As promised, today we're making a popcorn treat for Halloween. I like creating these mix and match type of popcorn snacks, as they are super quick and easy, and they can be made suitable for all the diets - unless someone's allergic to corn, of course. Popcorn is a good snack ingredient since it's not very unhealthy (I cook mine without any oil, even), it can be made into both savory and sweet, and the kernels are very inexpensive.
For the popcorn, you'll need:
Popcorn kernels
(bit of oil)
Honey roasted peanuts
Reese's Minis
White Chocolate
M&M's (orange, yellow and brown ones)
Salty mini Pretzels
(Peanut butter - in case you want to make this extra nutty, I ended up not using it)
Sprinkles in Halloween colors, in case you want to make this a bit extra
For more authentic Halloween experience, have a greedy Black cat "helping" you in the kitchen.
Start with making the popcorn. I make mine always in the microwave, I have a silicone bowl with a lid in which I can pop them without any oil so that's pretty awesome, but you can of course make yours the traditional way in the kettle.
Lay your popcorn on an oven pan or other flat surface - preferably on baking sheet for easy cleanup - and sprinkle over everything except white chocolate (and peanut butter, if you're using that.)
Melt the white chocolate carefully in the microwave, and drizzle it (and the peanut butter) over the popcorn. Add the sprinkles at this point as well, as they will stick to the melted chocolate and not just end up to the bottom of the dish.
Put the popcorn into the serving bowl - and that's it. You can just happily snack on it.
What's your favorite popcorn like? Let me know in the comments!
That's all for today's post, but tomorrow we'll have another costume post. One that I'm a bit nervous of posting as it's inspired by a real life person instead of a character, and therefore I'm hoping I won't get too much bad vibes for it. In other news, if you didn't already check out the outfit of the day on Instagram, go do that now and maybe even give it a like! I'm trying my hardest to get to 5k on Insta before the end of the year so if you can help out with that at all, by liking, following or even sharing some of my content, I'd be very thankful! I'll see you tomorrow in the next post.
Have a wonderful day ♥
