Favorite Home Details - So Far

Hey my loves!

I’m hoping your year is starting off nicely, mine has been positively slow-paced, so I can really plan and set goals for the beginning of the year (at least). I’ve been mapping out things I want to post about (both here and on socials), listing some craft projects for the first part of the year, planning my thesis - and most of all adding some more or less finishing touches to our new home.

And as you can tell by the title, today I’m sharing some of my favorite things in our home (not in any particular order). I’ll also talk a little bit about each detail as we go along. I tried to do the pictures a bit artsy way instead of the typical oversaturated/bright neutral influencer way. These speak more to my Slytherin soul this way.

12 Days of Christmas: At Home Hot Beverage Bar for a Small Space

Have you already gotten your home ready for the holidays? Because we sure have. There are some finishing touches I still want to do before I'm 100% happy with it all, but mostly we are done and can just enjoy the holiday vibes.

Before starting to decorate our place, I admittedly watched way too many "Decorate with me for Christmas" videos, and one of them showed this adorable holiday coffee station that was set on a side table with holiday mugs and all that jazz. That made me want to have a cute beverage bar too, however our space is super limited so a whole table for that is not currently an option (but a girl can dream, right?).

So, I did a smaller version, and will happily share mine with you, so maybe you can also create your own.

Let's get right to it:

Organizing Our Walk-In Closet - Finally

Few days' break from blogging and outfit instagramming because I wasn't feeling like myself. I'm still a bit fluish, but getting better by the hour. Although, that's not the only thing going wrong this week, today my car wouldn't start because it's so cold and I think the battery doesn't love it's life. But hey, nowhere but up from here. Right?

Okay, that's how my week has started which feels, dare I say, messy. But at least our walk-in closet isn't that anymore! Which is what I quickly want to talk about today.

Snapshots From The New Home

Finally, the moving is done. It took a lot of effort and some time to get everything look nice, but we actually got the place so ready already that I want to share some little snapshots with you today. I'm sure you'll see more during the Spring, but here are some of my current favorite things in the new place.

Packing Up

Today's post is one that I've been anxious to write for weeks now. It's a little announcement for you so that you'll all know what's going on. I've been silent on the blog for a while now, and not as active on my social medias as I would love to. Reason for that is the fact that I'll be moving into a new place, and that process together with full-time job doesn't leave me free time for anything else. Until next month, that is.

Pics From Christmas

It's been a couple of weeks since I last blogged, and while I had nice posts planned, also life happened and I had to focus on living offline instead of prioritizing all the posts. I'm sorry if that let anyone down. But also, what you don't know is that I spent this Christmas with a new boyfriend, new extended family and got sick just before Christmas so there has been a lot going on. I'm sure next year will be more chill, so I added the planned posts to next holiday season's agenda and will probably prepare them well ahead.

To summarize our Christmas, I'm sharing some pictures of it today. It's not a super long post - those kinds will follow next month - but I thought this was least I could do since I kind of disappeared just before Christmas.

Christmas Decor 2017

Every Christmas, the best part for me is that I get to decorate the house with some Christmas items. Usually I don't go too overboard, and this year is no exception. In this post, I'm sharing the decorations I put up this Christmas.

Blogmas Day 6, Our Christmas Decorations

Hello lovelies! How are you today? ♥ Today has been the Independence Day of Finland, so we've had quite a chill day at home. I feel a bit like I'm coming down with a flu or something, but I hope that will pass because I really don't have the time to be sick right now. But if I will catch something, at least I have to house all pretty to stay in. Wanna see what I mean? Let's have a tour around the apartment and see this year's Christmas decorations!

Lights ♥

Hey lovelies!

How are you all? ♥

I've been doing all sorts of stuff today, and only opened laptop to post this quick post for you. As Christmas is drawing closer, I felt like having lights all over the house is a must. And because they are so pretty, I thought I could share them with you so we can all feel the prettiness and Christmas spirit. If that makes any sense. But without further blabber, I wanna show you our winter/Christmas lights!

I absolutely love having lights everywhere, and I literally have so many I don't even need to have the actual lamps on to see around the apartment when it's dark. And I still feel we could have a couple of more. I'm going crazy, probably. On Friday, we're planning on putting up our tree, so we'll see if I need to get a set or two of lights so that I don't have to take off any that I have already. I don't know what my man thinks about that, either. I will maybe have to sell the idea to him.

Do you have the lights/other Christmas decoration up already?

So, that's my quick little post today, and I hope you guys liked it. I'm currently trying to make my nails dry up so that I could finish the nail art. Like really, the struggle of nail artists... But anyway, I'll talk to you again soon.  Love you darlings!

Have a lovely day ♥

Home Decor Update ♥

Hey there lovelies!

How has your weekend been so far? ♥

We had a date night today, and just had this super fun day just the two of us - me and my fiance. And then I realized it was past midnight and that I hadn't blogged in two days. So it's now later than 2 am and I'm typing this post before hitting the bed. I know, seems crazy, but I really want to get this done.

The exam on Friday was insanely hard and I have absolutely no idea if I have to go redo it, but next time I know how to prepare properly for it. But at least I got a good review on business English, so I'm not completely failing, right?

Anyway, today, we're going to have a tiny little house tour. It's been a while since I did a previous one, and even though too many things haven't changed since that, I thought you guys might like to see into our apartment.

In the kitchen, we have new curtains (thanks mom and dad) and the Ikea stickers, both of which bring the kind of green floral theme there. There's nothing that special in the kitchen, except for the food of course - but once we buy our own place, I will show you my dream kitchen.

 photo DSC02631Large.jpg

My working corner/sewing desk, which is a well organized chaos. I do dream of a better organizational system, but first I seriously need to plan one. It isn't as bad as it used to be though.

 photo DSC02636Large.jpg

I keep my studying stuff and blogging things there, although sometimes - like right now - I do move the laptop to the sofa and actually write there. Because bad writing position is just the best.

 photo DSC02638Large.jpg photo DSC02640Large.jpg photo DSC02632Large.jpg

My favorite thing in this space right now are the curtains (again, thanks mom and dad), which totally make the room better than the plain green ones we had there before. Also notice the workout equipment that don't have a proper place. Whoops.

 photo DSC02645Large.jpg

The place to read, write or whatever. This is a little corner where I can relax without any tech stuff and just do all old-fashioned stuff that don't require any connections whatsoever. And where I will probably spend more time pretty soon as I have a lamp shade to create (more on that project later).

 photo DSC03272Large.jpg

Moving on to the living room side of the area, there are these cat-shaped wine bottles I collect. I don't know what it is about them, but I do love them a lot. And my man likes them too so luckily I can keep them for now.

 photo DSC03270Large.jpg

My first wall clock since forever, our plants and another set of new curtains (seriously mom, you spoiled me with these). And call me crazy, but yes, we have two sets of curtains on our living room area. Because it works for us.

 photo DSC03274Large.jpg photo DSC03277Large.jpg photo DSC03280Large.jpg

The super comfy and cozy couch I am sitting on as I type right now. And some NY themed decor. We should also have a London themed puzzle picture hanging there, but as our walls are a pain in the butt, we can't get hooks, nails or anything stick well enough to make the heavy picture stay. First world problems, right?

 photo DSC03281Large.jpg

Bookshelf and such - and yes, I was watching SATC yet again. It's just so good!

 photo DSC03284Large.jpg

On the bedroom, things are really just the same. I still have more or less unnecessary stuff on my nightstand...

 photo DSC03286Large.jpg

...including my perfume collection I wanna grow by one or two withing the next couple of months or so.

 photo DSC03289Large.jpg

The only things I could really call new are the fluffy blanket I bought from Pori a few weeks back, and the Samsung Tab I got as my mom got a better one. (I seriously have so much stuff that is someone else's old, but it's for the brighter future, right? I tend to use things until they get busted so old ones kinda work fine for me.) Our bedroom is the safe haven for me, no matter how bad day I've had, I can go there, relax with watching videos from the tablet or just go to sleep next to my love, and the world doesn't seem such a bad place after all.

So what I can say is that even though our home isn't like those super fancy ones you see on magazines and TV, it's still somewhat neat and more than that, cozy. I always love coming home and just relaxing after the day. There are a few things I want to make a bit different in the near future, but I'll talk about that once I have the time to actually do something about them.

But, what do you guys think about this post? And, please tell me something about your home decor in the comments below! I'd love to know what you love in interior decor ♥

Our Halloween Decoration ♥

Happy Halloween my darlings!

I hope you're having nice parties today. I'm not, but I finished a pretty confusing class today, so chilling at home is a nice idea. Especially with our cute little decorations, that I will be sharing you below:

Little spider decor (I made the web myself!)...

And a table with treats.

 photo DSC03128Large.jpg photo DSC03130Large.jpg

We have ghost cupcakes and paw-shaped cookies as a treat - both gluten free so I can eat as much as I like, hehe. Both recipes can be found on Martha Stewart's website, but if you want to make gluten free, you have to figure out the flours yourself. It's easier than you'd think. ;)

What kind of decorations do/did you have this Halloween? Let me know in the comments below!

Now, I'm gonna go hit the bed as tomorrow, I will have a hot date with my math book. Steamy, I know. I will also show you what I maybe would've dressed up, if I had a party to go to. So stay tuned for that.

Have a fantastic Halloween weekend ♥

Spring Makeover: Kitchen Edition ♥

Hey everyone!

Hope you've had a lovely start for your week ♥

I've been enjoying my free time as I don't have to work this week, so I can focus more on cooking and training and fun stuff, which is very nice. Also, as I will be spending more time in the kitchen, it should look nice. So, I finally did something to the plain white wall full of little holes and stuff, where our spice shelf is located. See more below!

 photo DSC07792Large.jpg

So what I had to deal with was this white wall here. It's no entirely unpleasant, but I don't like plain white walls that much. Especially ones with little holes and stuff in them. So, on Sunday we headed to IKEA and I picked up some decoration items to spruce this up for the Spring.

I decided to use stickers, because we don't own the apartment and can't do major renovations on our own, but these can be ripped off when we eventually move.

 photo DSC07793Large.jpg

So, when we got home, it was time for little planning. I have no vision whatsoever if I can't plan things visually, so I took out some tape and gently attached the cut out sticker things (with the paper in the back, of course) the way I wanted the layout to be.

After that came the hardest part - attaching the stickers. Okay, so it wasn't that difficult as the stickers weren't huge, but still. And the end result? See for yourselves:

 photo DSC07795Large.jpg

Simple and fresh in my opinion, and totally changes the look of the kitchen.

 photo DSC07798Large.jpg

Of course, whenever the light hits them in the right angle, you will see clearly they're stickers, but personally I don't really mind that. And these are also the type of plants I cannot manage to kill with the lack of watering, so that's just perfect.

 photo DSC07796Large.jpg

All in all, I love our little renewed kitchen wall, and the best thing about this renovation is that it only cost 13 Euros. ;) Goes to show that a little bit can go a long way with just a bit of creativity. This Spring I will enjoy cooking even more because the environment is so pretty.

Have you guys done any Spring makeovers of any sorts? Let me know below! And also, tell me what you think about this little DIY project I manage to pull off. ♥

Once again it's time for me to go catch some sleep, and tomorrow, I will be having quite the day with workout, homecooking and Spring cleaning. Yeah, I know, my life is so exciting (not). But I'll get back to you as soon as I can, because I have loads to post for you!

Have a fabulous day ♥
