Thrifting the Trends - Bleached Denim

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend so far. I've been enjoying not being online so much, which really is good for the brain as at the office, I'm on computer all day for the most days, and that's unhealthy as it is, but also I've chose to have blogging as a hobby and try to be active in several social medias - especially Instagram - so I get maybe a bitt too much of the Internet/computer time constantly. Shutting off from it from time to time feels amazing.

This post is another part to the series "Thrifting the Trends", where I take the trends predicted on runwqays for the season SS19, and create them either by using what I already have, by thrifting or by DIYing the items. So I'm trying to show how most if not all trends can be recreated without necessarily going to the fast fashion shops and contributing to the problematic industry just because you're on a budget. The inspiration for the looks comes from the trend reports on Vogue and Pantone, one focusing on styles and other on colors.

Grunge Inspired

Hello lovelies! How are you today? ♥ It's halfway of the second week in Montreal, and I can't believe time has flown by so fast. I also have to say it's been a blessing not to have to be on the laptop nearly at all since I did all these posts beforehand (so if you've been wondering how these all come out at the same time every day and the descriptions of our trip are vague, it's because I had to kind of wing it before actually leaving for the trip).

Today, I really wanted to share this casual summer look with you:

Summer outfit

Festival inspired

Hello lovelies! How are you today? ♥ It's day 2 in Montreal and today we're going to see the Montreal GP pits and track and all that because it's open for public - but no driving yet, the practices don't start until tomorrow. But this is kind of equally exciting since we get to see people working in the field of F1 and maybe even some drivers, if we're lucky. I have all the cameras and such fully loaded so I can get proper images taken. I'm also hoping we could tour around the track with a bus or something, but let's see if that even is possible.

In today's post, I really want to share this summer festival inspired outfit with you:

Denim Shorts With Tee

Hello lovelies! How are you today? ♥ I can't believe it's already Wednesday. This time next week, I'll be in Montreal, which still feels so unreal to me. I can't imagine what it's like there, and I also don't know how I'll handle the 8 hour flight because I'm not that great at sitting in one spot too long. But hopefully a movie or something will keep me enough entertained to get through the flight. I mean, people do fly longer distances all the time so it can't be too bad, right?

Today, I really wanted to share this outfit with you all. It's something I wore for a day off and liked a ton.

Hello my darlings!

How has your week started? ♥

I can honestly say I've had better Mondays, I got roughly 3 hours of solid sleep due a nightly panic attack and I've been not feeling too hot today. Luckily, my hubby has taken quite good care of me and I've gotten through this day. This is so weird because I personally like Mondays quite a bit. It's a fresh start and also a new leaf on my planner every time and I can't wait to get writing.

Am I a freak of nature because of that? I guess so.

Anyway, today I wanted to share an outfit with you, this one is from my bridal shower weekend, and this is what I wore while driving home. (Though the pictures were taken the next day as I repeated the look for the sake of shooting it.)

I personally really liked this casual outfit, it had quite a bit of details without being too overboard. I love the metal elements - the eagle, the studs - and how they kind of pull the whole thing together. And yes, I'm again matching the shoes to the top. And I love the combo. This was very comfy look to drive in, and I can definitely see myself repeating this in the future.

What do you guys think about this look? Let me know in the comments!

This girl is going now next to her hubby, getting some strawberries for snacking and watching some TV before heading to bed. I'm so exhausted I should be sleeping already, but I had to come here and write this post for you. I'll be back tomorrow with another little post, but in the meantime you can follow me on Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat and Facebook to see some non-blogged material. See you there!

Have a fantastic day ♥

KISS Girl

Hey lovelies!

How are you all?

My work week is done, and tomorrow it's time for adventures in Helsinki, which is pretty exciting. I get to hang out with one of my two fabulous maid of honors, and I'm kinda hoping I manage to get at least a tiny hint about my bachelorette party. Although, knowing her loyalty, she probably won't spill a thing. But, I'm hoping to get nice footage for you guys in multiple platforms.

Today, however, it's time for an outfit post. This one has to be one of my favorites this year (and maybe ever) here on the blog. See for yourself and let me know your verdict on it.

Totally loving how old band shirts have been a trend this Spring, I could totally build my style around them very easily. That particular was a bit loose, so I cut it open from the sides and created some fringe to give it a bit of a festival vibe. Ripped jeans are always a thing for me, and they felt like a natural pair for the top. I personally love every piece in this look a lot, and I feel the booties give  bit of a girly/chic vibe to the look.

What do you guys think about the look? Let me know in the comments!

Now, I will prepare couple of posts for you so I can enjoy my weekend without laptop, but I will be checking out your comments via mobile. You can also follow me around via Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat (I'm silvertigo in all of them) or you can check out the Facebook site of my blog (link in sidebar), because I'm usually fairly active in all of them even if I happen to not post for a day or two.

Have a fantastic weekend darlings ♥

Bandana

Hello lovelies!

How are you all today? ♥

Sorry about the silence of couple of days, I've been relatively busy with life, including wedding planning, purchasing gifts for loved ones and rearranging my office space. Now I'm happily sitting in my new typing corner (which I will be posting about once it's perfect) writing this post. I feel so much better with this arrangement, even though there's still plenty of little things to do. (Like getting a lamp and decluttering a bit more.

However, today I really wanted to talk about this little I wore a while back and loved a lot.

Ripped Jeans: Gina Tricot/DIY Denim Shirt: Lee Cooper Tee: secondhand Bandana: Seppälä Sneakers: Boohoo Short Necklace: Gina Tricot Long Necklace: H&M Bracelets: Accessorize, KappAhl, H&M, DIY

I can't describe to you how much I loved to wear this look. It made me feel super confident and I felt like the look was very much "me", especially the destroyed jeans that divide opinions a lot. I know they can look sloppy to some, but I personally love them so much I don't even care if people hate them. I added lot of pink inspired by the tee to make the look a bit more soft and girly. (and of course because it is my favorite color)

What do you guys think about this look? Let me know in the comments ♥

Now, I'm heading to bed because in the morning I need to be again energetic and ready to face the fun challenges of the work week. I can't stress enough how happy I am with my internship place, it is one of the reasons I actually had the inspiration and energy to rearrange and better my home office. I want to feel at least half s efficient when I'm working home (whether it is blogging, school, or any other task that needs to be done), so the little changes were necessary. I still have few small things I would love to have in the home office before showing you the renewed version, but once those get done I will give you some kind of a tour around it.

But that is a story for another day. I will see you soon, but in the meantime you can follow me on Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat - where you can find me as silvertigo - for little sneak peeks around my days and all that jazz.

Have a fantastic start for the new week!

Denim Shirt ♥

Hey you guys!

How are you lovelies today? ♥

I'm personally feeling pretty awesome, as the single most biggest thing for school this week is over and done with (which is the research interviews I was talking about in the previous post), and even though we still have a presentation and an exam to go, I feel already relieved with the week. I don't know how to describe the feeling, I just feel like I can take on the world and all the challenges right now. And that's pretty cool.

Today I wanna share a couple of photos from little over a week ago, when we went to a shopping trip with my man. I didn't really get much as I'm on a budget, but it was fun to check out the stores and see what I could get once the Christmas sales start.

We ate on Sticky Wingers, which is a fun little restaurant located in the restaurant world of the Ideapark mall. Sticky Wingers works together with another restaurant called Coyote, and no matter which one you eat in, you can order on both menus. We decided to get burgers from Coyote's menu.

Notice the phone addict having the pink thing on the table all the time... Bad me. But, in my defense, I let it go once the food came and I had taken a picture of that.

I opted for a gluten free chicken ranch burger, which was super delicious! If you, like me, are a coeliac, you can eat in Coyote without worries. They can make all their burgers and most of their other dishes with gluten free ingredients, and they taste just as good as the "regular" food. After eating, we went around the shops trying to find some little things for both of us.

And lastly, my outfit of the day. I'm not 120% happy with the lighting here, but I managed to make to colors at least somewhat decent so these shall do.

Combat boots: Skobox

I really loved this look a lot, and I can honestly say I wore this at least three times in a short while. The denim shirt is something I had accidentally left in our old apartment's storage, but the new people there were kind enough to let us know it's there. And I have loved wearing it since. And the shoes are something I can't get enough of, as I've been looking for a nice pair of combat boots for a while now, and when I saw these, I simply had to have them. They're perfect. This whole look was very basic as it is, so I just threw in a statement necklace to give that little something to it.

What do you all think about the look here? Let me know in the comments!

Now, I will go to relax a bit and then prep myself a bit for the school day tomorrow. I think I need to go through our presentation material, as well as to read another group's work so that I can ask questions about it. But that's not a bad homework at all, don't you think? I'll talk to you again tomorrow or on Thursday, depending on how much stuff will come on my way. But stay tuned on my social media platforms as I update them a bit more frequently than the blog here. ;)

Have a fantastic day ♥

Iron Man ♥

Heya babes!

How are you all? ♥

So it was a bit crazy day today. I was at school until 7 pm, and I still feel I haven't recovered. The Russian lecture was literally too much for my head today. Anyway, I figured I'd post this outfit which I personally loved a lot.

So there you go, an outfit built around my Iron Man print skirt which I seriously love (and I can't wait for the Spring to properly use it again). I tried to create something with a bit of retro type of vibe to it, but it's totally up to you if I managed to do that.

Let me know your thoughts about this look in the comments below!

Now, I gotta go catch some sleep. I have 6:30 am wake up, so I shouldn't even be typing this late. But, what can you do if there's only so many hours in a day and you have so much to do... (And, I gotta get the old posts over and done with before the Halloween ones.) I'll see you guys soon!

Have a lovely day ♥

Denim Shorts ♥

Hey there lovelies!

How are you all? ♥

Yesterday, we got back home so late I didn't really have the chance to post anything, so hope you don't mind me posting this now instead! Today, I'm sharing one more school look (not that they would stop there, though! I have loads to post.) and I really hope you guys like it!

So that's the look, I really liked it with the socks and the scarf. I'm hoping we would still be blessed with such warm weather that I could actually wear shorts and all. I know, it's probably impossible since Finland usually gets pretty chilly this time of year. Guess I should invest on a huge scarf of two. Anyways...

Let me know what you think about the look in the comments below!

Tomorrow, I hope I can give you a bit different post than usually - it depends strongly on my schedule which isn't too clear at this point. But I promise I have many nice things planned for you this week!

Have a fabulous day ♥
