Jeffree Star Blue Blood Palette First Impression

Today I'm happy to share what might be the most exciting makeup release to me this spring. The Blue Blood Palette by Jeffree Star. Since the palette is only a week old, I can't give you a full review, but I can share what are my first thoughts and impressions about it.

So without further ado, let's get into it.

Thrifting the Trends - Colorful suits

Today it's time to continue the Thrifting the Trends series. If you're new here, this is the series where I take trends of this spring/summer predicted in the posts here and here and incorporating them into my style by thrifting, DIYing or using things I already have in my closet. The goal of this series is to show you don't always need to buy new things to be on trend and wear what's hot right now.

And, as I always say, it's better to think style over fashion. You can have an amazing style without following trends and fashion, but trends and fashion never promise to make you look stylish. That being said, I have fun emulating the trends into my looks although that's probably not what I will do too much unless rock chic and/or metal style comes in fashion.

Feather & Leopard

Hello lovelies! How are you today? ♥ It's a first morning here in Montreal, which is very exciting, and we have the whole day for exploring places and enjoying the place. I will be posting snapshots here are there about our day - whenever I get the Wi-Fi etc. for my phone. It's kind of relaxing not to have the chance to stare at social media all the time, I do miss it, but then again there's so much to see and do that it's awesome not to miss anything because of a phone. I'm hoping to get lots of shooting (photos and video) done today, but let's see where the day takes us.

Today, I wanted to share two new nail designs with you.

Blue Dress

Hello lovelies! How are you? ♥ I hope your week has started well, and that you'll have a very nice one too. I'm currently in Helsinki, and we're just heading to see our friend for a coffee/snack. Tomorrow morning (Finland time), we'll be boarding a plane to Frankfurt and from there to Canada, and I'm getting more excited every minute.

Today, I really want to share another office look with you. I loved wearing this, and will probably rock this again some day - maybe with bit different accessories.

Blue Hues

Hey lovelies! How are you? ♥ I've been tweaking my laptop today to make it run as smooth as possible, and I think I actually managed to make it powerful. At least, I hope so. Today's post is a quick one with an outfit I wore when my parents were visiting Tampere. We were sending time around the Hotel Tammer, and we decided to take advantage of a different background for outfit photos. (Thanks mom for the pictures!)

My Nail Stash: Blues

Hello lovelies! How are you today? ♥ I've been spending the day fighting flu and gathering vitamins to my body. It feels like my body is getting better, but I'm positive I need to avoid exercise the whole week (lame). I have quite a bit of things planned for this week, including taking the first outfit pics this year - I still haven't, we had other things going on last weekend. But now that the weather seems to be getting more decent, I know I'll be getting pretty snow shots soon.

In the meantime, I hope you'll like these beauty and food related posts instead. Today, I'm showing you more of my nail polish stash. See my blue polishes below:

#31DC2015 Blue & Violet

So today we're talking about nails again. I hope you don't mind. There's many of manis to go on the 31-day challenge, so we better get going with it. And today, I'm sharing the blue and the violet sets of the #31DC2015. What's fun about this challenge is that it makes me think of the nail art a bit differently, as well as doing different colors, patterns etc than I maybe normally would. Which is great because it makes the creativity flow better even after the challenge.

But anyway, are you ready to see the nails? Let's do it:

DSC00353 (Large)

So the first set, like mentioned, is the blue one. I went for a simple leopard print design with some glitter on the accent nail. This is pretty classic for me (which clashes with the previously mentioned "I think nail art differently with the challenge") but since the colors are not so me, I guess this is something new to see. The problem I have with blue polishes is that they can stain worse than blacks and other deep dark shades. But this was quite lovely.

DSC00380 (Large)DSC00366 (Large)

I personally think that the glitter here is quite cute. I don't have many blue glitters (even though I hoard glitter polishes way too much), but this one is so pretty. The photo isn't doing justice to it though, I think it looks even better in real life.

DSC00375 (Large)

The polishes I used for this design were all by China Glaze: One Track Mind as a base, Boho Blues and Liquid Leather for the animal print and Let's Dew It for the glitter accents. Boho Blues and Let's Dew It are a tad more lilac in reality than how they show in the pictures, but they still look very lovely here.

DSC00363 (Large)DSC00448 (Large)

The second one today is a violet glitter gradient with a gradient base. So a lot of gradient action going on. This probably would've been very nice even without the giltter, but I felt like having sparkle on my nails so I did that too.

DSC00461 (Large)DSC00460 (Large)

For a person that doesn't love violet/purple too much, I really own plenty of polishes in that color. Weird. I guess I kinda love it on my nails though. Here I used four shades of violet and the purple glitter topper. And there are quite many more of those colors, as you will see later when I introduce my nail stash more.

DSC00468 (Large)

The polishes I used were all by China Glaze here as well: Sweet Hook, Spontaneous, Grape Pop, Crimson, Fairy Dust and Be Merry, Be Bright. And I think these nails were quite fun to wear, as the idea was pretty simple, but they look a bit more complicated. Gradients, I think, are a good way to start learning nail art. They are pretty fun and easy to do, and they will look like more effort than they actually are.

DSC00451 (Large)

So what do you all think about these designs? Let me know in the comments! And if you have done/are doing #31DC2015 challenge at the moment, let me know that as well. I'd like to see yours too!

Now, time for me to say bye with this scheduled little piece, but I will see you very soon with another post. I have many fun things coming up, collaborations and such, so I hope you will enjoy the things I have planned for you. Can't tell you all of them yet, but one should be revealed at the start of next month, so stay tuned. And in the meantime, you can follow me on social media (and say hi, I love connecting with my readers there!) for more frequent updates.

Have a lovely day ♥

Blue vs. Ikat

Hey lovelies!

How are you today? ♥

I've been once again working with my blogging space, and this time I actually got it the way I want it to be - pictures will follow a bit later. Today, I simply wanted to share some nail pictures with you, so let's get going with them, okay?

DSC09453 (Large)

This may look familiar to you from my other posts, and it was indeed inspired by a mani I did earlier, but it's different. This was done with bit darker and more "blue" shades of blue. If that makes any sense. Probably not.

DSC09476 (Large)DSC09464 (Large)

I'm not usually too much into blue nails, but lately I've been loving them quite a bit. I don't know why - maybe it's the Autumn?

DSC09461 (Large)

The polishes I used were all by China Glaze: Feeling Twinkly, Licence & Registration Pls, White On White and Liquid Leather. The studs are from Born Pretty Store  and for the chevron I used some nail vinyls I bought from Etsy.

DSC09472 (Large)DSC09485 (Large)

Next up is this Ikat print I had to do once I got Boho Blues in my hands. I just had a vision of how it would look, and it kinda came out well. Granted, I still have a lot to learn for these prints, but this wasn't bad at all.

DSC09501 (Large)DSC09503 (Large)

I absolutely loved the colors and I think they are perfect transition shades for the early Autumn. I think this lilac vibed blue is actually one of my favorite shades now. This coming from a person that really doesn't love the blues too much.

DSC09490 (Large)

The shades I used were again by China Glaze (see a pattern here?): as mentioned, the base is Boho Blues, then there's Liquid Leather, White On White and Trip Of A Lime Time. I used thin nail art brush as my tool for the pattern.

DSC09494 (Large)

That's really all for today, I'm sorry the posts are quite compact (text-wise), but the long days take their toll, so  don't have the time to type everything I want. Maybe I will try to do more chatty posts on weekends, if you'd like.

But anyway, what do you think about these designs? Let me know in the comments below!

Now, I need to rush - I will answer your comments as soon as I can. Thank you for your love and support, I will try to give as much back as I can. If you want to hear more from me, follow me on social media for more frequent updates. There's a nail art challenge going on in my Instagram at the moment, and I'm always looking for other photo challenges to keep good stuff coming for you. See you soon here too!

Have a fabulous day ♥

Rainbow vs. Skittle

Hello lovelies!

How are you today? ♥

I've been pretty overwhelmed with life these past couple of days (for no reason in particular) and that's why blogging has been nonexistent. On Monday, we went to Linkin Park gig which was the perfect way to say goodbye to summer and welcome autumn at the same time. Starting the school again was kind of okay as well, since I don't have to go there on that many days, but I can do most work at home for now. Which is great because I can then do my school stuff when it's convenient for my work. So even if it might be a bit hectic, I'm feeling so good about the autumn now.

Today, I'm sharing two new nail art designs with you. These two are very different from one another, but I personally like them both quite a bit.

DSC09278 (Large)

First set is this watermarble thing I tried to do with most of the polishes from China Glaze Electric Nights collection. I love the neons so much I figured even a bad water marble would feel nice with them. But it turned out that as they are runny enough, the watermarble was possible to accomplish.

DSC09294 (Large)DSC09287 (Large)

Taken that I haven't done one of these in months (or has it been a year?) this went quite well. I've never really mastered the technique, soanything even resembling a half successful marble is a big deal to me.

DSC09298 (Large)

Like mentioned, I used most of this year's neons from China Glaze, as well as White On White as base and Fairy Dust as topper. I also took Kiss Nail Art Pen in silver to fix the worst mistakes with random patterns. Not the coolest solution, but not the worst.

DSC09282 (Large)DSC09308 (Large)

This one was inspired by a picture I saw on the Internet a while back, and this was done there in many different colors. (at least in pink, green and blue) It's not exactly like the one I saw, but this is very strongly inspired by it anyway.

DSC09325 (Large)

I actually liked this one more than I thought I would, but something about combining this many elements in harmony kinda hits home for me. So thank you to the person who had created something like this first. I will probably use this idea more in the future.

DSC09318 (Large)

The polishes I used were China Glaze Boho Blues, Let's Dew It, White On White and Liquid Leather. The chevron was painted with the help of striping tape and the studs and rhinestones are from Born Pretty Store.

DSC09331 (Large)

I personally like both these designs quite a bit - the blue may be more stylish but the water marble was way bigger accomplishment, so I don't even know which one I like more.

But maybe you do, so let me know which one's your favorite, in the comments below!

That's all I have for you today, tomorrow I will post another outfit post if everything goes as planned, and I also have a couple more to go this week. I'm feeling a bit under the weather as it is, but hopefully that will pass with enough fluids and vitamins. I really can't be too sick at the moment, there's no time for that! ;) But I'll see you soon and you can follow me on social media for more recent updates!

Have a fabulous day ♥

Bright Blue Jeans

Hello lovelies!

How are you today? ♥

I'm so excited because we're traveling again this weekend, and I get to have a fun weekend with the boys playing Beerlympics (meaning beer olympics, which is a concept where we play bunch of games - any games - and compete for a prize). I've never won any of these so far, and I'm feeling this time will be no different. But it will be a lot of fun and I've even made a little mix of music for us to listen to while driving there.

Now, I just need to pack today, which is the most stressful part. I have no idea what to wear and I don't trust the weather report at all. Oh well. I guess I'll figure out something.

Anyway, today I wanted to share this simple little outfit I wore to work the other day:

DSC08872 (Large)DSC08902 (Large)DSC08870 (Large)DSC08868 (Large)DSC08898 (Large)DSC08883 (Large)DSC08907 (Large)DSC08884 (Large)

Jeans: Cubus Shirt: Cubus Jacket: H&M Shoes: PUMA Necklace: Gina Tricot Bracelets: KappAhl, H&M Rings: Gina Tricot, H&M, JC Belt: Gina Tricot

Pretty simple look, and I was feeling like trying something different so I wore my bright blue jeans and build the look around them. I kinda feel like I should also get a bright pink or green pair. I don't know why. I guess they'd be fun to wear with simple neutral tops. I made the look little more laid back with the sport shoes. I don't know if I have remembered to mention in a long while, but I absolutely love sneakers and I think they're the best kind of shoes there is. I'm so, so happy they seem to be trending, too - although I would wear them nevertheless.

What do you guys think about this look? Let me know in the comments below!

That's all I have for you right now, and tomorrow, we'll see in another post. I'm hoping that I would get a couple of posts scheduled for you for the weekend, but we'll see about that.

And as we're talking about posting, I will be bringing back the Nail Art 101, which I started a long time ago with one post, and failed to deliver after that. However, now that I always get so many nail questions from my friends in real life, I figured I should share my knowledge here as well. You can send me suggestions on topics to cover in the series, and I will try to make something out of them. I know I'm not a nail guru, but I play with them so much I know a thing or two.

Over the weekend, I try to get some bits and pieces of the trip covered in social media - mainly Snapchat (silvertigo there, come say hi!) - so if you want to check out what we're up to, follow me on Snapchat, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook for updates. (links on the sidebar)

Have a fabulous day dolls ♥

Marble vs. Saran Wrap ♥

Hello lovelies!

How was your weekend? ♥

I've spent mine relaxing and having a nice time home. The week had me so exhausted that I simply needed to take the weekend off and pretty much sleep it out. Sounds more extreme than it is, so don't be alarmed. I just needed the weekend badly. I'm still super hyped about school things, and it actually seems that everything is working out quite nicely even though few days ago I was sure things would collapse hard. I will have a super busy spring. so if I sometimes go off radar, I'm just working for school. But I will always come back for you. Or, for me, as I do love the blogging as a way to vent my thoughts - because I can think the lovely positive things in life when I write here.

Like today, when I have a couple of nail art designs to show you. Here I am trying two techniques that are both fairly new to me.

DSC04451 (Large)

First up is a blue water marble - first water marble in a super long time actually. I was a bit scared to try that out as last ones had been such a fail, but I found great tips for doing it so I decided to give it a try. And it went okay. I still need to practice a lot to master the water marble, but now I have an idea what to do.

DSC04462 (Large)DSC04456 (Large)

The polishes I used for the mani were by China Glaze: White On White (the base under the marbling), One Track Mind, Capacity To See Beyond and Five Rules. The rhinestones are from Born Pretty Store.

DSC04452 (Large)

I really quite liked wearing the marble after such a long time, and I am confident I will be trying this again pretty soon. And then, I try not to dent the nails like I did here. I'll report back once I have the time to try this.

DSC04458 (Large)DSC04533 (Large)

The other new thing I was trying this month was the saran wrap technique. For those who don't know, it's the technique where you use plastic wrap to create texture on your nails. It's very easy, and actually looks quite cool.

DSC04549 (Large)DSC04547 (Large)

The polishes I used for these, were by China Glaze: Feel The Breeze, Escaping Reality and Float On. The black rhinestones are from Born Pretty Store.

DSC04538 (Large)

I really loved the texture this technique gives, so I'm sure this is also something I will be doing more this spring. I think this would look amazing with green shades, so I think I will try that once I'm done with Valentine's Day nails next month.

DSC04543 (Large)

So what do you guys think about these designs? Have you tried these techniques? Let me know in the comments below!

Now, I'm going to do my nails and catch up with my favorite series. And maybe read the latest Cosmopolitan (Finland) where I was lucky to be featured in with one photo. Thank you guys, that rocks! With that in mind, I will be able to pull through this week and then it's already February. So cool. I really can't wait for it to be spring already, I have so many outfit ideas for warmer weather.

Have a great start for the new week ♥

Let's be friends in IG!
