What I Read In February and March

Hey my loves,

I'm painfully behind posting this, but it's better late than never! I had scheduling issues followed by technical issues, hence the post is only coming up now. February was a very good reading month, I got four whole books read, which means I got really ahead of my goal. March (and April) have been slower, but I've still gotten a couple of books read in both months. I'm trying to keep the reviews short and sweet, and most importantly, spoiler-free.

Without further ado, let's get into the books:

onyx storm

Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros 5/5

The first book I finished in February was the much-hyped Onyx Strom. To me, it definitely lived up to the hype, and I can't wait for the next part! Even though I love a good smutty read as much as any other girly, I actually really enjoyed that this one had only some intimate scenes here and there, and the focus was more on the politics and warfare etc. The dragon storylines had me in tears several times. I'm very much excited to read the next part once it comes out - which is not even confirmed any further than that it's coming. So a long wait ahead of me, but I'm just hoping it's worth it!

love on the brain

Love On the Brain by Ali Hazelwood 4/5

This was just a fun, light read between fantasy books. Very predictable elements, since I've read a lot of romance over the years, but I still enjoyed this one a lot. I just generally like Ali Hazelwood's writing, and the fact she tends to write women in science. An intelligent female protagonist is what I love!

metal slinger

Metal Slinger by Rachel Schneider 5/5

This book. Oh my. I don't know what to say about it without spoiling too much to anyone looking to read this. Except maybe what Angelica Nyqvist said in her videos; this made me question how I was reading the book. There was a twist I haven't really come across yet in other books, so it absolutely threw me, and now I'm impatiently waiting for the next part!

beyond the wand

Beyond the Wand by Tom Felton 4,5/5

I feel uncomfortable overanalyzing someone telling their life story, because I don't feel like I can judge how personal experiences should be told. So scoring this feels weird. But, I'd give it 4,5. Why not 5? Just because I felt it could've been even more, somehow. I know that's a dumb thing to say about someone sharing their life, especially because Tom's story was quite real and raw, and didn't really sugarcoat anything.

king of scars

King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo,  5/5 (Finnish translation Kuninkaan Arvet)

This was by far my favorite in the Grishaverse series so far - and I'm already so excited to eventually find the second part (Rule of Wolves) translation in the local library. This book just had me in a chokehold from beginning to end, I loved so many characters, I loved the way Leigh Bardugo writes imperfect characters because it makes them feel more real and human. Such a fantastic book, and such a nice translation.

dawn of onyx

Dawn of Onyx by Kate Golden 4/5

This was a solid read, I really liked it, but not a 5-star read because it had many very predictable elements so it didn't feel like it was giving anything new. But like I said, a solid book, I like the gemstone theme, and will be quite excited to read the next one on the series hopefully soon!

If you want to follow my reading journeys more real-time, I recommend following me on Goodreads (click here) or Fable - and I even collect all my reads to Tiktok as well as sneaking some of them on my Instagram stories. So I'm hoping to see you in any of these platforms soon! My next post will most likely be me showing our Ostara altar, and after that I'm planning on doing a little recap of how my yearly goals are going so far. Expect those to be up sooner than this was (as if that is so hard to beat haha).

Talk to you again soon!
