Black & Nude

Heya gorgeous people!

Are you having a great weekend? ♥

I am, despite having to skip a little get-together with my school friends. That blows. But I'm killing some NHL players with my fiance instead. (You know, in a game, of course! I'm not that violent really. Laura, I'm sure you get me, girlie! :D) So, not a bad evening, just not the one I was expecting.

Tomorrow (or should I say today, as it is already Sunday...) we're going to watch Hunger Games, because - believe it or not - we have not seen it yet. And because it seems my schedule is full from here to eternity, I don't know when I would get to read the book, though I would love to read it first....

Oh well.

Have you seen Hunger Games - or read the book/the trilogy? What do you think about it?

I'll tell you my thoughts after seeing the movie first. ;)

Now, I don't know if you've noticed, but I changed my banner. It's a bit too big for my taste, but I promise to make a better one on my Autumn break - unless you love this one, that is. I'm also thinking of changing the background a bit, maybe to more subtle color. I'm thinking that I'd still keep pink there, but I just feel like editing the whole thing a bit.

Also what I've been thinking is the possibility of some random video posts every once in a while. Not that I'm the most enjoyable performer in any way, but it might be fun to do. Still, don't get too excited, I may be too chicken to do it after all. Just thinking through options for future posts.

Here's a simple outfit from couple of weeks ago. I can't believe the light and sun and warmth in these photos. Seriously. It seems like it's been raining non-stop for few days now, and it's so cold, too... I really wouldn't pose in a tee anymore out there. :D Anywho....

Jeans: Gina Tricot
Top: Cubus
Wedges: SpiritStore
Snake print bangle: Cubus
Necklaces: H&M/Gina Tricot
Wings ring: Nelly.com
Landscape ring: JC
Earrings: gift from a friend

So once again, this was a school outfit a while back - I liked it a lot, the high-waisted jeans, the slouchy top, all the bling... Quite nice. And I seem to be rocking heels or wedges more than before. Odd, yet nice. :D That snake print bangle was such an amazing find over the Summer, it was on sale even though it didn't say so on the price tag - which was a lovely little surprise for me, as I would've bought it anyways. I could definitely see this outfit transformed into more A/W style, like with a little fur or chunky knit... We'll see.

But what do you think about this outfit? Are there Summer outfits you would be transforming towards the A/W season? Let me know! ♥

Sorry, I just had to add a final close-up of the landscape ring set. Isn't it just so cool?
Now, I need to still figure out a little computer problem before going to bed - despite the time being way too much already... Oh well.

Have a lovely rest of the weekend! ♥

Blog ya later,

Ruffled DIY skirt

Hi sweeties!

How has your week started? ♥

Sorry for the unnecessary silence that lasted longer than I thought it would - I had a lot of things on my plate, and this is the only one I can put on hold when everything gets crazy. But of course, you have your more or less hectic lives yourselves, I'm sure you get it.

This week, I have/had once again a few deadlines, work, and I'm stressed out as hell because of everything. And on top of that, our building is going through some major plumbing renovation as we speak, so at times, we don't even get water here. *sigh* Oh, well, at least we do have a place to live in, we get to study what we want, and we can get clean water from store if needed.

So  life's great, no matter how much I complain. :D Okay, enough of that.

How are you all? What are your plans for the week?

I think I have the biggest things already behind me this week, so rest of the week should be quite fun and easy - so long as I get through a couple of writing assignments.

Now, as for today's outfit - this was something I wore in the first week of school, when it was still warm and sunny. (As you can guess, it's kinda Autumnish now - meaning: rainy, grey, cold, depressing. And no, I don't hate Autumn, I just wish I lived somewhere warmer.)

Skirt: DIY

Boots: KooKenkä
Necklace: gift from a friend
Earrings: Mom's old
Pearl bracelets: Mom's & Seppälä
Bag: Mango

I was pretty happy about this look, that skirt is my pride and joy at the moment - it's one of the coolest pieces I've sewn so far. (In my opinion, you're free to feel otherwise, of course.) I tried to create another girly and classy look, but it's up to you whether I succeeded.

So, that being said, what do you think?

Manicure challenge

#18 Half-moon nails

Yet another nail trend I hadn't ever tried. I wanted to do a very simple one with black and nude polish. And I tried to make them matte, but to be honest, I'm not feeling them. I mean, they looked all nice live, but they pictured awfully. :P

Yep. That's what I have nailwise for you this time. Sorry that it's not my best performance. :D Maybe this will deserve one recreation, though, when I have more time and patience :D

Anyway, that's all I have for today, do read the previous posts if you still haven't, and leave me your thoughts!

Or you can also....

Back to School & Some Shopping

Hey glamorous people!

How are you all doing today? ♥

I for one am excited about this weekend, which I'm once again spending with the guys (and PS3, ice hockey and F1. Yay!). I hope they'll let me take some pictures, I would love to show the world the best company a girl could have - if you don't count the closest girlfriends, that is.

Yesterday, I was supposed to have an exam, but being sick made it impossible to prepare properly for it - let alone to go to school at all - so I'm trying to get my teacher let me do it next week. I'm going to be super busy even without the guys being around this weekend, due to the darn other projects I have for school... Frustrating. But hey, at least I don't have to figure out what to do with my freetime, as school decides it for me. That's so fun. *insert some major eye rolling*

Anyways, as mentioned in the previous post, my blog is officially transitioned into the Autumn. Therefore, there'll be lots of my school style, and like some of you have requested, there will be a bit more of my daily life next to the style pictures and all.

Though I must warn you, it might not be all that exciting. I'm just a student with a part-time job and no mentionable freetime. But I can always sneak in little bits and pieces of my life here to make this blog a bit more me.

Remember how I mentioned in the previous post I'd make a little shoplog for you? I snapped photos of few of my favorite items, didn't see the point of picturing absolutely everything, just because I've bought many basics, like new mascara and so on, which might not be that exciting.

Anyway, here goes...

Some Autumn shopping

Photobucket

Knit and leather gloves - Mango

A high-waisted miniskirt with suspenders - Seppälä

4 bottles from China Glace On Safari collection - Amazon.com

Booties with white faux fur trimming - Nelly.com

Photobucket

Jeffrey Campbell look-a-likes - Boohoo.com

So, what do you think about my purchases?

Now, when the school started a couple of weeks ago, it was still very warm - a perfect weather miniskirts! I don't believe in "jeans only" policy before the temperatures get below 5 degrees (Celsius, that is), so you'll probably see a bunch of short skirts and other not-so-warm ensembles in the next few weeks. And to start off, here's the first of my school outfits for this new school year:

High-waist skirt: thrifted
Striped tee: H&M
Black boots: KooKenkä
Pink blazer: H&M
Layered necklace: Gina Tricot
Bracelet: Pieces/Only
Bird ring: SpiritStore

For me, this was the perfect outfit to start this school year. I was kind of mixing businesswoman and schoolgirl, maybe trying to get that Gossip Girl vibe there as well. I loved this outfit, and I'm already thinking how to wear this when the weather gets colder. That pink blazer was such an amazing find, I will try an wear it with many, many outfits. ;) (Thanks Anna for making me realize what a must-have these bold blazers are!)

What are your thoughts about this outfit? Is it nice for school? ♥

I noticed that in the previous post, I didn't have any nail photos... That was weird, huh? But not to worry, here's a manicure to continue my 31-day manicure challenge. As the blog comes a bit behind of what I do in real life, I can say that I'm kind of sad that the challenge is nearly over. I'm already on the challenge 29, and there's only two more to go. (Can't wait to post the rest of the challenge manicures, there are amazing ones to come, if you don't mind me saying so myself!)

31-day manicure challenge

#17 Glitter nails

This was absolutely one of my favorite "themes" of the challenge, at least when I was checking out the list before starting the challenge. The ones who really know me know that I can't resist a nice glitter, so this challenge was totally me.

I could've done this in million different ways, but I just decided to go overboard with the glitter, and this is what it looked like:

What do you think about this glitter mani? ♥

I'm heading now to enjoy my weekend (armed with the camera and phone) and I hope I can get few fun pictures to show you later! I'll be back Sunday with some DIY fun and another outfit post. Stay tuned with my Instagram account (@silvertigo) for some live action. :)

Have a fabulous weekend, everyone! ♥

Dip-dye Skirt

Hey lovelies!

How are you all? ♥

I'm personally trying to finally come over my flue, which just don't seem to go away - and that's been going on for two weeks. Fabulous.

The school is doing its best to keep me busy, and that combined with 3 work shifts per week makes me kinda exhausted every once in a while. So no, I'm not losing interest in blogging, I just don't have the time to write proper posts every day. But anyways, I'm here now.

And as you may have noticed, there's a little poll there on the right sidebar. I hope you would answer that one question to help me make this blog even more interesting read to you all. ♥ Thank you!

When the poll closes, I will see what changes I'll make to this blog - it's a new school year, so it's time for some little change, right?

Now, today I'm going to show you the last Summer outfit - after this my looks will be more or less school clothes, unless stated otherwise. The photos here were taken on a rainy day, though I don't know if you can tell that by looking at the photos.

Skirt: from Estonia
Top: Cubus
Sandals: SpiritStore
Necklace: Gina Tricot
Earrings: Gina Tricot
Wooden bracelet: Accessorize
Pearl bracelets: Second-hand
Skull bracelet: Gina Tricot
Woven bracelets: DIY

This was one of my favorite outfits this Summer, I totally love the dip dye effect, and the asymmetric hemline. I haven't worn this baby a lot, because I thought I didn't know how to style it. I guess I was wrong. Those sandals were my Summer must-have, and I think I have similar in about five or six colors. Oops. Talk about a shoe addiction!

What are your thoughts/feelings about this look? ♥

Speaking of shoes, I have two new pairs, and a couple of glammed ones I should show to you. I'll take photos of them for the next post, okay? Maybe I'll make a little shoplog, even though I don't like them that much, just for those of you who want some inspiration for their Autumn shopping. ;)

Now, I gotta go do some lame school stuff... I have a whooping four projects due Monday, so, there's lots to do. I hope I can write a bit longer post next time!

Have a lovely week, everyone! ♥

Almost Maxi Dress

Hello darlings,

How are you all? ♥

As promised, here is the "proper" post. I still hope you would read the previous post, and take the poll on top of the right-hand side of this page. I would like to develop this blog into a direction that is what you want. Because even though I write for my own fun, I would like to make content that's interesting to you. And more versatile than what I have already.

So please, take time to answer the little question on the right. Thank you! ♥

I've spent today preparing for an exam I have on Wednesday, I have 400 pages (total) to read for it, and the subject in matter is project management. Not my biggest turn-on, but it's mandatory to study, so... No choice there, lol.

Before work, I was taking a little break from studying to write this post, having a cup of chocolate cappuccino and doing some household chores. It got me thinking that sometimes it would be convenient to live with the parents while I'm still studying, it would take lot of pressure off my shoulders - I wouldn't have to work at the same time, pay all the bills, take care of all household things... Meaning that I would have so much more time on my hands.

Or maybe I just need to learn how to organize more, I don't know.

Anyone else out there having way too little time on their hands?

Anyways, today I wanted to show you pictures of one of my few (and I really mean few) maxi dresses. I'm so short they're not very flattering on me, but I was giving this a try anyways - and before you say it, no, it's not really a maxi, but it is as maxi as I get with my dresses. I really liked this outfit for a sunny, hot day - like the one we were having while shooting these. I hope you'll enjoy the pictures as much as I do. Hehe.

Awkward foot pose. Idk why I crossed my legs for this, it looks weird. Lol.

Dress: second-hand from mom's friend (it's really a skirt, though.)
Belt: Seppälä
Sandals: SpiritStore
Bracelets: Nelly.com
Dreamcatcher necklace: Seppälä
Handbag: Mango

I really liked this outfit a lot, the shades of green and blue are really something I think I would love to wear more. The dress is an old skirt that was too long for me, which I fixed by attaching straps, and wearing it with a belt whenever I put it on. It's not a perfect fit (for obvious reasons) but I do love it. And I think it looks very pretty in pictures.

What do you all think about this look? Let me know!

31-day manicure challenge

#15, delicate print

The ones who've been reading my blog for a while might guess I was happy to do this challenge, because it meant using lace somewhere. And you know me, I love lace! Of course I also had to mix it with pink.

And here's what came up:

#16, Tribal print

Again a manicure I probably wouldn't have done without the challenge. I created a ombre base, and doodled some print over it. Pretty cool for a first try, right?

Now, what do you think? Are these any nice?

I hope each and every one of you will have a fantastic week! Next time, I'll be posting (finally) the hair extension post, so if there's any question about the matter, fire away. I'll answer them all in the next post.

Have a fantastic week! ♥
