on Instagram and ever wondering what products I use to beat my face - because let's be real, I'm not enough beauty guru to list all the things under every single post - today is your chance to take a look into my current makeup routine and the things I prefer

Red Cherry Lashes Review

Today's post is something I'm very excited about, and it took longer than I thought to create but I believe is better to make it properly right away than have to maybe correct many things so that's why this is up a bit later than I originally planned. Hope you can appreciate that.

At the beginning of the month, I got contacted by False Lashes UK about possible cooperation. I'm a big fan of lashes, so I thought this would be a good fit for me. I don't do too many sponsored posts or collabs because most I get offered are either not a good fit for the blog/me or they're sounding unreasonable (looking at you, Chinese companies expecting things for 10$...). I know this is still a hobby for me and I do things when I just have a good while, but that's even more reason to be picky about the collabs I take. So even though I received the products here for free, the opinions are my own and unbiased, like if I had bought these with my own money.

But without further blabbering, let's get into the lash try-ons:

Jeffree Star Alien Palette - Worth The Price Tag?

If you follow me on Instagram, you might know I got some Jeffree Star goodies from my boyfriend. I don't know how I deserved these after the Body Shop Calendar but apparently someone wants to absolutely spoil me. I will talk about them all in this post, but my main focus will be on the Alien Palette, since I'm sure that's what interests most of you the most.

Depotting Broken Palettes + Decluttering my makeup

A while back, I saw YouTube videos about making your own palettes with existing eye shadows and depotting stuff etc. (Like this one from Angelica Nyqvist where she duped a Jeffree Star palette) That made me think about all the beat up palettes I have (without lid and so on as they are old and have travelled/got dropped on the floor), and how I should put the shades into Z-palettes to possibly get more use out of them. So, I hopped on Beauty Bay, and got a couple of palettes and some extra magnets.

Operation No Foundation

So, after all the Halloween looks, and as the dry inside season of winter is coming up, I thought I should consider some actions for my skin to make it feel better. And even though I love an occasional full glam with perfect coverage, I'm also intrigued to get my skin in such shape that I can go no-foundation style most days.

September Rose Cosmetics Slush Palette

This year, I've been buying more colorful eyeshadow palettes inspired by Angelica Nyqvist - as I've shown you in form of talking about colorful NYX and Juvia's Place palettes. Today, I'm sharing another colorful one I've been loving lately: September Rose Cosmetics Slush palette.

xoBeauty False Lashes

One of the most defining things in my makeup routine is having cute lashes. I rarely go without false ones, which you can judge all you want to, but it's how I prefer my looks. Still, I don't necessarily don't like to go too dramatic with mine, and I've found a brand that does quite the perfect matches for my liking.

NYX In Your Element Fire Palette

Lately I've been getting into more colorful makeup. And by lately I mean the last couple of months. So I've invested in couple of kind of bright palettes and one of them I want to share with you today.

March Purchases

So, I know March ended a couple of weeks ago but... I still wanted to make this post. Better late than never, right?

Today, I'm sharing the main things I bought during March. Since we got the move out of our hands, I finally had some budget for buying some fun stuff. And some kind of necessary stuff.

Why I Switched My Cosmetics to Cruelty-free Ones

Today I want to talk about something that is kind of dear to my heart, but also something I've avoided talking about because of controversy. The obvious disclaimer here is that I don't mean to point a finger or make you feel bad about your choices, absolutely no one needs to do things my way. This is just my way of viewing things and what makes me feel good. You do you girl.

NYX Fall/Winter Haul

Hello lovelies! How are you today? ♥ I've been too distracted by everything to sit down and blog lately, but today feels like a day to do so. I've got my feet in a little bath and I'm wrapped in a blanket, so I'm not going anywhere in a while. And I'm loving it.

Other thing I've been loving lately is NYX as a brand. I've been trying out their products this year, and I've been falling in love with them. After all, they're affordable, not tested on animals and super cute on top of that. Below, you can see my latest NYX haul (and two bonus items):

MUA Cosmetics Mini Haul

Hello lovelies!

How are you today? ♥

When you are reading this, I'm already married! The actual celebration is tomorrow, but we had the paperwork done today so this is officially our wedding day. It's also my maid of honor's birthday, so we are celebrating both this weekend. And while we're talking about parties, I feel it's totally appropriate to talk about makeup.

DSC08191 (Large)

I placed this little order on MUA Cosmetics a while back, with intention of ordering new waterproof liner. That was out of stock, but it didn't stop me from getting other stuff.

DSC08197 (Large)

Eyebrow Brush - £1.50

I'm so into eyebrows nowadays, so I had to get a proper tiny brush for drawing them. This was reasonably priced and does the job very well. It's already a necessity for me.

DSC08200 (Large)

MUA Wet Look Liquid Liner - £2.00

Since I couldn't get my favorite eyeliner, I decided to be brave and try out a new one. This makes thicker line than my trusted product, and is more difficult (for me at least) to use, but it is decent as far as liners go, it is a rich black color and has a bit of wet look shine to it.

DSC08203 (Large)
DSC08207 (Large)

Liquid Eyeliner (green & blue) - £1.00

Also got some colorful liners in the hopes of getting warmer weather and creative summer looks. I feel these green and blue ones would go nicely with my style, and once I got some looks done with these, I will show them to you.

DSC08193 (Large)

Swatches of all the previous products and the lipsticks, that I will show you below.

DSC08209 (Large)

Lipstick, shade Flamingo - £1.00

So I was hunting for the perfect soft pink color, and decided to try couple ones since these are so affordable. The shade Flamingo is very light, kind of cold pink that comes off pretty powdery on the lips. Not my favorite consistency, but I kinda love the shade. Swatch below.

DSC08219 (Large)
DSC08212 (Large)

Lipstick, shade Tulip - £1.00

I thought I wouldn't like this one too much since it looked kinda dusty shade of rose in the packaging, but ended up being surprised since it looks very different on the lips. It's a cute, warm baby pink that goes nicely with my skintone. This one would probably look best over a similar lip liner, but looks good on it's own too. It has a nice, moist consistency and it's easy to apply.

DSC08227 (Large)DSC08216 (Large)

MUA Luxe Whipped Velvet Lips - £3.00

This one was kind of an impulse buy, but the name of this shade - Hedonic - was just too awesome to pass. Also, the shade looked amazing. This truly feels very soft on the lips, but I need a bit of practice to get the coverage work better. But I think this is very pretty and that it will get quite a bit of use.

DSC08235 (Large)

So that's my mini haul today, I hope you guys liked it and that it maybe even was a bit helpful. I personally like buying MUA Cosmetics products since they are affordable but still have enough quality to them. I think the brand is great for those who love to try new looks but want to do it on a budget, or for students who love makeup.

I wasn't paid to rave about them, I can only hope I was. And yes, I will be raving abut them again in the future, you can be sure of that.

Have you tried MUA Cosmetics? How did you like them? Let me know in the comments below!

Tomorrow, you will have another scheduled post to read. Tomorrow is also the day of the big party, and I hope I will get plenty of pictures to print out as real photos - as well as few that I can share maybe with you guys. You can follow me on Instgram, Twitter, Facebook and Snapchat to stay tuned with our party mood and then some. Also, remember my #julybeautychallenge on Instagram if you love beauty related content!

Have a fantastic weekend ♥

Starting Summer With Rimmel London

Hello lovelies!

How are you today? ♥

I had a great day at work, perfected with a nice salmon salad dinner when I got home. My man has business elsewhere for a couple of days, so I'm enjoying the time alone binge-watching Once Upon A Time and eating lightly (no red meat for a couple of days, so my body will be thankful). Just now, I'm baking some gluten free bread so I can have warm treat as an evening snack.

Today, I wanted to talk a little bit about cosmetics. I got to test out some Rimmel products, and I really want to share some opinions about them.

Rimmel Rita Ora Nail Polishes Roll In The Grass, Glaston-Berry and Peachella

As you all probably know, I'm obsessed (read: addicted) to nail polishes. Even though I usually go for China Glaze ones, I like to try others every once in a while too. When these three beauties were sent to me, I naturally had to test them out right away. First thing I can say that I absolutely love the names - especially Peachella - because they remind me of summer so much.

DSC07102 (Large)

And here are the swatches. Peachella is a beautiful peach color, very bright and vibrant. I think this is my favorite out of the three. It's a nice alternative for nude polish for summer time. Glaston-Berry is a bright red that actually reminds me of strawberries, so I feel the name is on point. It's very pigmented and I loved using it for nail art. Roll In The Grass is a quite typical minty green, though a little darker than many mints. I have many blueish greens in my collection, so this isn't a very new shade, but it is pretty and I'm sure I will have use for it.

So far, I think these are worth buying. They have good pigment, they are pleasant to apply and they cover well with two coats - even one if you don't mind slight streaks. Especially Peachella is absolutely gorgeous and I think it will look nice with the new neons I ordered on Friday.

Oh My Gloss! Lip Glosses

Okay, so, I'm not too much of a lip gloss user due to the fact I always manage to get my hair in it. But. I think it can look nice, and it can be more moisturizing that lipsticks (especially the matte ones, which I prefer). So I'm all about trying new ones, who knows if I will find one that is a match made in heaven for me.

The shades I tried out are called Go Gloss Or Go Home (the more orange, glittery one) and Glossaholic (cute baby pink). Both are mildly scented, subtle glosses that are easy to wear. They stay on quite well even on a person that is a walking mess like myself.  These babies promise to hold up to 6 hours, but that doesn't happen on my face (it's called user error, I'm always eating or at least drinking water so nothing stays on my lips without correcting throughout the day). If you're a glossaholic, or even a gloss lover, I think you should try these out.

Wonder'full Wake Me Up Mascara in Black

Last, but definitely not least is this fancy green package, mascara. This mascara has vitamins and cucumber in it, so it's supposed to treat your lashes while wearing it. I've been using this daily for a while now, and while I can't say I would've gotten mega lashes out of this, I think my lashes feel a bit stronger and they don't fall off as easily. So, I think it might really moisturize/treat the lashes somehow.

The mascara is easy to apply, it doesn't get too clumpy or anything, and it makes my lashes look quite long and nice. It doesn't fall off throughout the day, but it's easy to take off in the evening. Also, I really just want to give five extra points for the fun packaging. The metallic green and edgy design caught my eye totally.

The products seen in this post have been sent for me to try. However, I didn't have to write a single thing about them, so all the opinions voiced here are completely my own. I hope this review is any helpful for you guys.

Have you tried any of these products? And, what are your current makeup favorites? Let me know in the comments!

Now, this girl needs t hit the bed, so I can be up and awake nice an early for my work shift. I will be back very soon with a new post, so stay tuned my loves!

Have a fabulous day ♥

Makeup Revolution Haul ♥

Heya lovelies!

How are you all? ♥

I'm being super busy with school and everything (meaning I should be writing a report as we speak) so if I don't post too much, please don't hate me. I don't like writing in a rush, because then the quality takes so much damage. I'm sure you understand what I mean. Today, however, I have a haul with swatches for you. On Black Friday, I gave myself permission to spend a little money on beauty products, as I got £25 worth of products free when I spent that amount on the website. I had been dreaming about some of their products, so of course I used the chance. Here's what I got:

DSC03917 (Large)

Whole lot of stuff, I admit, but I'm more of a person that gets a lot at once, rather than buying one or two items at a time. If you like makeup, keep reading, but if not, wait for the next post. But let's get moving!

DSC03929 (Large)

Firstly, the one that broke in the mail. A freebie bronzing powder, Chocolate Shimmer. I fixed this one myself, as it was all shattered, and it still doesn't look too good, but it works nicely. I will be using this once I'm done with my current ones.

DSC03936 (Large)

Another freebie, a mascara. I actually love this one quite much even though I usually use the blackest I can get, and this is only black brown. This is called Amazing Curl Mascara. It looks pretty natural with one or two coats, but builds up nicely after that and you can create great lashes with this.

DSC03937 (Large)DSC03951 (Large)

Ultra Cover and Conceal Palette in lightest shade, as I am so freaking pale. I've wanted a product like this for a while, so when I had to get £6 worth more to my purchase to get the Black Friday gift, this was a sure choice. This felt nice on the skin, and it blends quite easily. Also, the shades go well with my skin tone, so I'm looking forward to using this more. Swatches below.

DSC03957 (Large)DSC03965 (Large)

And then the three things I actually went to buy. Iconic eye shadow palettes. First up, Iconic 1. For those who don't know, these are actually dupes for the Urban Decay Naked palettes. So if you are a student like me, and paying a lot for makeup (even for the high-end ones) isn't necessarily your thing, I suggest you try these out. Or if you are unsure about the Naked shades, order one of these to test them out. I've seen these and Naked palettes swatched next to each other, and you can't really tell them apart. Iconic 1 features wearable neutral shades for your eyes, and this set really compliments any color. You can be sure I will wear these quite a lot in the future. Swatches below.

DSC03968 (Large)DSC03971 (Large)

Next, Iconic 2. This is bit more shimmery than the first one, but full of colors that go together with the first palette. Again, I totally see myself wearing these shades a lot. Swatches below.

DSC03975 (Large)DSC03979 (Large)

Iconic 3, just like Naked 3, has more rosy colors than the other two. It's very romantic in my opinion, and I would definitely love making date looks with this palette. Swatches below.

DSC03980 (Large)DSC03987 (Large)

This was another gift, Mono Eyeshadow, shade Blow Your Whistle. Not necessarily something I would've bought myself, but it's a cool color and I will try to make a look with this one as well. The color payoff could be better here, but I think that could be fixed with a primer. Swatch below.

DSC03991 (Large)DSC03993 (Large)

Black Friday gift, I ♥ Makeup Go! palette. This is quite compact one with contour stuff (blush, bronzer, highlighter) and six eye shadows. Although I don't see the round palette as a great one to carry around with you, I need to say the shades are useful ones. I think you could make quite pretty looks with this palette very easily. Swatches below.

DSC03996 (Large)DSC03999 (Large)

A gift as well, I ♥ Makeup Go to Hell! palette. This is one with great shades for night time looks. I could see these used for sultry, smoky looks, although there are shades that could be used in everyday looks as well. I will be doing some looks with these, if not here, then at least on Instagram. Swatches below.

DSC04001 (Large)DSC04006 (Large)

And the last freebies, some lip glosses. It was fun to get these as they smell so nice, and one can always use a couple of glosses more in their storage. I hadn't tried out Makeup Revolution ones before this, so this was fun. Swatches below.

DSC04009 (Large)collage (Large)

I also swatched the lip products on my lips so you'd see kinda what they really look like. These are quick swatches in bad lighting (I'm a bad blogger, sorry guys!), but I was too excited to wait for a daylight time as I have such busy days on the weeks. But here are the three lighter shades (clear, nude, peach), and as you can see they don't differ much, nor do they look like much on the lips. The texture is pretty basic, and I think these are pretty nice.

collage1 (Large)

Red and pink, a.k.a. ones with more pigment. The red one is more transparent than I thought, but still a cute one. But the pink... Oh, the pink. It's bright, pigmented and amazing. I totally love it a lot, and I'm sure I will use it completely as I love the color so much.

DSC04039 (Large)

Atomic lipstick collection. I have seen these swatched and used in many beauty accounts, and I gotta say I was pretty excited to try them out. Especially the green one, because it seemed very cool.

DSC04045 (Large)

From left to right: Serpent, Ruby, Magnificent, Make It Right and Make Me Tonight. In here, you can already see the color payoff could be even better, but as they are super affordable and build up kinda good, I think they do their job nicely. These I also swatched on my lips.

collage2 (Large)

Magnificent - Make It Right

collage3 (Large)

Make Me Tonight - Ruby

DSC04092 (Large)

And lastly, Vamp lipstick collection. I have been wanting this since it launched, but only now bought it. These dark shades are pretty cool for all kinds of (fall/winter) looks, but also for themed looks like costumes and such. I was most drawn to the red, but as they sold this 3 for the price of 2, I figured I should get the whole collection.

DSC04094 (Large)

Left to right: Black Heart, Rebel With Cause, 100% Vamp. (And apologies if I mixed up the dark ones, as I managed to switch their caps a couple of times during photographing and I'm still not sure which is which. They look more different in some people's swatches, but I didn't get that out of them.)

collage4 (Large)

Rebel With Cause - 100% Vamp
Black Heart

So that's it, my massive haul for this Black Friday, although half of these were gifts that anyone who spent £25 around that time got. Hopefully this was any helpful, and if you'd like me to review any of these more closely - or to make a look with them, just let me know in the comments!

Have you ever tried any of Makeup Revolution's products, and how did you like them?

Now, I'm gonna go and write up a two-page report so that I will actually pass a class. Next time, I will be posting a regular outfit post, so it's not all cosmetics and hauls. Do not worry. Talk to you soon, my darlings!

Have a fabulous day ♥
