How To: Leather Skirt On Winter

Hey lovelies!

How are you? ♥

While you're reading this, we're moving - lifting too many boxes, trying to not make a mess, cleaning up afterwards, driving the same route about 72 times in just few hours... The usual. This morning I have taken care of our Internet connection in the new apartment, so there shouldn't be much delay for the future posts. Yay!

I'll be posting about the new place as soon as I can, and you will probably get to see the not done version before we get everything in place so I can make a real post about our new home. But more on that later.

Today I wanted to share my take on wearing a short leather skirt in Winter. Now, of course it means that the temperature can't be too low, otherwise you just end up catching a cold.

For outside, add a comfy coat, and a scarf of your choice. But the outfit itself is as follows:

Combining both girly and comfy, which sometimes feels like a challenge.

Photobucket

Photobucket

The knit has this fun high-low hem, so I thought it would be nice to show you the backside of it, too :)

Photobucket

Photobucket

Add in the proper accessories, and you're done!

Photobucket

Skirt: H&M Coat: Only Knit: Gina Tricot Boots: SpiritStore Tights: H&M Belt: Seppälä Infinity scarf: Gina Tricot Necklace: H&M Rose ring: SpiritStore

I really enjoyed wearing this outfit, this would've deserved prettier hair but ignore that. :D I didn't plan the matching coat and skirt, but funnily enough they were exactly the same color. I'm still on the fence whether that was good or bad. The manicure you can see a bit will be up in future posts.

So, what do you think about this outfit? Do you wear skirts on winter, and how do you style them? ♥

I hope that in the next post I would get to show you our new place (the not so done version of it) but no promises as I don't know how busy we will be. If you wanna be up to date with everything, I encourage you to take a look on my Instagram page (find me there with the name @silvertigo). I'll try to keep up with blogging as much as I can, but can't really tell when I get to post next time. Hopefully soon, though.

I hope you're all having a fantastic week! ♥

Blog ya later,

Ciaté Nail Art

Heya lovelies!

How are you today? ♥

I'm having an extremely busy day once again, which is why I had written this one beforehand for you to read. I can't believe that in couple of days we will be already living in our new apartment! To make everything easier, I'm cutting classes this week so I can use the time for packing. And no, I don't recommend cutting classes for you, my younger readers, and I assure you, I'll be keeping up with the study material after the move when I will have the time for that. ;)

This week is also different because I will be having nude/bare nails for the whole week (from Monday to Sunday) to let my nails breathe - but that is why I have these nail posts in store for you. Even if I don't have the time to create anything for posts for one week, that still doesn't stop me from blogging. And that's a security I love.

Now, today's post, as the title suggest, is about nail art I've done with Ciaté products. Some of you might remember the calendar I had for this Christmas (if you want, you can see it here!), and might remember it was full of nail art stuff. I was very, very curious to try Ciaté, as I had only heard about the polishes. They are so pricey to get in Finland that I haven't been able to get them. Until I got the calendar.

(And speaking about nail polishes and prices, I might just have the perfect thing for you all later on. I'll be testing an online store that sells one of my favorite brands on great prices - and I'll be sharing the whole experience with you next month or so. Stay tuned!)

Photobucket

First up is this girly little mani I did with baby pink Ciaté polish, topping it with some Konad stamping, and creating a nice sparkly accent nail with two silver polishes.

Photobucket

I've somehow taken my nail art down a little bit - not as many colors and details in one mani, and more classic elements. I don't know if it's affected by the simple and classic Spring fashion, but does that really matter? :D

Photobucket

I wish the stamp would've been more visible - later I discovered it's more efficient to use other than Konad polishes.

Photobucket

The other mani today was even more simple than the first one. I used this gorgeous black polish with gold glitter in it, and topped off the accent nail with a golden crackling polish from MUA.

Photobucket

Photobucket

This was one of those rare occasions I tried to take a daylight shot for a comparison to the ones taken with flash. I don't know if this really gives anything more to you, but I decided to add it in anyways.

Photobucket

So, two simple manicures, both based on amazing Ciaté polishes.

But, what do you think about these two manicures? ♥

I try to write another post or two this week, but no promises as I'm extremely busy - like you already know. If nothing else, I'll be back on Monday.

I hope everyone is having a fun week!

Blog ya later,

Nailin' It

Hey babes!

How are you today? ♥

We've been busy arranging the move and all the little things that relate to it - but today we found some time for a little coffee & waffle date in the afternoon. It's only a week to go before the move, so there's so much to do every day!

Anyway, today I thought I'd share some more nail art with you - but I promise next one will be an outfit post, after a while :D So, here's two more nail art designs by me. :)

Photobucket

First one is a design many of you might have seen all over the internet, so more than purely my own design, this is a inspired design. Not an exact copy, but close enough to be called a copy. I used Roguish Red and I'm Not Lion by China Glaze, Blanc from Essie, and some random blue polish I had in my boxes.

Photobucket

I'm sorry for the failing cleanup, I've gotten better at since these photos, which you can see on my IG photos (the nick is @silvertigo, drop by and say hi anytime!). But these make me shake my head and laugh. I could make a post about cleaning up the manicure and other details, if you'd be interested to learn. Just let me know in the comments.

Photobucket

I think this mani would be awesome to  complete a navy-inspired look, but it could be also worn together with a LBD, which would make it a cute little accessory.

Photobucket

The other mani is a bit more me, like many would probably say. I'm sorry if some of you are getting sick of animal prints, because here's one more:

Photobucket

Pink manicure with free-hand gold glitter tips and leopard print accent nails.

Photobucket

I did these nails for my fiance's mom's graduation party - from which I have an outfit post (or two) coming up later this week. :)

Photobucket

The gold glitter here is once again I'm Not Lion from China Glaze, and the pink I can't quite remember, but I think it was some polish from Mavala.

Photobucket

How do you like these manicures? What are you wearing on your nails today? And, are there some nail care/nail art/etc. tips and/or tutorials you would like to see? Leave opinions and suggestions in comments ♥

Now I need to go and make some food for the love of my life - and then again I get to pack up some boxes and such... I'll try to be online, too, though, as I really have to catch up on blog reading.

Thank you so much for everyone who has been reading/following/commenting etc. lately. I'm way too busy ATM to respond everything immediately, but I'll be catching up after the move. ♥

Blog ya later,

Tutorial for Cupcake nails

Heya lovelies!

How are you this Sunday? ♥

We've been packing our stuff like crazy, and I can't believe how close our move is already. I hope we get the keys ASAP, since I would love to get decorating already. ;)

I hope your weekend has been great - but maybe not as busy as ours :D

Today I really wanna show you this little tutorial for nail art - do you remember the Cupcake Nails I showed you a while back? Well, anyone who wants to make those, can do so with a little of this tutorial. :)

Let's get to it, shall we? ♥

DSC07782

You'll need: Base coat, top coat, dotting tool (or two), brush for clean up, clear nail polish, glitter polish, two different shades of pink (or any other color) polishes, some nail art pens, white polish, micro beads/manicure caviar, rhinestones, and a tool to help you with placing the rhinestones.

Start (as you always should) with a base coat, and let it dry completely before doing anything else.

DSC07783

Take out the pink polishes (or whichever colors you may choose), and start painting your nails as follows:

DSC07785

Now, any nails you wanna have a cupcake on, only paint them halfway through, or little less, with the pink. We shall handle the top part on the next step. You can have a cupcake on as many nails as you wish, I went with just one this time.

DSC07788

Paint the top half of the cupcake nail(s) with your glitter polish.

DSC07789

Bust out your white polish and a nail art pen for the cupcake. The white will be your icing, so again, use any color you wish, I personally like the light shades best. The nail art pen is for the "cup" of the cupcake, to give it more dimension. This should be either a little darker or a little lighter than the cup, depending what kind of color you've chosen for the cup.

Photobucket

With the nail art pen, draw few horizontal lines to the cup, to make it more detailed and dimensional. then take the white, and start creating the icing with three dots. These can be either identical or totally random, compared to each other, it's totally up to you.

Photobucket

Next, connect the dots and paint a sort of half circle above them. Make sure there's no glitter polish showing through your frosting. You can also go creative, and make this any shape possible, but I think this is the easiest way.

Photobucket

Take out your rhinestones and if possible, use the bright red ones. It's meant to be a cherry - but again, do like you feel best. Here's where you'll need the clear polish, it'll be the glue for the rhinestones. place a drop of clear polish on top of the cupcake, and place a rhinestone while the polish is still wet. Note! The white polish should be dry before you do this. ;)

Photobucket

Now, take the caviar beads, and keep the clear polish in hand. This is without a question the trickiest part of the cupcake. Place some of the beads somewhere where you can easily pick them up individually. You might need a small brush or other tool to do this neatly. Working with one bead at a time, place a drop of clear polish with a dotting tool (toothpick works, too) to where you want your "sprinkles" to go. Do this with all the beads until you have enough details. I know this is time-consuming and tests your patience, but I think it's worth it.

Photobucket

Decorate the rest of the nails as you wish - I went with stripes and rhinestones this time, and remember to clean up the edges. Finish off with the top coat to seal in your creation.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

And your finished nail art looks - at least for the cupcake - like this.

If you try this out, please link me your creations, as I love to see others' work. Also, please let me know what you think about the tutorial. And if there's any questions, I'm happy to answer them in the comments. ♥

That's all for now, I hope you liked this tutorial and found it at least a tiny bit helpful in any way. Have a nice Sunday, and also, have a fantastic start for your week tomorrow!

Simple Holo Nails & Animal Print Rainbow

Hey lovelies!

Happy Friday! ♥

I hope you're all doing fine today - and having fun plans for the weekend. Today me and my fiance had a little dinner & movie date, and we had so much fun. The rest of the night, we're watching TV, playing some video games, and enjoying each other's company. Gotta love free nights.

Today's post is once again all about nails, I have two manicures for you, and I hope you will like them!

Photobucket

The first one is a holo manicure with Make Up Store hologram polish. I must say, I have way too few hologram polishes, but as they are usually only sold on indie polish shops online, it's quite impossible for me to get them. :P Well, maybe later in life.

Photobucket

I thought these were fun with the rhinestones and all. Simple design, yet quite classy and sparkly result.

Photobucket

And here are couple of shots without flash, in the daylight. It shows the true color rather than the holo effect. :)

Photobucket

And the other one is a bit more colorful - you know how I like my colors, right?

Photobucket

Now, I did these because I wanted to practice my gradient, but also because I had this fabulous loose glitter I wanted to test. The result was kinda fun, I think.

Photobucket

I believe I'll be doing more these colorful manicures when Spring comes closer, so if there are some color combos you'd like to see - or if you want a tutorial on gradient nails, let me know.

Photobucket

That's all for now, I'm going to play with my man now, and then get to bed quite early so that we can pack the whole day tomorrow. ;)

Did you like these manicures? What kind of nails are you rocking today?

I hope each and everyone of you is having a fabulous weekend! ♥

Fun Rainbow Makeup

Heya lovelies!

How are you? ♥

I'm so excited today because I've got so much don for our move, only couple of minor things and quite a lot of packing to take care of. It's two weeks, and then we'll have a new home. I can't believe it!

This week I'm not only having school, but also working 4 nights, so forgive me for the short posts - I promise to get more into this after the move.

Today, I wanted to share with you this fun little makeup look I did a while back when I didn't have school - and wanted to try something new. This is so fun for parties or Summer days, and it pretty much goes with anything.

DSC07829

Rainbow eyeliner. Colorful, yet quite subtle.

And this is how it looked like as whole, on both eyes. I used a Nelly.com palette that has very many colors, so finding the right shades was easy. If you're curious to see how I did this, see the tutorial below for step-by-step instructions. The video belongs to YouTube user BowsandCurtseys so all credit for the video goes to her. I just had to share it because the detailed instructions were so great. :)

So, again I'm sorry for the post being very short, but I really wanted to come to say hi, and figured this is better than nothing. :D

Did you like this makeup look? Would you like to see more makeup posts - and possibly even tutorials in the future? And, what kind of makeup are you wearing today? ♥

Now, I'm off to work, so I'll see you later!

Girly Nail Art

Hey lovelies!

How are you today? ♥

I hope your week is starting off well - I know mine is. This week is still kinda light at school, and the work is that, too, so I will have loads of time to prepare the move. (Sorry for mentioning in every single post, but it takes quite a bit of my time at the moment.)

Today's post is a very quick one, I just wanted to drop by and show you some more nail art by me.

Ready?

Fantastic.

Photobucket

The first one is this vintage type of nail art with little studs, and this was something I had never tried before this manicure. I think I did quite well, considering that.

Photobucket

Photobucket

These photos make me miss my long nails, I had a little accident at work last week which forced me to file them all down quite radically. Not entirely to nubs, but close. But I guess that I should've done that anyway because of the move, so no harm done.

Photobucket

The other one is bit more simple, and I was trying to get better at my striping tape using.

Photobucket

So... pink and bling all the way. Not my most amazing work, but this was super fun to do - and it look quite fun as well, so I thought I should share it anyways.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Glitter was once again impossible to capture on film. If someone knows a trick and has the time to explain to me, please do so. I'm terrible at adjusting my camera... :D (And yes, once I don't have to think about the school stuff, I will learn everything the user manual has to offer. I promise.)

Photobucket

So, what do you think about the manicures? What are you wearing on your nails today? Share your thoughts! ♥

Now I must dash, I have so many, many things to do today!

I hope you'll all have an amazing week! ♥

Blog ya later,

xoxo
