Earthy Tones vs. Aztec

Hello my lovelies!

How are you all today? ♥

My week has started so well, work has been challenging yet rewarding. I'm actually heading to bed in minutes, but I had to come here and post a little something for you. I'm so happy I've almost gotten into the posting rhythm I want to have here in the blog, so let's keep this up, shall we?

Today I wanted share another nail art post with you. I hope you guys like these!

DSC06320 (Large)

First up is this kinda earthy and neutral design featuring some stamping action, which I should train a heck of a lot more.

DSC06339 (Large)DSC06344 (Large)

The polishes I used were Choo-Choo Choose You and Loco-Motive by China Glaze, dark red stamping polish by Konad and metallic studs from Born Pretty Store.

DSC06329 (Large)

I enjoyed wearing these unusual colors on my nails, and I must say that the metallic base (Choo-Choo Choose You) is so hard to photograph. It looks blue in the bottle, but goes all sorts of colors on nails. Like red and green (the glare, not the entire polish though). Interesting shade altogether, and very fun to wear.

DSC06341 (Large)DSC06444 (Large)

The other mani is my attempt on painting a freehand Aztec print once again. I'm pretty happy about the result, although I must admit I could use even more practice on the straight lines.

DSC06459 (Large)DSC06452 (Large)

I personally loved the color combo here, the purple and light blue look so nice together, and  think Aztec print suits well on the color scheme.

DSC06450 (Large)

The polishes I used are Grape Pop, Sweet Hook, Capacity To See Beyond and White On White, all by China Glaze. For gradient base I used sponge, and for the details I had a thin nail art brush and a dotting tool.

DSC06470 (Large)DSC06474 (Large)

So these are my little creations for you today, I'm really hoping you liked them even half as much as I do. (And I'm my hardest critic.)

Let me know what you think about these designs in the comments below!

I need to go catch some sleep now, because tomorrow is a sports day and I need a well-rested body to get through my workout. If you'd be interested in my (very casual) workout routine, let me know so I can make a post about that. I'll be back very soon, but in the meantime you can find me on Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook if you want to see things that don't make it into the blog.

Have a fabulous week darlings ♥

Sunny As Hawaiian Tropic

Hello darlings!

How are you all today? ♥

I've had an amazing weekend with my man, and I'm pretty excited to start the work week tomorrow again. I enjoy my internship quite a lot, so getting up early feels all worth it and more. I hope and believe this feeling will stay until the end because the place I work in is simply amazing and the people are so supportive.

And talking about support, today I'm going to talk about how you can support your skin this summer.

DSC07114 (Large)

I got these Hawaiian Tropic products sent to me by Reddville to test out and possibly post about. I think it's amazing to get to try these out, since I've used their products last summer, and loved them then. Now, there are some new ones out, and I'm pretty excited to wear them now that days are getting sunny.

DSC07115 (Large)

Golden Tint Protective Lotion (SPF 15)

First of the products is Golden Tint Protective Lotion, which is this year's newbie. It gives you a cute golden tint while also protects your skin from the sun with SPF 15. I actually tested this out on my skin (see the pic below), and while I saw a slight difference in real life, I don't think my camera quite captured it. This product smells amazing and will surely be my go-to soon, when I wanna be out in the sun more.

DSC07117 (Large)

DSC07118 (Large)

Shimmer Effect Protective Lotion (SPF 25)

This one is also pretty adorable, as it truly gives this little sparkle for your skin. I think this would be perfect with little tan, as it would make your skin glow, while again protecting it from the sun. It has SPF 25, so with this you can be pretty calm in the sun.

DSC07122 (Large)

Protective Dry Spray Oil (SPF 10)

This one is already my friend as I used this last summer. I think this is great for the days it's not too sunny, and when you try to get some tan on you. It feels great on the skin, smells amazing and actually works pretty well on the sun. It smells s much like coconuts and is an absolute pleasure to use. I'm so happy I got this, as I would've went and bought it for the beach anyway. I love this product and can actually recommend based on my experience with it.

DSC07123 (Large)

Silk Hydration Face Lotion (SPF 30)

Last but not least, this face lotion that is designed to take care of the delicate skin on your face. I love how pretty this looks in the bottle, it reminds me of ice cream or frozen yogurt. This feels very nice on the skin, and once again I love the smell of it. I love the fact this one can be worn under makeup, so I can properly protect my face from the sun while still rocking a look I want without a worry. I will be trying this one out properly very soon, but so far it seems very promising.

As a super pale person, I love that these products all have the protection against both UVA and UVB and they're also tested to be good even for sensitive skin (and allergic people). They are also waterproof up to 80 mins, which is pretty great if you like hang out on a beach or by the pool. The products with SPF 15 or higher have also the recommendation from the Skin Care Foundation, which to me sounds very assuring.

Have you tried out Hawaiian Tropic before? What did you think about it?

Now, I need to go catch some sleep, but I will be back soon with another new post. In the meantime, you can follow me on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook to keep up with the latest little things in my life.

Have a sunny start for your week! ♥

Neutral Look

Hello my lovelies!

How are you all today? ♥

I hope you are having a lovely Friday and that you have a nice weekend planned. I think I may be taking things easy and I will concentrate on reading for an revision exam, which will take place on Monday. So, pretty uneventful weekend for me, but at least it's the weekend of Monaco GP so I can have a dose of motorsports if nothing else.

Today, I'm sharing a look from last month that is actually photographed by my mom instead of my hubby-to-be. And I think we did a decent job with her on this. Love you mom!

Vest: Cubus Jacket: secondhand Jeans: Gina Tricot Knit: Boohoo Booties: SpiritStore Scarf: secondhand Bag: Mango Bracelets: Gina Tricot, DIY, KappAhl, Born Pretty Store (c/o) Necklaces: Born Pretty Store (c/o), Gina Tricot

Playing with neutral shades again. I've gotten more into the whole neutral scheme lately, although nothing beats the classic of all classics, black. Which is why I wore lot of black here as well. I also think I brought my rock vibe into this look pretty nicely with the skulls and all, so this outfit was very me even if it's a bit more girly in color.

What do you guys think about this look? Let me know in the comments!

Now, I will go hit the bed as I finally get to sleep next to my man after a long week of not even seeing him. I missed him so much and hope that tonight I will sleep better than in all week. Call me over-attached, but I don't know how to sleep well without him beside me. (I know, that's pretty lame.) I will be back tomorrow with some pretty exciting summer product testing, so stay tuned for that!

Have a lovely weekend ♥

Guest Post: Lifestyle Leads - Vitamins and Supplements for Skin Care

The skin is the largest organ in human body and is composed of living cell thus it requires a lot of nutrients for its wellbeing. When people look at us the first thing they notice is how our skin looks and how it looks can boost or lower a person’s self-esteem when it comes to interacting with people. The lack of sufficient nutrients in the body leads to poor health of the skin and thus making it look less beautiful. It leads to the skin having a rough feel making it look less vibrant. This also results into infections since the skin will be unable to perform its functions as required. This means that healthy nutrients should be part of your skin routine if you wish to have perfect skin.

There are various nutrients which the skin needs as to look healthy and radiant. Supplements for skin care are some good sources of these nutrients while others are found in the foods we eat. These nutrients needed by the skin are mainly vitamins and various ions. Let’s look at the different ways in which vitamins and supplements enhance our skin look and feel.

Vitamins

Vitamins as a general are how to look beautiful without having to really try. They individually work in the body to give healthy skin. Vitamin C helps in the production of collagen which is the substance responsible for maintenance of the skin's elasticity. It therefore helps slow down the aging process. The skin needs vitamin A for it to be able to effectively regenerate and repair itself. Vitamin E is essential in that it facilitates the skin's protection of the skin from harmful sun's rays. Vitamins are found in vegetables and fruits. These also contain antioxidants which are important in getting rid of free radicals that we get into contact with. Eating a healthy and balanced diet is the most important skin care tip especially because it's also a natural process through which the body, and hence the skin, gets nutrients.

Beauty Supplements

It is important to acknowledge the fact that the food we take is not usually sufficient to provide all the nutrients required for having perfect skin and this is where beauty supplements come in handy.  They are an important element of skin care since they complement the normal diet and thus guaranteeing a constant supply of nutrients to the skin. This ensures that there is no deficiency whatsoever and hence no risk of skin malnutrition. The role of beauty supplements is significant when it comes to developing healthy skin which is also beautiful. This is mainly because of the fundamental role that the nutrients available in the beauty supplements play in ensuring skin beauty.

However, these supplements should not be used as a substitute for a good diet. They should always be used to complement it: to guarantee a healthy and beautiful skin. This is because a good nutrient is the number one secret to healthy looking beautiful skin.

Starting Summer With Rimmel London

Hello lovelies!

How are you today? ♥

I had a great day at work, perfected with a nice salmon salad dinner when I got home. My man has business elsewhere for a couple of days, so I'm enjoying the time alone binge-watching Once Upon A Time and eating lightly (no red meat for a couple of days, so my body will be thankful). Just now, I'm baking some gluten free bread so I can have warm treat as an evening snack.

Today, I wanted to talk a little bit about cosmetics. I got to test out some Rimmel products, and I really want to share some opinions about them.

DSC07101 (Large)

Rimmel Rita Ora Nail Polishes Roll In The Grass, Glaston-Berry and Peachella

As you all probably know, I'm obsessed (read: addicted) to nail polishes. Even though I usually go for China Glaze ones, I like to try others every once in a while too. When these three beauties were sent to me, I naturally had to test them out right away. First thing I can say that I absolutely love the names - especially Peachella - because they remind me of summer so much.

DSC07102 (Large)

And here are the swatches. Peachella is a beautiful peach color, very bright and vibrant. I think this is my favorite out of the three. It's a nice alternative for nude polish for summer time. Glaston-Berry is a bright red that actually reminds me of strawberries, so I feel the name is on point. It's very pigmented and I loved using it for nail art. Roll In The Grass is a quite typical minty green, though a little darker than many mints. I have many blueish greens in my collection, so this isn't a very new shade, but it is pretty and I'm sure I will have use for it.

So far, I think these are worth buying. They have good pigment, they are pleasant to apply and they cover well with two coats - even one if you don't mind slight streaks. Especially Peachella is absolutely gorgeous and I think it will look nice with the new neons I ordered on Friday.

Oh My Gloss! Lip Glosses

Okay, so, I'm not too much of a lip gloss user due to the fact I always manage to get my hair in it. But. I think it can look nice, and it can be more moisturizing that lipsticks (especially the matte ones, which I prefer). So I'm all about trying new ones, who knows if I will find one that is a match made in heaven for me.

The shades I tried out are called Go Gloss Or Go Home (the more orange, glittery one) and Glossaholic (cute baby pink). Both are mildly scented, subtle glosses that are easy to wear. They stay on quite well even on a person that is a walking mess like myself.  These babies promise to hold up to 6 hours, but that doesn't happen on my face (it's called user error, I'm always eating or at least drinking water so nothing stays on my lips without correcting throughout the day). If you're a glossaholic, or even a gloss lover, I think you should try these out.

Wonder'full Wake Me Up Mascara in Black

Last, but definitely not least is this fancy green package, mascara. This mascara has vitamins and cucumber in it, so it's supposed to treat your lashes while wearing it. I've been using this daily for a while now, and while I can't say I would've gotten mega lashes out of this, I think my lashes feel a bit stronger and they don't fall off as easily. So, I think it might really moisturize/treat the lashes somehow.

The mascara is easy to apply, it doesn't get too clumpy or anything, and it makes my lashes look quite long and nice. It doesn't fall off throughout the day, but it's easy to take off in the evening. Also, I really just want to give five extra points for the fun packaging. The metallic green and edgy design caught my eye totally.

The products seen in this post have been sent for me to try. However, I didn't have to write a single thing about them, so all the opinions voiced here are completely my own. I hope this review is any helpful for you guys.

Have you tried any of these products? And, what are your current makeup favorites? Let me know in the comments!

Now, this girl needs t hit the bed, so I can be up and awake nice an early for my work shift. I will be back very soon with a new post, so stay tuned my loves!

Have a fabulous day ♥

Pink Galaxy vs. Cute Animals

Hello lovelies!

How are you doing today? ♥

I finally had a day to chill out, breathe deep and take time off from everything. Also, some wedding planning has taken place. I'm so excited to see our tiny party coming together, and next month I get to do the last preparations. It seems pretty overwhelming that in couple of months I will actually be a married lady. That's crazy.

But anyway, today I wanted to share these nail art designs with you.

DSC05886 (Large)

First is this pink galaxy thing that I created a while back (before Easter) and absolutely loved wearing. If you have been reading my blog for a while now, you probably know that I love galaxy prints a lot. And when it's pink, it's even better.

DSC05891 (Large)DSC05898 (Large)

I added lots of glitter to make the mani extra fabulous, and I think that worked quite well. Also, looking these pictures make me wanna paint galaxy mani on my nails again.

DSC05907 (Large)

Polishes I used were White On White, Escaping Reality, Seas The Day, Float On, Feel The Breeze, Sweet Hook and Fairy Dust by China Glaze, Glitter Bomb Disco Diva by Rimmel and Madeleine by Make Up Store. For the decorating I used thin nail art brush, dotting tool and small pieces of makeup sponges.

DSC05917 (Large)DSC05925 (Large)

The other mani is actually my this year's Easter mani, which you probably have already seen on my Facebook and Instagram, but let's post it here as well in case you lot would like some inspiration for next year. But of course, why not paint cute animals and such on other occasions as well, there's no rule against that.

DSC05942 (Large)DSC05933 (Large)

This was pretty unusual mani for me, as I actually painted some figures and such, instead of creating simple patterns and all. I think I did pretty well, but that's really up to you.

DSC05937 (Large)

The polishes I used were White On White, Sun Upon My Skin, Grass Is Lime Greener, I'm With The Lifeguard, In The Limelight, Float On by China Glaze, Green Couture by L'Oreal and pink, purple and light blue nail art pens by Kiss. Also, a glitter top coat Portland Dream from Viva La Diva collection by Alessandro.

DSC05928 (Large)

So there you go, two different manis, both of which have their pros and cons. But now it's your turn to say:

What do you think about these manis? Let me know in the comments!

I'm going to hit the bed now, but I'll be back tomorrow evening with another little post. Stay tuned my darlings, and I'll talk to you soon.

Have a fabulous start for your week ♥

Skater Skirt

Hey darlings!

How are you all today? ♥

I've had my first full week of work, and it has felt so overwhelming. It seems I get to do many interesting things out there, and after the days I've been so tired I literally haven't been able to do much. (At least that was the case in the beginning of the week, when I wrote this post beforehand.) But I'm sure it'll be different next week, when I've gotten into rhythm and gotten some exercise into the schedule as well.

Today, I wanted to share this little outfit I wore a while back, which demonstrates once again my love for black and rock chic things.

DSC06391 (Large)DSC06385 (Large)DSC06431 (Large)DSC06407 (Large)

Skirt: DIY Fringed jacket: Boohoo Top: Gina Tricot Belt: Mango Necklace: gift from friend Choker: gift from friend Rings: Born Pretty Store, Gina Tricot, JC Scarf: secondhand

I absolutely loved this outfit, although it once again might divide opinions quite a bit. I'm kinda very proud of that skirt, having made it myself, and can't wait to make a new skirt soon once I get few things out of my hands. Hopefully, I can make that project into a some kind of post.

Also, that jacket is such a favorite - I should learn how to style it better during this year. I think it's a bit challenging length as it is a bit cropped, so it isn't flattering with everything but looks very nice with dresses.

What do you guys think about this look? Let me know in the comments!

Now, I'm wishing you a lovely weekend, and promise to be back with another post tomorrow, or Sunday the latest. I have so much to post for you all and I can't wait to get them all out!

Have a fabulous weekend ♥

Skincare Loves Lately

Hello my darlings!

How are you today? ♥

I've been enjoying my busy week, and it's going to be my first payday soon. Which naturally means getting new nail art stuff, as I have a list of things I've been craving to get for a while now. I'm hoping that next week won't be this busy and all, so I could actually write daily instead of scheduling posts like I've done lately. It's all about getting my life schedule together and I'm sure next week it'll all be alright.

Today, I wanted to talk to you about some skincare products I've been loving lately.

DSC06798 (Large)
I've never mentioned this much, but my skin tends to break out quite a bit, especially in the dry weather (winter, we're so not friends), when I'm stressed out or when I clean my makeup poorly. Also, I have a bad habit of touching my face too much once it starts breaking out, which naturally makes it worse.

Couple of weeks ago, the nice people of Reddville sent me some acne products for testing. I was pretty thrilled, as the stress of the spring has been quite a lot for my skin (especially the face).

DSC07097 (Large)

The products I've been testing lately are Basiderm Oil Control Foam Wash and Basiderm Oil Control Moisturizer. Basiderm products are only available in pharmacies, and even though these two don't necessarily cure acne, they promise to help keep the skin clean moisturized throughout the day. Basiderm also has medical creams for acne, but so far I haven't needed to try those out.

So what's my verdict about the products?

I was pretty scared that the products would make my face dry out like many face washes and matte finish moisturizers do, but once I found the right time to use them (face wash after removing my makeup, and applying the moisturizer when I go to sleep), I haven't had a problem. I tried out putting the moisturizer under a matte finish foundation, but that didn't work out too well for my skin type.

I have a sensitive skin, so it's important to use right products for it. These don't seem too harsh on my skin, and I think I can say that these have made a little improvement on my skin so far. It feels cleaner and looks a little brighter. I can't say that any miracles have happened, but it certainly hasn't made anything worse. Obviously need to keep using these for a couple of months before my final word on them, but so far I'm liking them a lot. They don't have a strong scents to them, which is nice when you talk about products you put on your face.

Of course as with all skincare, I believe a good diet, enough exercise and lot of water are essentials no matter what products you decide to use. But these, I think, are worth trying if you have an oily skin. It probably couldn't hurt, right?

What are your trusted products for skincare? Let me know in the comments!

Now, I will stop my blabbering for today, and will be back tomorrow with another post. Stay tuned for that my darlings!

Have a lovely day ♥

Chevron vs. Splatter

Heya lovelies!

How are you all today? ♥

I'm currently watching Finland play against Russia in the IIHF world championship, and trying to recover from the hectic workday. I'm so overly happy that Thursday will be a day off, because these past two weeks have been pretty overwhelming because of the start of the internship. Most days I have been so tired I don't get much done, but I'm slowly getting to the work rhythm and next week I'll probably be completely back on my feet in that sense.

Today, figured we should talk a bit about nails again, as I had this post ready in my archive waiting to be posted for you all.

DSC05671 (Large)

So first up is this neon gradient with all sorts of elements to it. I used pretty unusual color combo for me, which is purple, pink and orange. And of course some white as an accent, as you can see.

DSC05706 (Large)DSC05690 (Large)

I tried to play with decoration placement here, and kind of think I did a nice job with it. But of course, you can think differently depending on what you like in nail art.

DSC05683 (Large)

Colors I used here were all by China Glaze. I used White On White, Snow Globe, Sun Of A Peach, X-ta Sea and Seas The Day. The studs and triangle rhinestones are from Born Pretty Store as usual.

DSC05703 (Large)DSC05801 (Large)

The second mani is even more colorful than the first one, and it is my first proper try on splatter nails. I haven't been trying this out before since I knew it's a bit messy one, but this spring I decided I had to try it after seeing many beautiful inspirations for it.

DSC05825 (Large)DSC05813 (Large)

I think this is the type of mani I would do again pretty soon, as it looks very nice when done correctly. Of course I think yet again that my technique requires some practicing, but for a first try, it's pretty cool.

DSC05817 (Large)

The colors I used were all neons by China Glaze (except for the white of course). I used White On White, I'm With The Lifeguard, Escaping Reality, Splish Splash, Surfin' For Boys and Sun-Kissed. When doing this technique, you basically only need a proper-sized straw, and you're good to go. Just make sure your surface is protected from the polish splatter, as it gets absolutely everywhere.

DSC05809 (Large)

So there you have it, two very colorful manis (that are really appropriate for the sunny summer days ahead), which are different from each other in many ways. I personally loved both a lot, but I would love to hear your opinions as usual.

So the question is: Which one do you like better? Let me know in the comments!

Now, I will continue watching the game, and will soon go to bed so that I will be energetic enough for tomorrow. I will once again have a lot to learn so I need all my mental strength to keep up. Or something like that. But I'll be back very soon, since I have scheduled posts ready for the coming days. (I knew I'd need them to keep up with everything!)

Have a fabulous day ♥
