Thrifting the Trends - Bleached Denim

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend so far. I've been enjoying not being online so much, which really is good for the brain as at the office, I'm on computer all day for the most days, and that's unhealthy as it is, but also I've chose to have blogging as a hobby and try to be active in several social medias - especially Instagram - so I get maybe a bitt too much of the Internet/computer time constantly. Shutting off from it from time to time feels amazing.

This post is another part to the series "Thrifting the Trends", where I take the trends predicted on runwqays for the season SS19, and create them either by using what I already have, by thrifting or by DIYing the items. So I'm trying to show how most if not all trends can be recreated without necessarily going to the fast fashion shops and contributing to the problematic industry just because you're on a budget. The inspiration for the looks comes from the trend reports on Vogue and Pantone, one focusing on styles and other on colors.

Today's trend to thrift is bleached denim. This is probably one of the easiest ones as being a timeless material, denim is easy to find and part of most of us' closets anyway. I did have this jacket already hanging in my closet, and these jeans I wanted to get regardless of the trend because my closet was missing a nice high waisted light pair.

This outfit is actually one of my favorites of the things I've worn lately. It has a 90's grunge vibe to it - at least in my opinion, don't come for me if you don't agree - and it certainly has a little rock feel to it. Variations of this look might be something I will wear throughout the spring, depending on the weather and my mood. But this is the kind of way I would love to go with my style currently. This, and also some slightly gothic/metal babe looks. I have a vision, which I probably should collect as a mood board on Pinterest so I could have that as a reference when shopping for new things in order to have a clear guideline when incorporating new things - but also helping to get out the things I already have but don't go with the vibe. I'm hoping to be able to share that journey with you somewhat soon.

What do you think about this look? Let me know in the comments!

That's all I have for you today. I'm enjoying having yet another day to relax tomorrow, and hopefully that means I can prep a little something for the blog before getting to work week which I predict to be a bit hectic as many colleagues are on holidays. But that's okay, I get to be a hardworking bitch which makes  me thrive when it's in tolerable portions. If you want to see more content from me, check out my Instagram @silvertigo where I post my daily outfits and more! I'll see you in the next blog post!

Have a wonderful day
