Thrifting The Trends - Lace

Hello March. The month I'm going to not be eating meat or chicken. I'm hoping that would give a boost towards my summer body, not necessarily by losing weight but certainly by making me feel lighter, even less bloated and all that jazz. More on that once we get more into this month, as currently it's only been two days.

Anyway, today's post is another installment to the Thrifting The Trends series. If you're new here, this is a series where I take trends and colors from a Vogue article here and Pantone color trend report here and create outfits based on them by thrifting, using my existing clothes and DIYing. The goal is to show that everyone can wear the trends in normal life, it just takes adjusting the things you see on the catwalks into your own wardrobe. And it is actually much easier than one would think.

I promise.

Thrift Haul ♥

Heya lovelies!

How are you all? ♥

I'm super happy today because of many things, one of them being the fact that tomorrow (well, today as I'm typing this at night) is a holiday here in Finland and that means a day off to spend with my man. Love it. Also it means we can actually take photos during the day which is super fun.

Today, however, I really wanted to share this thrift haul. I know many bloggers don't maybe show secondhand stuff because it's not chic enough or whatever, but I love going through thrift stores, secondhand shops, flea markets and such in hopes of finding nice stuff for a great price. On the weekend, me and my girl K went thrift shopping, and we found so much good stuff I can't even believe it. Naturally, I can't show you the goodies my friend got, but you sure can see my haul below:

The shoes were new (though in sale) but all the other things are secondhand. Guess the total for all these? (I'll tell you the answer at the end of this post.)

Because my closet lacks proper basics, I was happy to find this grandpa shirt. It's soft, grey and amazing.

Yet again, a necessary basic. I've been wearing this one today, and I totally love it.

Basic top that is easy to incorporate even into rock chic looks.

Text print top. I've wanted one for long but haven't met the right one. Until now. "Love never fails". True.

 photo DSC09023Large.jpg

Unhealthy leopard print obsession? Probably. But I just love the print.

 photo DSC09029Large.jpg

Print I haven't tried out before: zebra. With little zebras. In pink. Need I say more?

 photo DSC09026Large.jpg

And even more leopard print. Because I'm insane.

 photo DSC09030Large.jpg

Overly cute scarf with pastel skull print. Had to have it. Obviously.

And last thing from thrift store: A gold and black necklace. Simple and pretty, and I can guarantee you will see this one in outfit posts.

The total before the shoes: little under 15 Euros.

We also went through many "normal" shops with new things. But when we saw Spirit Store having a final sale, we had to get in for a peek. And it was worth it, because I found these beauties for 6 Euros. Yeah, leopard print and studs. You know me.

And I also got these boots I had been eyeing for a while for about 24 Euros. Which isn't a bad price for shoes either.

So that kind of a haul this time - I totally need to get stuff away from my closet because of these but I don't really mind, because change is good, right?

Let me know what you think about my finds! Are there others out there who enjoy thrift shopping? Comment below and tell me ♥

Now, I'll go get some much needed sleep so I can at least try and look fresh tomorrow when we actually have time for outfit photos. But talk to you later!

Have a lovely day, guys!

Bare Midriff

Hey lovelies!

How are you all? ♥

Isn't it fun it's almost weekend? I know I'm loving it. Today I was shopping and lunching with my fiance and his friend who's staying over until tomorrow, and I really had a lot of fun. I also got an item I need to finish off a DIY project, so stay tuned for a brand new DIY post. ;)

And I got a little something to put on packages I'll put on mail tomorrow. Those who are waiting for me to send something to them, heads up!

Did I mention earlier I had a nasty little fall the other day? I got three cuts from asphalt and it hurts when I walk, but other than that, I'm just fine. Days like that really remind me why I keep photos stored for the future - when something weird happens, I still can blog. :D

Now, what I can say for the outfit... I had been curious to try out the bare midriff trend, but haven't really had the top - or the bottom to create the look. Then one day, when I was tidying my closet, it came to me. I had the top and had the bottom, and when it was warm enough, I wore them together.

And here's the result:

I must say this is one of my favorite Summer outfits this far - though I've worn many lovely ones after this, too. I love the way my hair looks here, the shade is so cute. I try my best to keep it that way (meaning, a bath tomorrow with some bubbly and a color mask ;)), but we'll see - as, you know, I'm not really a redhead.

What do you all think about the look? Have you tried this trend, or do you plan to leave it for the others?

Oh, you know what I'm starting tomorrow? The 31-day manicure challenge! (Mentioned in this post.) ;) Okay, it'll be more like 2-3 months long due my schedule, but it'll be exciting - at least for me, anyways. The manicures will be featured in the blog, and I try to make some of them into tutorials if I just have the time.

Also, I have some exciting news to share with you, but it's not quite the time yet. Can't wait to get to tell you all, though!

Have a fabulous start for your weekend!

Blog ya later,

xoxo
