Guest Post By Jackie Clark

Hey lovelies!

How are you all today? ♥

I hope your weekend has been fun. I'm sorry for not posting this weekend, I've been hanging out with boys and doing some other projects, so there has not been time to look photogenic. :D But I'll fix that on the next post, I promise.

A little while ago, I was contacted by Jackie, who wanted to write a guest post to my blog (she has also written great posts to many other blog, so I was excited for the opportunity). Her idea sounded inspiring, and now, I'm sharing with you what she wrote. ;)

Take it away, Jackie!

Fashion Forward: Fashion In, Cancer Out
By: Jackie Clark

Within beauty lies power; when a woman feels beautiful her confidence level rises and she feels a sense of empowerment instantly. The world is at her disposure and nothing can stop her in accomplishing her goals and putting her dreams into a reality. A motivated and fabulous woman can take whatever challenge faces her in style and grace with her designer stilettos and killer business suit.
Unfortunately, there is something that can bring her down. When her doctor informs her that she has been diagnosed with mesothelioma cancer and will have to undergo treatment to remove the cancer from her body; mentally, this type of prognosis could pose as a detrimental hurdle for a woman to get over. However, the more optimistic a woman is throughout her treatment, the more of a chance she will get back on the road of normalcy as soon as possible.
Since cancer treatment takes a large toll on a person’s body, doctors encourage their patients to improve their quality of life as much as possible. Doctors want their patients feeling positive, confident and able to fight their cancer because the better the mood they maintain the better quality of life that will ensure for themselves.
For women, that is not too difficult. The one thing that never fails to make a woman happy is fashion. Shoes, clothes, handbags and accessories are like magic potions that make women smile and bring a sense of happiness that nothing else can.
That’s why women indulge and splurge in shopping retail therapy; after a break up, a bad day at work or a failed attempt at living her dream because it makes her feel better about herself and takes her mind off whatever issue is pressing at that moment. A woman will hit her favorite stores of high end fabrics, designer labels and beautiful creations that will make her look and feel like the most beautiful, fabulous version of herself she can be.
Shoes are probably the most powerful item in a woman’s closet. There is nothing like the feeling of slipping on a beautiful pair of designer shoes; heels especially. The way they automatically make a woman’s leg look long and lean; she stands a little taller, throws her shoulders back and holds her head high. Shoes can transform an outfit. A pair of jeans can be turned into a designer ensemble with a gorgeous pair of heels and a dress can go from drab to fab with the right shoes.
Clothing is fabulous as well. When a woman puts on a little black dress and sees how great she looks, she feels amazing. The perfect pair of jeans fit just right and makes her look like a million dollars. Skirts make her feel feminine and pretty. Suits make her feel powerful.

Fashion
makes women feel incredible about themselves and using it to get through a cancer diagnosis and treatment should be at the top of every patient’s list. Cancer will never win the battle in the fight for fashion and feeling sexy, fresh and chic. So why not get on the bandwagon to feeling beautiful? Get out there, explore the world of fashion and be the bold, confident gorgeous woman you are!

Don't we all agree on this? Fashion makes you feel so much better. ♥

I want to thank Jackie for writing this article, I also believe every woman should feel beautiful in their own skin, no matter where they live, whether they have a sickness or not, whether they're single or in a relationship... It shouldn't matter. Every woman can look gorgeous. ♥

Then a little extra, my nails this weekend:

I was playing around with neon colours and leopard print - and I thought these were fun. That being said, beware, I think there'll be more fun prints like these in my nails this Spring/Summer. ;)

But now, time for some sewing and stuff. Like mentioned, I have some projects on my hands. :D

Blog ya later!

xoxo

  13. Hey hey ,
Such a great post... It's bizarre that no one really commented on the cancer thing... It's the second time I've read about cancer today... :( Materialistic things aside, a good laugh, hanging out with friends and family are also great mood lifters! Plus laughter is free!

Your nails are looking fierce sweetpea!

    1. I've known people who've died to cancer, so I figured it's a decent subject. Even though I rather don't put heavy stuff on my blog (people have newspaper for that), I thought this would be a nice view on the matter. And it fits so well along the lighter things :)
