Sunny Day and a Bridge

Hey lovelies!

How are you? ♥ Did you have a lovely weekend?

I sure did, though I've spent it all pretty much on stressing about school things. Oh well, two weeks and I'm free for a couple of months. ;) So I'm gonna bite through it and then I can be proud of myself.

I also want to say I'm sorry for not commenting, answering comments, or even posting that much. I just have to put my studies as my #1 priority, and I hope you all understand that. But after two weeks I can participate more - that's a promise! ;)

So, I'm going to keep this post quite short, as I still have a ton of things to do, and I really, really want to see what you all have posted recently. :) That being said, here's my look from week ago:

Skirt: Lindex (thrifted)
Top: Vero Moda
Jacket: H&M
Shoes: Puma
Bag: I guess it's H&M, correct me if I'm wrong.
Scarf: Nelly.com
Aviators: Citymarket

So this was my look week ago, and I can say that now that I'm writing this, I'm wearing a skirt as well - you'll see that later ;) But the outfit in the pictures was a casual combination of things I like, and as the weather was awesome (like it is today) I loved wearing a skirt. I usually pair skirts with more feminine shoes, but because we were taking a walk by the lakeside, in a little forest, I thought the high tops were more useful. (As it was wet, muddy, and so on, and these are easier to clean than my ballet flats.)

Oh, and isn't the bridge there just cool? Imagine it when it's more green around there! ;)

How do you like my casual outfit?

Inspired by many, many sources, I finally tried a French mani with black tips. The nail art you're about to see is not the tidiest I've ever done, but I tried to choose photos that made my nails the most beautiful :D
So, here's my take on nude nails with black tips:

As you can see, I messed the bows up a bit when putting on the top coat, but otherwise, it looks okay to me. It was a fun mani, and I will do it again some day. ;)

Have you tried this manicure yourself? How do you like my take on it?

As said, I'll keep it short today. So now, I'll head to do some school stuff, and after that, I'll come back to read your amazing work! :)
I hope you all had an amazing weekend, and that you will have a fabulous week! ♥

Skirt Weather, Finally!

Hey lovelies!

How are you doing today? ♥

Today I was having my speaking skill test on Swedish class, and I have to say, I was a bit terrified about that. Even though I can be very (if not too) articulate in Finnish and English, Swedish isn't a strong point for me. Nevertheless, in Finland you have to know your Swedish as it is a official language... It went well, though. ;)

You know how I've been complaining about the weather for the last month? Not anymore! I take the risk of jinxing it by saying: It's finally Spring in Finland! Yay! That has made me super active (correction: hyper active) and there's so much I wanna post here for you all. ♥

But before I get ahead of myself, here's an outfit from Saturday. We went to spend yet another boys' night with my fiance and his friend - they were watching sports broadcasts, I was trying to study - but I was not going to dress like a boy, no matter what the event. So I put on my flea market find and styled it as follows:

Skirt: Lindex (thrifted)
Top: GinaTricot
Cropped cardigan: H&M
Wedges: SpiritStore
Belt: mom's old
Scarf: Nelly.com
Necklace: gift from mom
Bangle: JC
Pearl bracelet: mom's old
Feather earrings: H&M

I was kinda going for edgy and chic with this, and I was just playing around with the items just because it was warm enough to rock a short skirt... I also noticed that I've learned to love florals this season. So don't be alarmed if there's more of it i the future. ;)

What do you think about the look? Yay or nay?

A few of you were asking/commenting about the pink colour in my hair on the previous post. As you can probably tell, it's not permanent. It's actually this new product from IsaDora (more info here), which I found in that irresistible pink shade. I just had to try it out. The product seems to be limited edition, so I don't know how easy or hard it is to find it.

Personally I like the mascara a lot, because I've wanted pink dye to my hair for a long time now, but all the wash-off colours usually flake and stain, which I hate. With IsaDora mascara, I did a little experiment. I slept with it on, and also had white shirt on even though I had the dye in my hair. And it didn't stain! Big points for that.

So, I try not to use it all before Summer - unless I manage to get a second mascara - so that I can play a little with my beach look. ;)

Not much more to say this time, I'm super tired now, but I still have another post for you (it'll be up on the Made by Me as soon as possible). So I'll go write that now, and I wanna wish you all a wonderful latter part of the week! ♥

Ps. Did you notice you can now find me on Fashiolista as well? I've had the profile for months, I just forgot I had it :D

Casual One For the Weekend

Hey lovelies,

How are you? :)

I'm finally getting the hang of blogging again - I've gotten inspired by everything possible and I already have a few posts in store for you in advance :) I try to use all the free little moments I find to take photos and be creative, to keep things running through the madness called "the end of the school year".

Anyone else being overly busy at the moment?

Though so.

Anyways, when it comes to style, I've been teaching myself the art of mix-and-matching. Luckily, there are bloggers like Tanvi and Ash Louise who show you how to wear an item in many different ways. As I have mentioned before, that's my personal style challenge this year. ;)

Do you have a personal style challenge this year? If so, what is it?

And now, here's some layering I created earlier this week, this was a nice little look for hanging around and reading. :)

Jeans: Cubus
White top: H&M
Pink top: GinaTricot
Shirt: GinaTricot (thrifted)
Bag: (actually, I don't remember where it's from... oops.)
Shoes: Puma
Bracelet: mom's old ♥

That was a day I didn't care so much for dressing up much and glamming up and so on, so I just layered some cute colours and comfy materials. Those mint green jeans are one of my favourite items in my closet at the moment, and I'm constantly thinking of new ways to sport them.

Obsession, much? Of course not.

Also the items from flea market I showed you on the previous post have been a huge inspiration this week. I'm still head over heels with everything I bought. :)

What's your biggest inspiration/obsession this Spring?

Okay, so, before I stop the blabbering and go to watch an episode or two of Pretty Little Liars, I'd love to show you some nail art. Very simple this time, and I hope you'll like it. ;)

Mint green and lace, totally trendy right now. And yes, a tiny bit of leopard once again... :D I used Konad plate, white Konad polish, and Rimmel's I Love Lasting Finish, shade 045 Misty Jade. (And of course base coat and top coat!) :)

What do you think? Like it?

Now, I want to wish you all a lovely weekend - or what's left of it! :)

Let the Spring Begin, Please?

Hey lovelies!

How are you doing today? And how has your week started?

Mine has been great so far, my boss confirmed I can continue at work through the Summer, which was financially a huge relief for me. I also had an exam on Monday morning, isn't that just the best way to start the week? :D I've been also catching up with my school work, as there are a couple of deadlines this week. :)

I was once again spending my weekend with my wonderful boys (fiance and his best friend), and as I'm still a bit shy with the posing, I didn't got as many photos I had planned on having. But hey, at least we had a fabulous time. ;) Luckily for you, I found a moment yesterday (before my work shift) to take some photos for you.

One thing also keeping me busy is cleaning my closet. I've been going through it, removing items I know I won't be wearing. That kind of gave me reason to visit the flea market yesterday... So much for cutting back on shopping, huh? I must say I found quite a nice pile of things (I shouldn't have, but...). Coming home I noticed they all played along so nicely, that I decided to coordinate the whole closet more or less with their help. My goal is to have a closet where I can pair any top with any bottom, and make the whole thing look great effortlessly. I still have a long, long way to go, but it's worth trying, isn't it?

Anyway, you're probably waiting the pictures already. So enough of the blabbering. And here's my haul:

Photobucket

Beige H&M jacket, black baggy skirt, and dark green Hello Kitty canvas bag.

Photobucket

Neon yellow dress, white oversized shirt, and a floral skirt.

Photobucket

See-through knit (Mango) both in white and in dark brown, and jeans I'll cut into shorts (my next DIY project post!).

So, nice basic items, from my favorite brands. Who can guess how much I paid for these?

Under 30 euros.

Yes, really ;) I mean, that's more than I pay for most of the individual items I buy. Not bad for a haul, right?

Do you have hauls on flea markets like I do? And what's your favorite flea market?

So then, I have been searching new combinations in my closet, just for the sake of creativity. What I've learned so far, is that a great basic item can really put a whole outfit together. Like in the photos below, taken just before I headed off to work.

Jeans: Cubus
Top: H&M
Blazer: Mango
Coat: Mango
Boots: Kenkä Cosmos
Scarf: my mum's old
Earrings: H&M
Necklace: H&M
Bracelets: H&M (the one with keys), DIY (the one with crosses), and mum's old (pearls)

I was feeling great with this look, though I'm a bit disappointed I didn't have the time to photo this on Friday, when I first wore it, with curly hair and all. Instead, you have photos of me squinting my eyes in a wanna-be-sunlight. Oh, well. :D I'm so in love with that lace blazer from Mango, I mean seriously, I could wear it with every day! And it really spices up any outfit nicely, doesn't it? :)

So now it's your turn. What do you think of the look? Do you have pieces in your wardrobe that can tie any outfit together?

I wanted to try something new with my nails, so I decided to try to add some bling to my manicure. As it was my first time trying this, I kept it quite casual, and here's what it looks like:

White nails, pink pattern and little flower bling on both ring fingers and thumbs. Cute and girly, right? ♥

Then, a random little thing to the end of this post; three things making my life a little bit more towards Spring this week:

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

1. I got a new little piercing on my left ear. 2. Our living room garden. 3. DIY lace skirt.

What are the things making you feel like Spring at the moment? Dare to share with me! ♥

Have a lovely week!

Makeup, Divas and a Lot of Accessories

Hey lovelies,

Guess who's back on track? ;)

How have you all been? ♥ I wanna start this post by thanking you all for your "get well" wishes, they totally made my day! :) I have the most amazing readers ever!

Does anyone remember me telling about the makeup experiment with my cousin? The thing where I try to model and she puts a ton of makeup on my face?

Well, that's what I was up to on Saturday. I must warn you, these aren't your basic daytime looks. (And, I'm not a model, so the poses are a bit off...) But here you see what we did:

Makeup #1

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

This one had a little bit of everything in it. My cousin was trying different techniques and colours, and I had fun just sitting there while someone did my face. (Mind you, this was for fun and learning, not for an ANTM shoot.)

Makeup #2

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

A doll-sort-of look. This would be so cool for Halloween, because at least in my own opinion, I looked scary. :D Anyone else seeing me as a serial killer in here?

I thought so.

We also had a true little diva running around. My cousin's Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever.

Photobucket

My fiance tried to pose alongside her, but she refused to share her spotlight. Instead, she demanded petting.

Photobucket

I've never seen a dog that's so eager to pose. I mean really, she comes in front of the camera, sits down and looks adorable - without anyone telling her to. Amazing! ♥

Photobucket

Doggie playing in the snow. ♥ The reason I'm posting these doggie pictures is my love for the breed, I've wanted a toller for a couple of years now, and seeing this little miss here made me love them even more. So, don't be too surprised if one of these years you'll see me holding a puppy like that, calling it my own baby. ;)

Wait, you're saying I should get on already and show some fashion?

Very well. This is the look I had on Saturday, but replayed it yesterday while I was being sick at home and tried to make myself feel better by dressing up - which worked, my fever went totally away. ;) Anyway, here's some casual look.

Outfit of the day

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

T-shirt: GinaTricot
High-waist jeans: GinaTricot
Bolero: DIY
Wedges: SpiritStore
Feather necklace: Seppälä
Pearl earrings: H&M
Wing ring: Nelly.com
Flower ring: Seppälä
Bracelet: DIY

So I over-accessorized. A lot. But to me, that's what made the look. ;) I would've loved an oversized, baggy top/shirt with the high-waist jeans, but as I don't own one (yet) I opted for a tee that I tucked loosely in to the jeans. It's not as great as I know a baggy shirt would've been, but... (Btw, don't you love the print? "Feeling lucky?" and the Lucky Cat, Maneki Neko ;))

What do you think about this look? Was it too overboard with the accessories?

And you know what's left...

Yes, my darlings, nail art. ;)

This time I was inspired by ocean colours and decided to combine it with leopard print, and here's what it looked like. :)

Manicure of the day

I used three different shades of blue/turquoise, trying to create an ombre kind of effect with the help of a makeup sponge, and then added leopard print with the Konad stamping kit.

Do you like it?

Because I thought it was cool. :)

Anyways, I'm having an exam, again, tomorrow, so I'd better head on to catch up with my reading, but if this wasn't enough of my babbling, you can check out the latest DIY project here. ;)

I hope you're all having a fabulous week - or what's left of it - and I promise I try to be back on the normal posting rhythm from this day forward. And yes, that means I'll be commenting more to your blogs as well, ain't that nice! (Gosh, it's always so nice to be back ♥)

Blog ya later!
