Almost Maxi Dress

Hello darlings,

How are you all? ♥

As promised, here is the "proper" post. I still hope you would read the previous post, and take the poll on top of the right-hand side of this page. I would like to develop this blog into a direction that is what you want. Because even though I write for my own fun, I would like to make content that's interesting to you. And more versatile than what I have already.

So please, take time to answer the little question on the right. Thank you! ♥

I've spent today preparing for an exam I have on Wednesday, I have 400 pages (total) to read for it, and the subject in matter is project management. Not my biggest turn-on, but it's mandatory to study, so... No choice there, lol.

Before work, I was taking a little break from studying to write this post, having a cup of chocolate cappuccino and doing some household chores. It got me thinking that sometimes it would be convenient to live with the parents while I'm still studying, it would take lot of pressure off my shoulders - I wouldn't have to work at the same time, pay all the bills, take care of all household things... Meaning that I would have so much more time on my hands.

Or maybe I just need to learn how to organize more, I don't know.

Anyone else out there having way too little time on their hands?

Anyways, today I wanted to show you pictures of one of my few (and I really mean few) maxi dresses. I'm so short they're not very flattering on me, but I was giving this a try anyways - and before you say it, no, it's not really a maxi, but it is as maxi as I get with my dresses. I really liked this outfit for a sunny, hot day - like the one we were having while shooting these. I hope you'll enjoy the pictures as much as I do. Hehe.

Awkward foot pose. Idk why I crossed my legs for this, it looks weird. Lol.

Dress: second-hand from mom's friend (it's really a skirt, though.)
Belt: Seppälä
Sandals: SpiritStore
Bracelets: Nelly.com
Dreamcatcher necklace: Seppälä
Handbag: Mango

I really liked this outfit a lot, the shades of green and blue are really something I think I would love to wear more. The dress is an old skirt that was too long for me, which I fixed by attaching straps, and wearing it with a belt whenever I put it on. It's not a perfect fit (for obvious reasons) but I do love it. And I think it looks very pretty in pictures.

What do you all think about this look? Let me know!

31-day manicure challenge

#15, delicate print

The ones who've been reading my blog for a while might guess I was happy to do this challenge, because it meant using lace somewhere. And you know me, I love lace! Of course I also had to mix it with pink.

And here's what came up:

#16, Tribal print

Again a manicure I probably wouldn't have done without the challenge. I created a ombre base, and doodled some print over it. Pretty cool for a first try, right?

Now, what do you think? Are these any nice?

I hope each and every one of you will have a fantastic week! Next time, I'll be posting (finally) the hair extension post, so if there's any question about the matter, fire away. I'll answer them all in the next post.

Have a fantastic week! ♥

Little Miss Trendy Shorts ♥

Hey lovelies,

How are you? ♥

I'm doing quite fine, have been little sick - just a minor cold with a hint of sore throat, don't worry - and therefore didn't go to school yesterday. I spent the day trying to rest as much as possible, and letting my body heal itself. It worked out pretty well, and as you're reading this, I'm already back at school - or done with the school day already, depending what time you're reading. ;)

Anyways. I have some great news. Firstly, my fiance finally got back studying, and he's pretty excited about it. Yay! Secondly, it seems we finally get our bedroom in a proper order this weekend - I'll let you know what happens, later.

But today, I was thinking about talking these super cute shorts I purchased this Summer. I haven't had the chance to show them off before here - though they've been seen already on my IG and Pose accounts. So here, you can see them for the first time, in a Summer outfit:

Shorts: Little Miss Trendy
Top: Cubus
Ballet flats: Skopunkten
Blazer: H&M
Necklace: Accessorize
Bag: Mango
Earrings: SpiritStore
Flower ring: Seppälä
Bird ring: SpiritStore

So this was a girly look, trying to achieve a kind of edgy-meets-polished vibe to it, and I hope you find it as nice as I did. This look - like the one in the previous post - are the kind of looks I could easily wear all the time, if only the weather stayed nice and sunny enough. I'm in love with those shorts so completely, don't you think they're adorable?

What do you think about the look? Let me know!

Now, I could mention a little more about the shorts. They're by this talented young lady from Texas, and she's working under the name Little Miss Trendy (see her Wordpress site through this link!). I found her through Pose, and got interested about her work because of her nice taste on clothing and fashion. I usually don't order from just anyone, I'm the kind who needs tons of recommendations first. But something about her made me think I should order from her. And, as I'm super happy about the product and the service I got from her, I'm warmly recommending her to you. She ships the products worldwide, it just adds a bit to your price if you're outside US like I am.

But anyways, do check her out on Pose, and on Wordpress, she's such a lovely young lady. I warmly thank you for the shorts, sweetie! Maybe I'll get another pair next Summer ;)

I would also love to order custom/indie nail polishes, but most of them don't ship to Finland. If there's a lovely person out there reading this, who knows an indie nail polish brand who ships to Finland? It would be so helpful!

And speaking of nails...

Manicure challenge

#14, Floral nails

After seeing so many versions of vintage floral/rose nails, I had even before this challenge decided this would be fun to try out. It was much easier than I thought, but I still feel I'm in need of lots of practice. :D Anyway, this is my take on floral nails (without stamping).

So, girly and cute all the way.

What do you think about these nails?  ♥

For more recent nail art, outfits, and other bits of my life, check out my IG account, where I post daily. ;) (search for the name Silvertigo, you'll find me!) And leave a mark you've been there, so I can follow you!

Have a lovely week!

Leopard Jeans

Heya lovelies!

How are you all today? ♥

We're currently spending the weekend at my parents' place, and as I'm typing this, we're waiting my dad to grill some delicious pork for us. Don't you just love spending the time with your parents and other relatives?

I know I do.

It's already halfway of my vacation, and I've enjoyed it quite a bit. It would be so easy just study and focus to it 100%. Well, unfortunately I can't do that. I have to work to cover all the bills and such, and I always love to have a bit extra for - well, you know, pretty things.

So part-time job it is, until I have a degree.

Tomorrow we're supposed to go see this friend of my dad's, who can fix little damages people have in their bodies - like an ankle that doesn't move as it should, or a bump on your leg that's not supposed to be there. So yeah, he's basically a miracle worker - or some kind of healer, and I'm excited to see what he can do.

And I'll report back afterwards. ;)

Anyways, I'm kinda excited about school, though I hate early mornings, and the dry lectures, but the thought of getting my degree - and seeing my friends doing it - is so tempting that I feel like I can make it. Even if last year was exhausting.

Anyways, I have to cut this short so family won't have to wait me for dinner. ;)

So here's the look for today (photos taken a couple of weeks ago):

Top: H&M
Leopard print jeans: H&M
Wedges: SpiritStore
Cropped leather jacket: VILA
Layered necklace: H&M
Black bracelets: H&M
Rhinestone bracelet: KappAhl
Skull bracelet: Gina Tricot

So that's what I wore some while ago - this is actually something I will be wearing again during this school year. How many of you love leopard print jeans? You can find your own pair at H&M this Fall, even though my pair is a sale find from Spring, they're very affordable! (And not to mention fabulous!) I should maybe warn you, you'll be seeing quite a bit these jeans later on - they are my go-to pants this Fall (yep, obsessed with the print, if you haven't noticed already...) - and I believe they are very versatile with the neutral grey tones. And the wedges are a must-have as well, as you maybe can see from the pictures, they've been worn a lot (so much so they're about to fall apart, lol.). I simply love outfits like this, and I hope I can show you more this kind of looks during the next three months or so. (Before Winter, that is.)

So, the question is: How do you feel about this outfit?

Of course, the manicure challenge is still going on, and I'm already feeling sad it's coming closer to an end. (In real life, not so much in the blog, though.) I'd like to remind you that you can suggest manicures (and that means ANY manicure) any time you feel like it. And I'll try and create manicures - and tutorials for you.

Now, let's see the manicure for this day's post:

Manicure challenge

#13, Animal print nails

So, this one was kinda obvious to me - I had to do a leopard print. (Those who've followed longer know that I have a bit of obsession, especially in nail art.) I also added an accent nail, just for the fun of it. And maybe little for practicing the ombre nail thingy.

Photobucket

I started off with a basic French mani, and painted the ring finger white. Then I created a little ombre effect for the ring finger, and added little spots (white for ring fingers, colorful for others). After that I painted the spots into leopard print using nail art pen.

If you'd like a tutorial about this, let me know, and I will make it happen after the manicure challenge. :)

What are your thoughts about this manicure? ♥

I hope all of you are having a nice weekend - I sure am - and do enjoy the company of your loved ones!

Something girly ♥

Hey lovelies,

How has your week started? ♥

I'm having a great start, we got some exciting news I can share with you later this week. ;) I'm currently having the last vacation week from the school, and still waiting to have the Summer vacation from work - once the school has started, crazy, isn't it?

Anyways, I've been spending time away from the laptop lately, so I'm sorry for the lack of posting/answering comments/visiting your blogs. I'm sure it'll change once the school starts and I'm forced to write papers on the computer. Now, have you already seen my apartment post? If not, you should check it out now. It's nothing miraculous, but it's our home. So check it out, and leave a comment. ;)

Now, speaking of apartments, there was a Housing Fair near us for a month, and of course, as we love to dream about our future together, we had to go check the whole thing out. I don't have pictures from the fair itself, but if you're into it, you can go and read posts about it by other Finnish bloggers, like Noora (see her post here). What I have for you, is the outfit I wore that day.

Playsuit: Sunny's
Wedges: relative's old
Headband: Accessorize
Bow necklace: Seppälä
Rose ring: Accessorize
Bracelets: Accessorize
Bag: Mango

I'm slowly trying to introduce myself to bit more chic style, item by item, and this outfit is one example of how I do it. Pastels, neutrals, clean cuts, buns.... Those are elements I would love to get more into my daily looks.  Not necessarily everything at once, but maybe one or two at the time. Although here I pretty much grasped all of them. I hadn't worn those wedges in years, and actually broke my skin a bit wearing them. But that happens to the best of us, right? :D The playsuit here is something my mom and dad bought me, from a shop I never even dare to go into because of the prices. (They have the most lovely items, but just bit out of my price range.) All in all, I loved this outfit, and can't wait to rock it again - with some edgy details - once school starts again.

Now, the question is: How do you like this look?

I don't know how much it shows in the pictures, but I didn't have any nail polish (can you believe it?) to match the outfit. That's simply because I didn't have the time to do my nails before going to the fair. Later in that evening though, after work, I made this kinda nice manicure.

Manicure challenge

#8 Metallic nails

I guess there's many ways - and colors - for creating cool metallic nails. I was first going for just "plain" hologram nails, but then I just had to play around with tape and nail art pen. And the abstract result is as follows:

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

I used hologram polish from Make Up Store as a base, and a silver polish from IsaDora for the shapes. As I felt the shapes didn't show clearly enough, I lined them with a black nail art pen.

Do you like this manicure? What kind of metallic manicures you usually do?

Now, I need to catch some sleep just to get on with my normal school rhythm. I try to answer all the comments within the next 24 hours, I hate to have them unanswered like they've been past days. :P

I hope you'll all have a fabulous week! ♥
