Tasting Burgers at Friends & BRGRS

Hey lovelies! How are you today? ♥ It's been a hot minute since I last blogged, and I've been dealing with a ton in my everyday life so I had to take a moment away from the blog. Last week, however, I had an amazing opportunity which reminded me of most of the things I love about blogging. Like meeting new people.

I was kindly invited to Friends & BRGRS Tampere to taste their menu and learn about their restaurant in general. Anyone who knows me knows that I love food, so I absolutely had to find the time to go.

Friends & BRGRS aims to make everything in their own kitchen - buns included - from as fresh and domestic ingredients as possible. I think that's such an awesome concept, since in my mind it equals quality food.

They want to build an open relationship with their customers, and therefore they've decided to keep the kitchen showing to the public. There's only a glass wall between the kitchen and the restaurant, so you can see the making of the burgers and all from scratch.

menu

Their menu consists of different burgers that can be customized to your taste, as well as fries and dips you can add to make it a meal. And of course couple of milkshakes.

We got to taste three different burgers, along with fries, dips and so on.

classic burger

The first burger was Classic BRGR, which is exactly what the name promises. A simple but tasty burger with beef, veggies, their own mayo and cheese. Really delicious and balanced combo of ingredients, and even the gluten free bun was amazing. It's not that on every place.

fries

The fries in there are made with a triple-cook method from fresh Finnish potatoes. So they are awesomely crunchy which I like about fries, while still being nice and chewy on the inside. They tasted perfect with the house dips.

Although I'm a bit biased because I love nearly all fries, chips and other potato snacks.

chevre burger

The second burger was Chevre BRGR, which naturally had chevre cheese in it, along with beef, chili jam, and veggies. The cheese in this one wasn't too overwhelming, but rather a fresh addition to the flavors. I heard people who don't like chevre that much enjoying this one since the tastes are so balanced in this one. I would eat this again for sure. Maybe also with the veggie beef.

vegan mayo

One of the cool things they offered was vegan aioli. I've never had a vegan version of it, but since they had that on the menu and seemed to be very proud of it, I had to try it. And it was just like regular aioli. I need to learn how to make some home, since that was absolutely delicious.

And it was perfect with fries.

Lastly, we got to taste the Vegan BRGR. Surprisingly this was my absolute favorite, mostly because the veggie beef/patty in it was the bomb. I've never tasted as good veggie patty in my life, despite the Finnish school system offering me loads of different variations throughout the years. This however, was fantastic. So good, that I actually ended up ordering another one just for myself at the end of the tasting.

classic burger

My husband is more traditional with his burger taste, so he got the Classic BRGR. Which is a great one, and I'm actually wondering how it would taste with the vegan patty. Probably nice.

veggie burger

This is the Vegan BRGR with gluten free bun. Doesn't it look just amazing? I will definitely go back just for these. And vegan mayo. Despite not even being vegan. But seriously, even if you love your beef, do try this one out. It's delicious!

milkshake

Lastly, we got to test out their desserts. They have a couple of milkshakes on the menu, all of which are made from amazing ingredients. The strawberry milkshake is made from Finnish strawberries, and it has a fresh berry taste to it - it doesn't feel as full of sugar as shakes do in some places. Also the chocolate shake tastes amazing, as it is made from Fazer chocolate - which, if you know anything about Finnish candy, is our most treasured chocolate brand.

All in all I was really impressed by the menu and the restaurant itself. I had gone there before when it first opened, but without really hearing what they do and why, I didn't know how to appreciate it properly. After the tasting night, however, I really opened my eyes to their concept properly. And since they have quite good chances for adapting to different diets, I can warmly recommend trying this restaurant out. They have restaurants in few other cities as well, and the menu should be pretty much the same in every one of them.

Thank you so much for the staff of Tampere restaurant for having us bloggers/instagrammers there for a casual night, I really enjoyed it - and especially the food.

Has any of you tried out the restaurant? What did you think about it? Let me know in the comments below!

That's all I have today, I hope you've enjoyed the food pics and all here. For the next month or so, I have planned posts for you so that we would have new content around every other day. I think that would be a pace I manage to keep up, and it should be interesting enough for you as well. If you want to see more from me, I recommend that you follow me on Instagram where I post stuff daily. I'm pretty much loving the Stories option there and I literally use that multiple times every single day so that's where you can interact with me the easiest. I'll talk to you soon!

Have a wonderful day ♥
