Stripes vs Silver ♥

Hey lovelies!

How are you today? ♥

I'm pretty much over the moon since (even though I try to stay the heck away from heavy subjects) we finally took a big step in Finland towards completely legalizing same sex marriage. As I'm all about loving whoever you please - as long as it doesn't hurt anyone, this is pretty big for me. But you know, it's all over media so I will not go too much into that. I'm just pro human rights, not taking any other side considering the subject.

But in today's post, I wish to show you these two new nail designs. I really loved them both and I hope you will too!

DSC03194 (Large)

First up, some leopard print, stripes and studs. I liked this unusual color combo which I wouldn't have even thought if it wasn't for the studs here. The whole manicure was built around those, and I think I did quite a nice job with them.

DSC03208 (Large)DSC03214 (Large)

After the brown nails, I had no idea what to do for the rest three. Finally I did decide on doing stripes, but now that I look at these I think it would've been fun to do some saran wrap. Maybe next time though!

DSC03202 (Large)

Shades used here were China Glaze At Vase Value, China Glaze Desert Sun, Essie Licorice and Ciaté Heirloom. As you may know, I don't usually use browns on my nails, so this is that way very different than most of my creations. The studs used are from Born Pretty Store.

Then, something little more party-like.

DSC03247 (Large)

This one is a mani with lots of sparkle and all. As it is holiday season, I figured the right thing to do is to create a design that might inspire at least some of you to do silvery nails for parties. I loved this mani a lot, and even though many might say they're over the top, I personally don't think so.

DSC03269 (Large)DSC03252 (Large)

The shades I used here were China Glaze Elephant Walk, China Glaze Lorelei's Tiara and IsaDora Disco Ball. I think I was kinda inspired to do this because I actually watched Frozen for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I know, I'm so late on that train. The rhinestones I used are from Born Pretty Store.

DSC03259 (Large)

I absolutely loved the ring finger nails, somehow that all glam felt so nice for once. And, the rhinestones stayed on pretty well, even though I was afraid they would fall off right on the next day. Luckily that wasn't the case. The matte finish felt like the right one for this, just to make it a bit different. This would look gorgeous with a shiny top coat as well, but the matte one was more me.

So these are my things for you today. I hope you enjoyed this post at least a little bit. ;)

What are your thoughts about these nails? Let me know in the comments below!

Tomorrow, it's time for a little Pori road trip again. I'm so excited for that as it actually means we are outside during daylight and can finally take a round of outfit pics. Yay! I can't even decide what to wear, there are so many looks I'd like to photograph but I can only wear one. First world problems, right? But anyway, I'll talk to you tomorrow, or on Sunday, depending on how long our trip takes. But follow me on social media platforms for more material, if that's what you like.

Have an amazing weekend ♥

Army Inspired ♥

Hey lovelies!

How are you today? ♥

I have enjoyed a day off from school today, even though I had an online exam to take. But seriously, an exam you can take home doesn't really feel like one. I was also supposed to go to our class' pre-Christmas party, but after going to the nurse and taking my final Twinrix shot, I have been too tired to really go anywhere. But I've been trying to give new life and speed to my old laptop so that I could maybe work with it before getting a new one.

Today, however, I'm going to share this quick outfit post with you. This is something I wore to school last week so finally I have something to post that isn't super old, haha.

Sweater: secondhand
Camo pants: secondhand
Combat boots: Skobox
Necklaces: Gina Tricot, my fiance's box

So again, a very basic look and all, but I just felt like wearing camo pants and then decided to go all army that day. Not sure if anyone else noticed than my man back home, but I really liked this myself. The light is again what it is, but seriously I rather even take a not so nice picture than let the blog go without any outfits. I'm trying to take some nice ones this weekend when we have the time while it's not dark outside. I promise you!

But what do you think about this look? Let me know in the comments below!

Now, I'm gonna prepare tomorrow's post a bit (I'm kinda excited about it), do my nails and have some time alone with my man. But I'll talk to you again tomorrow!

Have a fantastic day, and Happy Thanksgiving to all my american friends out there ♥

Denim Shirt ♥

Hey you guys!

How are you lovelies today? ♥

I'm personally feeling pretty awesome, as the single most biggest thing for school this week is over and done with (which is the research interviews I was talking about in the previous post), and even though we still have a presentation and an exam to go, I feel already relieved with the week. I don't know how to describe the feeling, I just feel like I can take on the world and all the challenges right now. And that's pretty cool.

Today I wanna share a couple of photos from little over a week ago, when we went to a shopping trip with my man. I didn't really get much as I'm on a budget, but it was fun to check out the stores and see what I could get once the Christmas sales start.

DSC03297 (Large)

We ate on Sticky Wingers, which is a fun little restaurant located in the restaurant world of the Ideapark mall. Sticky Wingers works together with another restaurant called Coyote, and no matter which one you eat in, you can order on both menus. We decided to get burgers from Coyote's menu.

DSC03296 (Large)DSC03295 (Large)DSC03302 (Large)

Notice the phone addict having the pink thing on the table all the time... Bad me. But, in my defense, I let it go once the food came and I had taken a picture of that.

DSC03306 (Large)

I opted for a gluten free chicken ranch burger, which was super delicious! If you, like me, are a coeliac, you can eat in Coyote without worries. They can make all their burgers and most of their other dishes with gluten free ingredients, and they taste just as good as the "regular" food. After eating, we went around the shops trying to find some little things for both of us.

And lastly, my outfit of the day. I'm not 120% happy with the lighting here, but I managed to make to colors at least somewhat decent so these shall do.

Jeans: secondhand
Tee: Cubus
Denim Shirt: Lee Cooper
Necklace: Boohoo
Combat boots: Skobox
Earring: Gina Tricot

I really loved this look a lot, and I can honestly say I wore this at least three times in a short while. The denim shirt is something I had accidentally left in our old apartment's storage, but the new people there were kind enough to let us know it's there. And I have loved wearing it since. And the shoes are something I can't get enough of, as I've been looking for a nice pair of combat boots for a while now, and when I saw these, I simply had to have them. They're perfect. This whole look was very basic as it is, so I just threw in a statement necklace to give that little something to it.

What do you all think about the look here? Let me know in the comments!

Now, I will go to relax a bit and then prep myself a bit for the school day tomorrow. I think I need to go through our presentation material, as well as to read another group's work so that I can ask questions about it. But that's not a bad homework at all, don't you think? I'll talk to you again tomorrow or on Thursday, depending on how much stuff will come on my way. But stay tuned on my social media platforms as I update them a bit more frequently than the blog here. ;)

Have a fantastic day ♥

Gold Details vs Kitties ♥

Hello my darlings!

How was your weekend? ♥

I was actually planning to blog yesterday, but life had other plans and my anxious little head decided to throw a 12-hour long panic attack on me. Yeah, I have tendency to anxiety when I get super stressed. Not necessarily a big deal but not too comfortable either. But luckily we had fun night with the boys so that made me feel loads better. Also, I filmed a nail art video - though only after editing I can tell if that is any useful to anyone, other than for me as I learn how to edit.

Tomorrow, I need to step outside my comfort zone and get to interviewing random people in the city. That's for a school project as we have to do a research for a company to pass a class. All fun, except for the interviewing. Not that I don't like people, but I get easily socially anxious. Even though I usually don't show it and never really talk about it with people. But hey, I told you now, so, friends?

Anyway, for today, I planned I'd share these nail art designs with you. And this also serves for practice on how to use a Flickr account. I'm figuring I should try to use that too, as so many bloggers seem to get better quality out of that than they do with Photobucket. I will go on and see about that. But let's get to the pics!

DSC03146 (Large)

So the first manicure today is this dark red (it looks black, but let me assure you, it's red) base with pretty gold details. I did this solely to try out the leaf gold flakes, but it came out kind good!

DSC03140 (Large)DSC03139 (Large)

The only polish shade I used is China Glaze Crimson, which just might be my favorite autumn shade for nails. The striping tape, rhinestones and the leaf gold are from Born Pretty Store.

DSC03137 (Large)

I really, really loved wearing this mani, although the tape starting coming off the next day. I'm so bad with it. But hey, something I can learn to be better at.

DSC03133 (Large)

The second one is not as autumny, but at least as cute one.

DSC03168 (Large)

This one is a combination of pastel blue, glitter sandwich and cute decals. This was my first time using decals, and I can definitely recommend them to anyone who struggles with painting pictures on nails, but would still want to have more than plain colors or like stripes or something. They are so easy to use, and they stay on perfectly, at least once you add a top coat.

DSC03163 (Large)DSC03160 (Large)

These decals are from Born Pretty Store, and the polishes I used are China Glaze At Vase Value and It's A Trap-Eze! Both of the polishes have been used in so many of my manis, and will probably be seen many times more. Hope you guys still love them as well.

DSC03156 (Large)

I absolutely loved this kitty mani, I have even read the manga where the cat, Chi, is from. And if you haven't seen it, you should. It's adorable! And if you check it out, you will totally understand why I had to have these - if you don't get it already.

DSC03148 (Large)

That's everything I have for you today. I hope you enjoyed this somewhat quick post, and yet again, sorry for giving the silent treatment over the weekend. But I had such a great time with my boys that I wouldn't have exchanged it to time alone on the laptop, which I know you understand.

Still, I wanna know what you think about this post, so let me know in the comments! ♥

Like I mentioned, tomorrow I will be somewhat stuck with my school stuff, but I will try to get something written on Tuesday the latest (we have interviews then as well, but I'm sure we will get things done in timely fashion). I'm so bummed we don't have the proper time to photograph when there's daylight, but I try to make the most of it on weekends and so on. But don't hate me if I don't get too many outfits up, or at least ones with nice outside background. I try to compensate with lifestyle posts though!

But now, I must stop blogging and start getting ready to bed. Talk to you soon though!

Have a lovely start for your week ♥

Trip to Porvoo ♥

Hello my lovelies!

How are you all today? ♥ I just started my weekend today (it's pretty amazing to have Friday off!) and I thought I'd finally post the pictures of our Porvoo trip here. It's been a month since we were there, but due Halloween and all sorts of hectic times at school, I haven't been able to use time to pick the photos and adjust the colors and all. You know how it is. ;)

Anyway, because I don't want to make an overly long post, let's get to the pictures, shall we? I was travelling with my man and my parents, and this was kinda ex tempore trip as my mom only asked us to go few days earlier. My dad had a business trip, and the rest of us didn't have any plans for the days, so it was perfect timing.

A picture of our hotel room at the Kumpeli Spa in Heinola, where we stayed the night. And below, pictures of our dinner the night we arrived:

Delicious dessert drink, kind of a hot chocolate version of Irish Coffee. Yummy! ♥

 photo DSC02788Large.jpg

Next morning, we had a big breakfast before getting into the car and driving to Porvoo. As you can again see, I just love, love, love my food. You gotta eat to stay healthy, right?

Now, to Porvoo. Porvoo is a relatively small city - or should I say town - kinda close to the capital Helsinki. I was born there, and have lived some years of my childhood there, so it will always have a place in my heart. The most beautiful thing about Porvoo is absolutely the old part of the town, by the river. It has amazing wooden houses and beautiful streets, and even though it was raining when we visited, you can (hopefully) see the beauty in these pictures.

 photo DSC02791Large.jpg photo DSC02792Large.jpg photo DSC02793Large.jpg photo DSC02795Large.jpg photo DSC02797Large.jpg

Riimikko is a toy shop me and my mom used to visit when I was a little girl. I have many beautiful memories from there, and I am so, so happy it is still up and running after all these years. They sell very cute and traditional stuff like card games, wooden toys, paper dolls and dollhouse decoration. I didn't dare to ask whether it would've been okay to take pictures, but if you ever visit Porvoo, go see this shop. It's magical.

 photo DSC02798Large.jpg photo DSC02799Large.jpg photo DSC02806Large.jpg photo DSC02817Large.jpg photo DSC02821Large.jpg

My outfit of the day, which is kinda very too layered, but it kept me warm and I liked it, so that's all that really matters.

 photo DSC02825Large.jpg photo DSC02839Large.jpg

Jeans: Gina Tricot
Faux fur vest: secondhand
Leather jacket: H&M
Shoes: PUMA
Shirt: H&M
Scarf: Cubus
Beanie, Bag: gifts from my mom and dad

We also went to this amazingly cute coffee shop called Café Helmi, and they sell so, so cute pastries in such a lovely, intimate setting. This is also a place I remember visiting when I was a little girl, and would love to show you pictures, but, it's not allowed to take photos in there. We figured it's because of the old pictures, paintings and stuff. But I didn't know that before taking this picture of our treats, so I think I will be a bit of a rebel and share it here. Rules are meant to be broken. Or, you know, something.

 photo DSC02848Large.jpg

I love the fact they have different gluten free options. Two of those, the smaller looking pieces, are both gluten free, which was perfect for me and mom as we are both eating gluten free. It's also so sweet that they serve the coffee in small pots and tea in adorable cups. If you love to really enjoy your coffee/tea/cake/etc., you must check them out. I totally get why mom has taken me there as a child. I wish I could show you the cake & treat display, because it is so totally cute!

After this, we went to few other shops, I got some nice little things and so on, but these are all the pictures I have for you today. I hope you enjoyed travelling with us today!

Let me know what you think about this post in the comments below! ♥

It's so perfect I decided to post this now, as my man is going on a pre-Christmas party trip with his co-workers tomorrow, leaving me all alone at home. Which is nice as I can play lame music and watch chick flicks all I want - but seriously I'd take travel over that any time. But, I do have my math book again, so... Not getting lonely, haha. I might also try to learn some video making again, taken that my laptop will be working with me. I'm itching to do a nail art video or something, if you have anything you'd like to see, feel free to tell me. But anyway, I'll talk to you again soon!

Have a lovely day ♥
