What I Read In January

 Hey, my lovelies,

I hope you've had a lovely January! Mine has been quite lovely, getting to hang out with friends, trying new foods (especially vegan ones thanks to a friend of mine), going to see the Gothic Modern exhibition at Ateneum, reviving this blog... All in all this feels like a nice way to start the year. And yet it's been slow enough since it's still the slumber season if you're living the more pagan/witchy lifestyle, as I'm trying to at least to some extent.

This time of the year is so good for just staying home and cozying up in a blanket and just reading. (My dear friends, if I disappear for hours or days and don't answer your messages immediately, this is more often than not why. I'm lost in a book.) And because I've been doing that quite a bit, today I wanted to share what I've read this month:

What's On My TBR List Right Now?

Hey, my loves,

I'm back sooner than I thought - with a short and sweet post. I'm not sure how much I've ever talked about this here in the blog, but as a kid, and a teen, I used to be very into reading. I read so many books, and countless fanfics, and even wrote a couple of silly fics, and novellas and dreamed about either being an author or a book translator. Life had other plans, and while I could write a book if I just put my mind to it, I'm fairly certain the writing and publishing route won't be mine in this life.

That being said, my love for books never died. I had many years' break from reading when I was more lost with what I wanted and who I wanted to be, but in 2023 I found my way back to it. Thanks to the internet raving about ACOTAR, I too decided to check what the fuss was about - and I got hooked. I devoured the whole ACOTAR series, found some that social media described as being "Slytherin-vibed", and remembered exactly why I had always loved reading. (And maybe mentally kicked myself for losing sight of that along the way.)

Book pile

In today's post, I really just wanted to chit-chat a bit about reading. And more specifically, share some of my TBR (To Be Read) list with you! I already told you I aim to read 25 books in 2025 in the previous post, and I know that at least some of those will be books I'm listing in this post.

25 Things I Want To Do In 2025

Hello, my lovelies!

I would assume most might have forgotten who I am, which is fair after pulling a disappearing act for two years. But after re-evaluating things I want to do in life, and what has made me happy in the past, I figured coming back to blogging (even if it might just be for my own amusement and no one read it) would be quite fun. After all, I've been getting back into hobbies that would give me at least something moderately interesting to write about - like reading, knitting, tarot cards, crystals, collecting herbs, taking aesthetic photos...

I'm sure all that (not to mention nails, makeup, and outfits that never went away) will give me something to say that would resonate at least with some people.

If not, this will be just like a very public journal—like it used to be.

Coming back has been brewing in my mind for a hot minute now - for almost a year, I'd say. But figuring out what the hell I'd say after such a while felt like a massive challenge. After mulling over that for months, I just thought I'd post whatever my silly heart desires - no one is paying me to do this, so the only expectations come from myself (which, coming from a sort of a perfectionist, means the bar was unreasonably high).

But that made me think: Expectations... Why not just start off light, and write a little list of things I'd like to do in 2025. Kind of like my own little manifestation list. And the more I thought about it, the more I felt like that really was what I wanted to do.
