#31DC2015 Watermarble & Inspired By Color

Hello lovelies! How is your week going? ♥ Last night I was super inspired to sew a little (I blame it on Milla from Lack of Colour, since this started after she posted a DIY bralette tutorial on her blog. Thank you for inspiring me to use all the fabrics I've hoarded in boxes around the house!), but I managed to nearly write this one ready for posting. It's now my coffee break at work, so I'm putting some finishing touches to this one.

So today, I want to share another part of 31-day nail challenge from last year with you.

#31DC2015 - Red & Orange

Hey lovelies!

How are you all? ♥

I've been cleaning the home and baking and studying the whole day, so I haven't been too active online today. But I simply had to come share this nail art post before getting into Halloween stuff tomorrow. You ready to see the nail art?

Let's go.

With this post, we're starting to go through my 31-day nail art challenge of the year. And as usual, it starts with red. I went with something easy, like red reverse half moons and leo print. I loved this quite a bit.

The detailed studs bring such a cool vibe to a manicure. You can get yours from Born Pretty Store, if you like them.

The polishes I used were China Glaze Seas The Day, Ruby Pumps, Liquid Leather, What's She Dune and Golden Enchantment. And like mentioned, the studs are from Born Pretty Store.

The second theme was orange. I had no idea what to do with it but after some thinking I decided to practice my water marble and use it here. And it actually came out okay.

The pattern on the thumb didn't come up too nicely, but I kept it anyway to remind me to practice more in the future.

The polishes I used were China Glaze Home Sweet House Music, Stoked To Be Soaked, Daisy Know My Name, Sun Upon My Skin and Golden Enchantment. The studs are from Born Pretty Store.

Overall, I liked these two designs and it's fun to be doing the 31-day challenge again. I'm around halfway now (you can see the latest on my Instagram) and will post all the designs here as fast as I can with the other posts around as well. As much as I would like to do this in 31 days, that's not really possible with my schedule as I also want to do somewhat inspired designs with neat outcome, so I don't want to create something I just wipe off the next day (unless it cracks, because then it's fair game to me).

What do you think about these nails? And, have you ever done this challenge? Let me know in the comments!

Now, I'm heading to bed, but tomorrow, because it's Friday, I will be posting my first Halloween post of the year. It will be up quite late (think about 10 to 12 at night) but I promise to post the first look. I will create new ones within the next week, so stay tuned on Instagram for sneak peeks. I'll see you all tomorrow!

Have a lovely day ♥

Rainbow vs. Skittle

Hello lovelies!

How are you today? ♥

I've been pretty overwhelmed with life these past couple of days (for no reason in particular) and that's why blogging has been nonexistent. On Monday, we went to Linkin Park gig which was the perfect way to say goodbye to summer and welcome autumn at the same time. Starting the school again was kind of okay as well, since I don't have to go there on that many days, but I can do most work at home for now. Which is great because I can then do my school stuff when it's convenient for my work. So even if it might be a bit hectic, I'm feeling so good about the autumn now.

Today, I'm sharing two new nail art designs with you. These two are very different from one another, but I personally like them both quite a bit.

DSC09278 (Large)

First set is this watermarble thing I tried to do with most of the polishes from China Glaze Electric Nights collection. I love the neons so much I figured even a bad water marble would feel nice with them. But it turned out that as they are runny enough, the watermarble was possible to accomplish.

DSC09294 (Large)DSC09287 (Large)

Taken that I haven't done one of these in months (or has it been a year?) this went quite well. I've never really mastered the technique, soanything even resembling a half successful marble is a big deal to me.

DSC09298 (Large)

Like mentioned, I used most of this year's neons from China Glaze, as well as White On White as base and Fairy Dust as topper. I also took Kiss Nail Art Pen in silver to fix the worst mistakes with random patterns. Not the coolest solution, but not the worst.

DSC09282 (Large)DSC09308 (Large)

This one was inspired by a picture I saw on the Internet a while back, and this was done there in many different colors. (at least in pink, green and blue) It's not exactly like the one I saw, but this is very strongly inspired by it anyway.

DSC09325 (Large)

I actually liked this one more than I thought I would, but something about combining this many elements in harmony kinda hits home for me. So thank you to the person who had created something like this first. I will probably use this idea more in the future.

DSC09318 (Large)

The polishes I used were China Glaze Boho Blues, Let's Dew It, White On White and Liquid Leather. The chevron was painted with the help of striping tape and the studs and rhinestones are from Born Pretty Store.

DSC09331 (Large)

I personally like both these designs quite a bit - the blue may be more stylish but the water marble was way bigger accomplishment, so I don't even know which one I like more.

But maybe you do, so let me know which one's your favorite, in the comments below!

That's all I have for you today, tomorrow I will post another outfit post if everything goes as planned, and I also have a couple more to go this week. I'm feeling a bit under the weather as it is, but hopefully that will pass with enough fluids and vitamins. I really can't be too sick at the moment, there's no time for that! ;) But I'll see you soon and you can follow me on social media for more recent updates!

Have a fabulous day ♥

Marble vs. Saran Wrap ♥

Hello lovelies!

How was your weekend? ♥

I've spent mine relaxing and having a nice time home. The week had me so exhausted that I simply needed to take the weekend off and pretty much sleep it out. Sounds more extreme than it is, so don't be alarmed. I just needed the weekend badly. I'm still super hyped about school things, and it actually seems that everything is working out quite nicely even though few days ago I was sure things would collapse hard. I will have a super busy spring. so if I sometimes go off radar, I'm just working for school. But I will always come back for you. Or, for me, as I do love the blogging as a way to vent my thoughts - because I can think the lovely positive things in life when I write here.

Like today, when I have a couple of nail art designs to show you. Here I am trying two techniques that are both fairly new to me.

DSC04451 (Large)

First up is a blue water marble - first water marble in a super long time actually. I was a bit scared to try that out as last ones had been such a fail, but I found great tips for doing it so I decided to give it a try. And it went okay. I still need to practice a lot to master the water marble, but now I have an idea what to do.

DSC04462 (Large)DSC04456 (Large)

The polishes I used for the mani were by China Glaze: White On White (the base under the marbling), One Track Mind, Capacity To See Beyond and Five Rules. The rhinestones are from Born Pretty Store.

DSC04452 (Large)

I really quite liked wearing the marble after such a long time, and I am confident I will be trying this again pretty soon. And then, I try not to dent the nails like I did here. I'll report back once I have the time to try this.

DSC04458 (Large)DSC04533 (Large)

The other new thing I was trying this month was the saran wrap technique. For those who don't know, it's the technique where you use plastic wrap to create texture on your nails. It's very easy, and actually looks quite cool.

DSC04549 (Large)DSC04547 (Large)

The polishes I used for these, were by China Glaze: Feel The Breeze, Escaping Reality and Float On. The black rhinestones are from Born Pretty Store.

DSC04538 (Large)

I really loved the texture this technique gives, so I'm sure this is also something I will be doing more this spring. I think this would look amazing with green shades, so I think I will try that once I'm done with Valentine's Day nails next month.

So what do you guys think about these designs? Have you tried these techniques? Let me know in the comments below!

Now, I'm going to do my nails and catch up with my favorite series. And maybe read the latest Cosmopolitan (Finland) where I was lucky to be featured in with one photo. Thank you guys, that rocks! With that in mind, I will be able to pull through this week and then it's already February. So cool. I really can't wait for it to be spring already, I have so many outfit ideas for warmer weather.

Have a great start for the new week ♥

Manicure Challenge Continues

Heya lovelies,

I hope you're all doing well today. What are you up to? ♥

So, today I'm sharing some manicures from the 31-day manicure challenge. The ones who have been reading for a long time know that these bits used to be on the bottom of outfit posts. Well, not anymore.

After considering it carefully, and reading posts from super talented bloggers, I thought this is the best way to put up my nail art. (And this way, it lets you choose whether you want to see nail art or my outfits at all.) Even though I love writing and reading long blog posts, I think it's fun to have shorter ones in between. I realize this might affect people reading my blog, changing my posting rhythm like this, but I hope the change is a positive one.

And speaking of readers...

I'm totally amazed with the fact there really are 200+ people having this blog in their reading list. And that's only the ones I can see through blogger. There's also A LOT of you reading anonymously, and I also want to thank you. It's amazing to see the pageviews roll!

So big thanks to all of you for the support with my blog, you are my motivation!

Okay, so today it's purely about nails. Let's get that rolling, shall we?

31-day challenge

#19, Galaxies

Yet another manicure I had only admired from pictures, but never tried out myself. I found a great tutorial for these in my blogger friend Ulrika's blog, Pug-a-licious. You should check her out, she's one of the lovelies personalities I've met through blogging! ♥

With her instructions, I quickly learned how to do this myself, and I think the result is quite nice. :)

#20, Water Marbled

First time with this one as well, and while I love the colors, I'm not so happy with the pattern here. I guess I just need little practicing with this technique... I put pictures of both hands, because this is one of those rare manis that might look better on your strong hand as well (in my case, it's the right one).

#21, Inspired by a color

Probably not too hard to guess my choice of color was pink... And that I added leopard print and glitter... :D Yep, kind of an obvious choice, but since I got to do pretty much anything, this is what you get.

Now, if you wish, I could do a tutorial for any of these (or any previous manicures, for that matter.) if you think you want to see that. Just let me know in the comments. ;)

What do you think about these manicures? Which one is your favorite? ♥

That's all for today, I hope you liked this post. Please leave any thoughts, comments and suggestions on the comment box below, to help me grow into a better blogger. Thanks!
