#31DC2015 Black and White & Metallic

Hey babes! How are you all? I've had a chill day today at home, and been feeling a bit under the weather today. Luckily a marathon of O.C. and a huge cup of tea got me through it until hubby got home. He always makes me feel better. Also, I did new nail art, so it's definitely appropriate to share a couple of new designs from the #31DC2015 with you. So here are the black & white and metallic designs!

First up is the black and white design. I was scrolling through images of black and white nails and was inspired to do this graphic, geometric design on them. I was really feeling the stripes that day, and I still love looking at this design.

I think the studs were such fun finishing touches to the design. That's actually the thing I loved most about this!

DSC00546 (Large)

For this design I used White On White and Liquid Leather, both by China Glaze. All the studs are from Born Pretty Store and I used striping tape to create the geometric shapes.

Next up is my metallic design for the challenge. I had this duochrome metallic shade I really wanted to try out, so I painted my nails with it and stamped leaves all over it to create a fun Autumn design.

I like how this turned out even though I don't usually love shades like this on my nails. Somehow I ended up buying this one anyway and I love it quite a bit.

The polishes I used for this were China Glaze Cabin Fever, Seas The Day, Roguish Red and Stoked To Be Soaked. The leaves were done with Konad stamping set, using the plate m20.

What do you all think about these designs? Let me know in the comments below!

That's all I have for you today, I hope you enjoyed these nail designs. Today I will be posting something else, but in the meantime remember to follow me on social media to stay updated about the blog and other things as well. I will go now to watch TV with the hubby and then get some rest, but I will be more chatty here tomorrow because I'm sure I'll feel all better after a good night's sleep. See you tomorrow!

Have a fabulous week ♥

Rock vs. Neon ♥

Hello lovelies!

How are you all? ♥

I've been pretty swamped with school and all - and it seems there's no end to it in few weeks. So if I'm slow with the posts, be patient. I have to schedule my to-do's and try to put in as much blogging as I can, but of course I need to prioritize my school stuff so I won't have deadlines in summer.

But on a lighter note, I came here today to share a nail art post with you all. This time, yet again two very different manis and I hope you guys like them!

So the first design is this rock inspired one I wore to a gig (Amaranthe) a while back. The spikes were kind of a pain to wear as they pretty much fell off in an hour (yes, I really need to get nail glue), but otherwise I really loved the design. It gave me an excuse to try out the rhinestones there for the first time.

I also really loved the chrome polish, as it's something I haven't ever worn in my nails before this. The consistency was a tiny bit tricky to work with, but I think I did a decent job.

DSC04986 (Large)

The polish I used is China Glaze I'd Melt For You, and the studs, spikes and rhinestones are from Born Pretty Store.

The next one is more colorful, and kind of great for summer. I was sick when I made these, and thought nice nails would make me feel better. They didn't, but at least they looked nice.

DSC05069 (Large)DSC05061 (Large)

I personally liked the color scheme a lot, and would definitely wear something like this again now that I'm flu free. And at least in summer with cute outfits.

DSC05074 (Large)

The polishes I used were China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer and White On White, and a neon yellow one from Depend. The triangle rhinestones and round studs are from Born Pretty Store.

I hope you liked these nails here, and that at least some of you would be a tiny bit inspired. I have been pretty inspired with doing my nails lately, although I feel I need some new colors in my arsenal. In May, I think I might actually be able to do that.

What do you think bout these nails? Let me know in the comments below!

Now, I'm heading to bed so I won't wake up all sore and tired after all the workout and work today. Tomorrow, there's so much to do I really don't know how to handle everything, but I will figure out a way to get through it. I just started a new workout routine to be in better shape in summer (and for our wedding), and I'm not sure how that will affect on my muscles. But we'll see tomorrow and I will let you know in the next post. I will be back as soon as I can!

Have a fantastic day ♥

Girly Nail Art

Hey lovelies!

How are you all? ♥

Today, I'm having this verbal test in business English, and I just hope everything will go well. Not that it's hard, but I fear that I'll have some blackout and forget the words. But, I shall not worry about it. I hardly think one could actually fail it. :D

Another thing I've been concentrating lately, is getting rid of clutter. Both real life as well as on my laptop. I recently realized my hard drive was only having 18% space left, so now I'm going through some serious clean up there as well. I kinda hoped I could just leave the cleaning to closet and the little everyday cleaning, but no. I feel like I have to organize and re-organize every single thing. But that might be a good thing, right?

So, today's post is about (besides my blabbering) nails. I have two pretty nice manicures to share with you, both probably in top 10 of my manicures ever! :) If you want to learn something about my nail art, see here and here for tutorials. And remember, you can always wish for another one, I'm happy to make them for you. ;)

The first manicure is done with this gorgeous hologram polish from Make Up Store. It looks very neutral and sandy in the bottle, but once on your nails, it has the most fabulous holo effect in every color. I thought a caviar ring finger in metallic pastel shades would compliment it well, and because I always have to add everything possible to every manicure, I put a piece of striping tape across every nail. It's still pretty simple, and looking at this now, I think I need to do and interpretation of this soon. ;)

And one picture in daylight. I was seriously taking too many photos of this because I liked it so much!

The other mani is more colorful and maybe less elegant, but it was so much fun to create. ;)

Cupcake nails! For some idiotic reason this blogger was dumb enough to not take many different pictures of these nails... Oh well. Luckily this picture shows everything about the mani, so you're not missing out. I've been asked to do a tutorial of these babies, so that's something I need to work on this weekend. And sorry about the misshaped thumb nail, it had a little accident but I didn't want to cut it down.

So, here are the manicures this time. I hope you liked them!

Are these manicures something you might try out? And is there a manicure you would like to see from me? Let me know in the comments! ♥

That's all for now, but I'll try to write something new pretty soon. I have a feeling I might even get to write a makeup review post this week, if everything goes as planned. ;)

Have a lovely week!

xoxo

Something girly ♥

Hey lovelies,

How has your week started? ♥

I'm having a great start, we got some exciting news I can share with you later this week. ;) I'm currently having the last vacation week from the school, and still waiting to have the Summer vacation from work - once the school has started, crazy, isn't it?

Anyways, I've been spending time away from the laptop lately, so I'm sorry for the lack of posting/answering comments/visiting your blogs. I'm sure it'll change once the school starts and I'm forced to write papers on the computer. Now, have you already seen my apartment post? If not, you should check it out now. It's nothing miraculous, but it's our home. So check it out, and leave a comment. ;)

Now, speaking of apartments, there was a Housing Fair near us for a month, and of course, as we love to dream about our future together, we had to go check the whole thing out. I don't have pictures from the fair itself, but if you're into it, you can go and read posts about it by other Finnish bloggers, like Noora (see her post here). What I have for you, is the outfit I wore that day.

Playsuit: Sunny's
Wedges: relative's old
Headband: Accessorize
Bow necklace: Seppälä
Rose ring: Accessorize
Bracelets: Accessorize
Bag: Mango

I'm slowly trying to introduce myself to bit more chic style, item by item, and this outfit is one example of how I do it. Pastels, neutrals, clean cuts, buns.... Those are elements I would love to get more into my daily looks.  Not necessarily everything at once, but maybe one or two at the time. Although here I pretty much grasped all of them. I hadn't worn those wedges in years, and actually broke my skin a bit wearing them. But that happens to the best of us, right? :D The playsuit here is something my mom and dad bought me, from a shop I never even dare to go into because of the prices. (They have the most lovely items, but just bit out of my price range.) All in all, I loved this outfit, and can't wait to rock it again - with some edgy details - once school starts again.

Now, the question is: How do you like this look?

I don't know how much it shows in the pictures, but I didn't have any nail polish (can you believe it?) to match the outfit. That's simply because I didn't have the time to do my nails before going to the fair. Later in that evening though, after work, I made this kinda nice manicure.

Manicure challenge

#8 Metallic nails

I guess there's many ways - and colors - for creating cool metallic nails. I was first going for just "plain" hologram nails, but then I just had to play around with tape and nail art pen. And the abstract result is as follows:

I used hologram polish from Make Up Store as a base, and a silver polish from IsaDora for the shapes. As I felt the shapes didn't show clearly enough, I lined them with a black nail art pen.

Do you like this manicure? What kind of metallic manicures you usually do?

Now, I need to catch some sleep just to get on with my normal school rhythm. I try to answer all the comments within the next 24 hours, I hate to have them unanswered like they've been past days. :P

I hope you'll all have a fabulous week! ♥

Blog ya later,

xoxo
