Hey lovelies! How are you today? ♥ I'm almost leaving the house as I'm typing this, so I hope I won't forget anything. Like I told you yesterday, Today is time for a bit of a makeup review. Some while ago I bought things from Makeup Revolution, but I haven't really talked about them here as I haven't had the chance to try them out and so on. But today, I'm sharing my thoughts on some f their lip products:
Liphugs. They come in these pretty red, shiny packages, and seem tiny enough to fit even the smallest purses.
The shades I ordered were (from left to right) End With Beginnings, Not Giving Up, When You Came To Me, Love Can Set You Free and To Get Lucky. I love how the names are so romantic, and they look totally adorable. I know they seem kind of similar - and are that, even - but I'm pale as a sheet so they look very different against that. Below, I have swatched these more or less from lightest to darkest so you can see they look on me.
When You Came To Me is the lightest of the bunch, and it felt like it doesn't cover well enough at first, but it actually builds up quite nicely with few layers. Also, for a more retro look, I think the transparent application goes well too.
Not Giving Up is a bit darker than the previous, and actually quite close to my natural lip color. I wore this shade to work this week, so I can tell you below how they wear throughout the day.
End With Beginnings a fuchsia pink that isn't too neon or anything, but subtle and easy to wear if you're not used to bright lips.
Love Can Set You Free is another quite natural shade, darker than the first two but not too dramatic. I love this one quite a bit and can't wait to play with it more.
To Get Lucky is the darkest of the Liphugs I got this time. It's very rich in color and looks lovely on. It's also a shade I can't wait to wear properly later on.
My thoughts about these products:
These are super affordable lipsticks, and even though I've loved Makeup Revolution before, I wasn't sure what to expect. I had heard great things about these, so I figured why not try them out. They apply so smoothly on, and they seriously moisturize the lips the whole day. The finish is a bit shiny, which is cool, and they stay on quite well. I did have to apply more throughout the day if I was eating or drinking. They need a couple of coats (at least) to get opaque, but you can build these up nicely. They are nice in size, so you can easily take them with you when traveling. Overall I love these quite a bit, and would definitely recommend you to try them especially if you're on a budget. Of course, if you are used to high end products, this probably won't be your cup of tea (I assume, I don't own high end stuff), but otherwise go for it.
Have you tried these products? Let me know in the comments below!
I shall go now, but you can follow me on social media to see what we're up to during the weekend. I absolutely love connecting with everyone there, so come say hi! I'll talk to you soon.
Have a lovely weekend ♥
