Little Black Dress (with a bow)

Heya lovelies,

How are you all? ♥

It's a brand new week starting, and for me, it's quite exciting as it's the first ever Summer vacation from work. Of course I'm studying the whole time, but as our school work seems more tolerable than last year, I think I can make the most of it. ;)

What have you been up to lately, darlings?

I have just spent a lovely weekend with my fiance, he took me out to eat two days in a row, we made pizza, played video games, had some sparkling wine, and enjoyed each other's company.

And what's best, I got through yet another video game (completed it 100%, yay!). I know you might not care about it, but for me, it's an achievement.

Okay, moving on.

Next weekend we're planning on visiting my parents, and I've made something to give them when we go. I made few boxes of macarons for my mom, and I'm sure dad will love some too. I've finally mastered the whole process of making macarons, so I just had to make them. I believe they'll be a lovely gift.

I should write some school stuff after this, so it's once again quite short post - I promise to make longer ones every once in a while, I just need to get a little inspiration. ;)

Anyway, today's outfit is about this pretty dress I ordered, you know how I'm a sucker for anything with bows in it, and when it's something as cute ad girly as this, I couldn't resist it at all! I kept the focus on the dress instead of accessories, and this is how it looked like:

Bow dress: Oasap (You can buy yours here)
Ballet flats: Skopunkten
Feather headband: H&M
Feather ring: JC
Cocktail ring: Gina Tricot

I thought this was a cute little look, not too many details to it, but the bow and the rhinestones of the dress make the look. I couldn't help but fall in love with that dress, and will sure place another order once I get my paycheck this week and see my budget. ;)

What do you think about this look?

The manicure challenge continues with a manicure I kinda ruined because I didn't think it through. Nevertheless, I will show it to you, because the idea was cute despite the not-so-neat outcome.

Manicure challenge

#12, Stripes

The idea came from a manicure that has been featured in many places all over the Internet, with white and navy stripes and little hearts on ring fingers. I wanted to recreate them, but kinda didn't realize (and I'm going to sound so dumb now) that it's foolish to try and make white stripes over the navy polish rather than other way around. So the result was a bit messy, and I wish I would've had the time to make this again - I didn't. I will do this again either after the challenge, or as a favorite design. It depends a bit.

So, there's only one manicure this time, but I'll continue this challenge on the next post. :)

Now, I gotta write a part of a school task, and also answers to your comments on the previous post.

Hope you'll have a lovely week! ♥

Blog ya later,

xoxo

White Leather Vest

Heya lovelies!

How are you? ♥

The school finally started yesterday, and I've been busy preparing for it. Now that it actually stared, I noticed I will probably have more time for blogging than I did last school year. Yay! My schedule is so much more easy-going than before, that I just can't believe it. And next week, I will also start 2-week vacation from work, so my evenings are free for everything I desire to do.

Gotta love that!

I have so much planned for the evenings without work already, that I believe the two weeks will go very fast. And I get to focus solely on school stuff, which is great for starting this year.

I will try to make the hair extension post during those two weeks, because I will have the time to play with the hair more than on normal daily basis.

Anyway, since I'm already anxious to get to read your blogs, I'll keep the babbling short. I'm sure I will have more to write about now that the lessons started and I see my friends more. ;)

But let's continue to the outfit. This is a look I wore for a movie night a couple of weeks ago, when we were out with friends. I was rocking my sale find (white vest) for the first time - I loved the outfit, but I'm sorry for the bad quality of the pictures, we didn't have the chance to take the photos in daylight.

Shorts: DIY
Snake print top: Mango
Sandals: SpiritStore
Silver bracelets: H&M
Colorful bracelets: DIY
Skull bracelet: Gina Tricot
Necklace: Gina Tricot
Earrings: Gina Tricot

I don't know about you, but I love so many things about this look - though you would see them better if I had taken the photos with daylight. I think white, turquoise/mint green and silver together look so nice - could wear them more than I do. And that faux leather vest is such a favorite, I just need to figure out a few more ways to wear it. (Maybe with a dress, or jeans...) I'm sure I'll find use to it during Fall.

What are your thoughts about this look?

This time, I'm having three different manicures to show to you. The manicure challenge I'm doing is apparently a great way to learn to do my nails more - I mean, I've learned a thing or two just to create nice manicures (mostly for you to see more than my own pleasure, I must admit). I hope I can provide you inspiring nail art in the future. Now, let's see the manicures for this post.

Manicure challenge

#9 Rainbow nails

There were many ways to do this, but I decided to go for 10 different colored nails. Sorry about my cuticles,  they were extremely dry the time I was doing this manicure.

#10 Gradient nails

I would've probably done this the same way as the previous one (one nail, one color), but it would've been too similar, so I got my makeup sponge and created a beach view to my nails. It was fun to do, and I could do this one again just for the fun of it.

#11 Polka dot nails

I was having a hard time choosing the colors for this, but after deciding to wear the outfit above, I knew I had to make a cute manicure to go with it. I painted my nails with mint, added some white pattern, and glammed it up with silver.

Photobucket

What do you think about the manicures? And which of these is your favorite?

Now, I have to go write some school stuff - and a letter to a friend, but I'll be back next time with another outfit I'm pretty excited about. :)

Hope you'll all have a fabulous week!

Something girly ♥

Hey lovelies,

How has your week started? ♥

I'm having a great start, we got some exciting news I can share with you later this week. ;) I'm currently having the last vacation week from the school, and still waiting to have the Summer vacation from work - once the school has started, crazy, isn't it?

Anyways, I've been spending time away from the laptop lately, so I'm sorry for the lack of posting/answering comments/visiting your blogs. I'm sure it'll change once the school starts and I'm forced to write papers on the computer. Now, have you already seen my apartment post? If not, you should check it out now. It's nothing miraculous, but it's our home. So check it out, and leave a comment. ;)

Now, speaking of apartments, there was a Housing Fair near us for a month, and of course, as we love to dream about our future together, we had to go check the whole thing out. I don't have pictures from the fair itself, but if you're into it, you can go and read posts about it by other Finnish bloggers, like Noora (see her post here). What I have for you, is the outfit I wore that day.

Playsuit: Sunny's
Wedges: relative's old
Headband: Accessorize
Bow necklace: Seppälä
Rose ring: Accessorize
Bracelets: Accessorize
Bag: Mango

I'm slowly trying to introduce myself to bit more chic style, item by item, and this outfit is one example of how I do it. Pastels, neutrals, clean cuts, buns.... Those are elements I would love to get more into my daily looks.  Not necessarily everything at once, but maybe one or two at the time. Although here I pretty much grasped all of them. I hadn't worn those wedges in years, and actually broke my skin a bit wearing them. But that happens to the best of us, right? :D The playsuit here is something my mom and dad bought me, from a shop I never even dare to go into because of the prices. (They have the most lovely items, but just bit out of my price range.) All in all, I loved this outfit, and can't wait to rock it again - with some edgy details - once school starts again.

Now, the question is: How do you like this look?

I don't know how much it shows in the pictures, but I didn't have any nail polish (can you believe it?) to match the outfit. That's simply because I didn't have the time to do my nails before going to the fair. Later in that evening though, after work, I made this kinda nice manicure.

Manicure challenge

#8 Metallic nails

I guess there's many ways - and colors - for creating cool metallic nails. I was first going for just "plain" hologram nails, but then I just had to play around with tape and nail art pen. And the abstract result is as follows:

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

I used hologram polish from Make Up Store as a base, and a silver polish from IsaDora for the shapes. As I felt the shapes didn't show clearly enough, I lined them with a black nail art pen.

Do you like this manicure? What kind of metallic manicures you usually do?

Now, I need to catch some sleep just to get on with my normal school rhythm. I try to answer all the comments within the next 24 hours, I hate to have them unanswered like they've been past days. :P

I hope you'll all have a fabulous week! ♥

Home Sweet Home

Hey Lovelies,

How are you? ♥

I'm sorry it's been a while since I posted, there's been a lot going on lately, and I haven't had the time to write anything. :( But anyway, here I am now, giving you the apartment post I promised before. I hope you enjoy the tour!

Welcome to our apartment

We live in a rented apartment at the moment, in the 6th floor and just 15-minute bus drive away from the city center. Even though we're looking for a bigger place as we speak, and the furniture isn't exactly what we dream of, we decided to open the door to our little home for you, my amazing readers. :)

Let's start from the kitchen (which serves as a dining room as well).

Photobucket

We don't have a lot in our kitchen, due to the impossibility of attaching anything to the rock hard walls. So everything is a bit more empty (everywhere in our home) than we'd like. I try to compensate with having flowers and colors everywhere. (And if you wonder where the fourth chair from the table is, don't worry. I have it as my sewing chair.)

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

As you might've noticed already, I love cooking. That shows in our kitchen as a crazy amount of spices, so much so that they don't really fit nicely on the shelf...

Photobucket

If I got to choose, though, our spice rack would look like the picture above.

Photobucket

Some of my favorite spices.

Next up, we're going to see the livingroom. There we have a little office space, a sewing table/corner and the actual livingroom. It's lot to have in a quite small place, but we've found a way to get the most out of our apartment.

Photobucket

Photobucket

I may have an unhealthy relationship with Ikea's boxes, but I really feel they're a great way to store items (such as papers) and decorate the same time.

Photobucket

A shot of our hallway, not much to see there, though.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Cardboard alphabets I've painted - they still miss Super Mario characters, which I'm working on at the moment. ;)

Photobucket

Photobucket

Bookshelf, with the word Love on top of it. We really like these dark Ikea shelves, they have the edge we want to have in our home in the future as well as now.

Photobucket

The corner with the couches. We're dreaming about a different couch, a one with a nice corner and all, but at the moment that's not that well within the budget.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Some details on our livingroom...

Photobucket

Photobucket

Then a peek to our balcony - that has been seen in some outfit pictures already, but what I'm showing you again in one picture as well.

Photobucket

This is something I would love to spruce up a bit, it's cute already with the table and the grill (not seen here, as it was right behind me), but there's a lot I would love to do with the place.

Photobucket

Back inside, here's my sewing table - currently empty of projects, but probably not so much this weekend. ;)

Photobucket

Photobucket

My memory board, where I collect tickets, photos, autographs from places I've been. I should rearrange it during the Autumn.

Photobucket

A vanilla-scented candle. Couldn't live without these! ♥

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Our bedroom, to which we were trying to find bedside tables the other day. I'll write a little update post when it's done.

Photobucket

More Ikea boxes, these are the ones where I keep most of my beauty products (I'd love a dresser, but unfortunately one couldn't fit here.)

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Cute boxes for my necklaces, bracelets and nail polishes. Love them.

Photobucket

Silly, but I had to take a picture: Our favorite scents on the bedroom table. ♥

Photobucket

My little pride and joy - handmade dreamcatcher.

Photobucket

Last and the least, our bathroom. Despite having a shower, a bathtub and our own laundry machine, the bathroom isn't something to really show to anyone. I also left out our hallway and the walk-in closet(ish), as they wouldn't be too interesting to see.

Anyways, that's our little home. We do love to live here, but we would really love a new place with a little more room and some new furniture. When we do, I'll let you know in a form of update post.

So, what do you think about our humble home? And, I would love to see your homes as well - as whole, or as in details - so I challenge my readers to make a home/apartment post of their own, and link it here. (If you've done one already, just leave the link to that, it's as good!)

I hope you'll all have a lovely rest of the week!

Blog ya later!

xoxo
