Halloween 2016: Serena van der Woodsen

Hello lovelies! How are you today? ♥ I hope you all had a fun weekend. We had a little road trip, got to see a puppy and friends and also relax with F1, so I definitely had a fun one. This week, I will be going to a trade fair for work on Wednesday which is so cool because it's a definite change to sitting on a computer the whole day. More on that maybe later, but today, I really wanted to share another Halloween inspiration post:

Today's look is Serena van der Woodsen from Gossip Girl - because Blake Lively is queen. I will never be as stunning as her, but I can take advantage of the Halloween season and be Serena for a day. And maybe a night, too.

For the look I chose a school girl look from the first season of GG. Now, I don't own a skirt with Constance colors, but I figured blue would be the next best thing. Otherwise this look was close enough in my eyes, since I once again just used what I had in the closet.

Serena's makeup throughout the series is quite simple and neutral, so I kept mine very light as well. Youthful skin, bit of eyeliner and lipgloss go a long way. And you know, lots of blonde hair.

In case you have a club to go to after the costume party, you can always switch on a nice little dress and heels and it's still a plausible Serena look. I know sequin dress may not be her first choice, but I would totally rock this. And keep the shoes simple but stylish because that's how she seems to have hers. Bonus about this outfit is that you don't necessarily need accessories since she doesn't wear too much of those with party outfits, I've noticed. A simple necklace would do nicely though.

Again, the point of this year's looks is to show that you can put together reasonably good costumes even on a budget and/or last minute. We all have quite a bit of things at home or you can borrow from a friend or a relative who has a closet full of everything. And, not all looks need a ton of SFX or even makeup skills. As long as you are a bit creative.

Also, if you like, you can always make this more gore by making Serena a vampire, zombie or some other scarier character.

What do you think about this look? Let me know in the comments below!

That's all I have for you today, and I will be back soon with another Halloween look - or maybe even sooner if I'm inspired to write something else. I still have about six or so looks to go, and I hope you guys will like them. If you want to see more from me, follow me on social media where I post content daily. See you soon darlings!

Have a wonderful day ♥
