DIY: Studded Shoes ♥

Hey everyone!

How are you all today? ♥

I was spending the weekend doing stuff offline, not being on the laptop that much, but today I realized is better to get back with blogging at last. I don't know about you guys, but I really hate the fact it's so dark outside every day. I have outfits to be photographed, but as there's good light for only 1-2 hours per day, it's hard to get pictures outside. And because of the lack of snow, the outside feels pretty uninspiring with all the grey and wet. Oh well, it'll probably get better soon. I hope.

Anyways, what I've been doing lately, is some reorganizing in my blogging/sewing space. Couple of days ago I went through my fabric boxes and made a sample book, so I would know which fabrics I have in there the time inspiration strikes. I also dug up all my pathetically undone projects, and decided to dedicate this month for finishing them one by one. The first one I'll be showing you today.

As some of you might remember, I have two pairs of these kinda sorta Jeffrey Campbell clones of shoes. One pair is leather, one is suede. I don't really care that much for suede, as I'm clumsy and all, and I get it all messed up in use. But as the pair is so cute, I figured I should make them more "me" some way. And, as I love crafting things and I just don't do them enough as it is...

 photo DSC01581Large.jpg

...I took out these awesome studs, a piercing tool (a.k.a. a thin kitchen knife) and a screwdriver, and started putting some studs on the shoes.

 photo DSC01583Large-1.jpg

And on they go. If you decide to do this too, it might take a lot of patience, depending a lot how thick the material of your shoes is. Suede itself is reasonably easy to pierce, but the heel parts (as in the back of your foot part) was tough as it has this supporting, tough material there that helps the shoe keep its shape. I don't know if one should actually go and pierce that part or if it will eventually ruin the shoes, but I had to try, because otherwise I couldn't have made the kind of shoes I wanted.

 photo DSC06628Large.jpg

And here you have the finished shoes, not as amazing as real studded Litas would be, but a nice low budget option before I can actually afford a pair.

 photo DSC06630Large.jpg

So that's the first project I finished this year, these had been hanging on my table for months now (shameful, I do know) but finally they are done and I can clean them and put them in their box to wait for the spring days so I can finally use them again. ;)

I think I just might post more of these little craft projects this year, but before that I want you know:

Would you like to see more of these crafty posts? And, moreover, would you like to see the kind of craft posts that are also step-by-step instructions, so you can try the projects yourself? Let me know in the comments! ♥

Now, this girl needs to head to the kitchen and get cooking with our dinner so that I can go to work without being hungry, and so that I can have some time alone with my man before work. I'll be back as soon as possible, though!

Have a fabulous day, lovelies!

Blog ya later,

Nelly Shoe Haul ♥

Heya babes ♥

How are you all?

Today is the Independence Day of Finland, so I can enjoy the day with my boyfriend, comfortably in a hoodie and chill out reading blogs and drinking tea. I love this kind of days.

You know what else I love? Shoes. And being size 36 (that's around UK 3 and US 4 I think) it's most of the times hard for me to find a pair on sale, as they don't order that many pairs of such a small size around here. So, I was over the moon a while back when I entered to Nelly.com, where I had a 10 Euro discount code to. They had so many shoes under 10 Euros/pair, so the silly little me simply couldn't resist getting more than one. Wanna see what I got?

 photo DSC05970Large.jpg

I've never purchased this many shoes at once in my entire life - and might be that I never will again, haha - but for once, this was so much fun. But seriously, let's see the pairs I got:

 photo DSC05977Large.jpg

First up, a cute pair of flats with some edge. I love the cute powder pink color and the fact they also have studs and rhinestones in them.

 photo DSC05979Large.jpg

Look at the details! Love them!

 photo DSC05982Large.jpg

A simple pair of black heels with gold details. A kind of pair that has been long missing from my wardrobe but not anymore.

 photo DSC05985Large.jpg

And, these are so easy to walk in. They aren't too tall, and even with the thin heel, they are so balanced.

 photo DSC05986Large.jpg

A pair of black boots. Because you can't have too many of these. (Well, actually, I only have two now, so that's seriously not much.)

 photo DSC05991Large.jpg

A pair of super high cognac wedges. I absolutely fell in love with these, wedges are probably my favorite type of shoes after boots, as they are so, so easy to walk in. You can bet you'll be seeing kind of much of these in the spring, I can't wait to wear them outside.

 photo DSC05993Large.jpg

Another pair of basics, cute nude heels. These were also a must for spring and summer, so I'm very glad to finally find a pair for such a low price.

 photo DSC05996Large.jpg

Like the black heels, these are so easy to walk in. Can't wait to have a proper chance to wear them.

 photo DSC05998Large.jpg

A more extreme pair, powder pink super high heels with fierce detail.

 photo DSC05999Large.jpg

Even though these are way high, they are actually pretty reasonable to walk in. With a little indoors training during the cold season, I can sure rock these in spring. ;)

 photo DSC06001Large.jpg

And seriously look at the details! Love, love, love ♥

 photo DSC06002Large.jpg

Looking at this post, can you tell that I was lacking heels? Haha. Oh well, anyways... This one is a cool army green pair, decorated with - of course - studs and rhinestones.

 photo DSC06004Large.jpg

Now I admit, these are a quite a bit of challenge to walk in, but not impossible. And I couldn't say no to them, as they are so cool.

 photo DSC06005Large.jpg

Again, look at the detailing. I can totally see these bringing some edge to my spring/summer looks.

 photo DSC06006Large.jpg

And last but not least, a sky high pair of gold glitter heels. Now these I admit to be pretty hard to walk in, but they are so fabulous for party looks that I'm willing to learn to stay up in these - for a limited time, at least. These are so gorgeous I just wanna put them in a glass case and look at them every day. (I know, that sounds way weird.)

 photo DSC06009Large.jpg

So that's what I got for you today, I hope you liked this little haul post, and now, I gotta start making some food for us (I have a hungry boyfriend making me feel guilty for ditching the kitchen duties for blogging, haha).

But what do you all think about my finds? Not bad for under 80 Euro haul, right? ;)

I hope you're all having a fabulous day, and to all my Finnish readers out there: Hyvää Itsenäisyyspäivää! ♥

Blog ya later,

xoxo

Autumn News From Boohoo

Hi everyone!

How are you today? ♥

I have been enjoying a quite lazy day today, followed by a pretty hectic shift at work. Now, I probably should be in bed already, but I couldn't resist putting up a quick little post first. :)

As you might remember, I told you I was going to have a No Buy October. And, even though this post is about few new things, I haven't broken the promise I made myself. These are little things I purchased last month, but didn't have the chance to post them earlier. ;)

 photo DSC04852Large.jpg

So, few things from one of my favorite stores, Boohoo. I like their collection, all the items are the kind of style I like to wear, and their prices are pretty affordable.

 photo DSC04855Large.jpg

White lace dress

I chose this as I haven't ever really had a pretty white dress. Even though this might be too cold to wear anymore during this year, I know I will be wearing this next spring with boots and cute accessories. ;)

 photo DSC04858Large.jpg

Leopard detail onesie

As I don't have that many "just for chilling at home" kind of clothes, I was over the moon when I found this one. It's super comfy, and warm, and I love the fact it has the word GEEK printed on it. I promise I will post a picture of me wearing this during the winter, haha.

 photo DSC04859Large.jpg

Lilac hoodie

I love hoodies for casual days, and especially if they are both cute and warm. I'm still not sure if lilac is my color, but at least I can use this at home and while jogging.

 photo DSC04865Large.jpg

Aztec print leggings

These are already a favorite, if you follow me on Instagram, you probably know that already. I even painted my nails matching to these the other day. :D Obsessed? Yeah, you bet I am.

 photo DSC04864Large.jpg

Studded bag with fringe

As I didn't have a nice, medium-sized bag, I totally fell in love with this one. It's not so big that I can stuff it too heavy, but yet it's big enough to hold a DSLR camera and the necessities in it. And I love, love, love the details.

 photo DSC04870Large.jpg

Baby pink booties with perspex heels

I guess you already know how I love this kind of shoes - given that I have two pairs in black - so this is probably not a big surprise here. Sure, I'm more of a girl that wears flats all around, but if I want a killer pair of heels, I go for booties. The color on these babies was so adorable i simply couldn't resist them. But these, like the lace dress, might have to wait for next spring to actually get used.

So, these were my last purchases before November - when it comes to clothing. (There's still another little haul I'll post next week, but that's whole other stuff.)

Have you been finding any nice things lately? ♥

Now, I really need to go and crash, as I have so much to do tomorrow!

Have a fabulous day! ♥

Blog ya later,

xoxo

Back to School & Some Shopping

Hey glamorous people!

How are you all doing today? ♥

I for one am excited about this weekend, which I'm once again spending with the guys (and PS3, ice hockey and F1. Yay!). I hope they'll let me take some pictures, I would love to show the world the best company a girl could have - if you don't count the closest girlfriends, that is.

Yesterday, I was supposed to have an exam, but being sick made it impossible to prepare properly for it - let alone to go to school at all - so I'm trying to get my teacher let me do it next week. I'm going to be super busy even without the guys being around this weekend, due to the darn other projects I have for school... Frustrating. But hey, at least I don't have to figure out what to do with my freetime, as school decides it for me. That's so fun. *insert some major eye rolling*

Anyways, as mentioned in the previous post, my blog is officially transitioned into the Autumn. Therefore, there'll be lots of my school style, and like some of you have requested, there will be a bit more of my daily life next to the style pictures and all.

Though I must warn you, it might not be all that exciting. I'm just a student with a part-time job and no mentionable freetime. But I can always sneak in little bits and pieces of my life here to make this blog a bit more me.

Remember how I mentioned in the previous post I'd make a little shoplog for you? I snapped photos of few of my favorite items, didn't see the point of picturing absolutely everything, just because I've bought many basics, like new mascara and so on, which might not be that exciting.

Anyway, here goes...

Some Autumn shopping

Photobucket

Knit and leather gloves - Mango

A high-waisted miniskirt with suspenders - Seppälä

4 bottles from China Glace On Safari collection - Amazon.com

Photobucket

Booties with white faux fur trimming - Nelly.com

Photobucket

Jeffrey Campbell look-a-likes - Boohoo.com

So, what do you think about my purchases?

Now, when the school started a couple of weeks ago, it was still very warm - a perfect weather miniskirts! I don't believe in "jeans only" policy before the temperatures get below 5 degrees (Celsius, that is), so you'll probably see a bunch of short skirts and other not-so-warm ensembles in the next few weeks. And to start off, here's the first of my school outfits for this new school year:

My serious modeling face. Not quite ANTM stuff, huh?

High-waist skirt: thrifted
Striped tee: H&M
Black boots: KooKenkä
Pink blazer: H&M
Layered necklace: Gina Tricot
Bracelet: Pieces/Only
Bird ring: SpiritStore

For me, this was the perfect outfit to start this school year. I was kind of mixing businesswoman and schoolgirl, maybe trying to get that Gossip Girl vibe there as well. I loved this outfit, and I'm already thinking how to wear this when the weather gets colder. That pink blazer was such an amazing find, I will try an wear it with many, many outfits. ;) (Thanks Anna for making me realize what a must-have these bold blazers are!)

What are your thoughts about this outfit? Is it nice for school? ♥

I noticed that in the previous post, I didn't have any nail photos... That was weird, huh? But not to worry, here's a manicure to continue my 31-day manicure challenge. As the blog comes a bit behind of what I do in real life, I can say that I'm kind of sad that the challenge is nearly over. I'm already on the challenge 29, and there's only two more to go. (Can't wait to post the rest of the challenge manicures, there are amazing ones to come, if you don't mind me saying so myself!)

31-day manicure challenge

#17 Glitter nails

This was absolutely one of my favorite "themes" of the challenge, at least when I was checking out the list before starting the challenge. The ones who really know me know that I can't resist a nice glitter, so this challenge was totally me.

I could've done this in million different ways, but I just decided to go overboard with the glitter, and this is what it looked like:

What do you think about this glitter mani? ♥

I'm heading now to enjoy my weekend (armed with the camera and phone) and I hope I can get few fun pictures to show you later! I'll be back Sunday with some DIY fun and another outfit post. Stay tuned with my Instagram account (@silvertigo) for some live action. :)

Have a fabulous weekend, everyone! ♥
