Nails For The Trip (and how I make them last for a week!)

As you know, last week I was on a trip. For that trip, I created a set of galaxy nails to fit me and my bestie's Cosmic Twinsies theme, because anything galaxy just fit us so well. Long story short, we feel this true cosmic connection and therefore refer ourselves as cosmic twinsies. We also are very, very similar in many ways, hence the twinsie part. In this post, I'm not only sharing what products to use for a mani like this, but also how to make it last as long as possible. As I'm typing this, the nails have been on over a week, and apart from one split tip, they're basically like new still.

#31DC2015 Inspired by Tutorial and Honoring Nails I Love

Hey lovelies! How are you today? ♥ I've been typing an essay most of the day, and now I'm super relieved it's over and done with. Others out there having a crazy spring going on? If so, I feel you. Now, I'm so happy to be typing something casual and fun, like this post right here. It's so relaxing after today. But anyways, to the post:

#31DC2015 Half Moons & Galaxy

Hello lovelies! How are you? ♥ This blogging month has been extremely slow because I've had so many other things in life. I have a ton of things I would love to write about, but finding the time can be a bit challenging at times right now. Tomorrow (Friday) I will start another fun weekend with the guys, but I will schedule you something to read while I'm offline. In today's post, I will continue the 31-day challenge from last year, because I still haven't posted all the manis here in the blog.

So let's get started, shall we?

Pink Galaxy vs. Cute Animals

Hello lovelies!

How are you doing today? ♥

I finally had a day to chill out, breathe deep and take time off from everything. Also, some wedding planning has taken place. I'm so excited to see our tiny party coming together, and next month I get to do the last preparations. It seems pretty overwhelming that in couple of months I will actually be a married lady. That's crazy.

But anyway, today I wanted to share these nail art designs with you.

DSC05886 (Large)

First is this pink galaxy thing that I created a while back (before Easter) and absolutely loved wearing. If you have been reading my blog for a while now, you probably know that I love galaxy prints a lot. And when it's pink, it's even better.

DSC05891 (Large)DSC05898 (Large)

I added lots of glitter to make the mani extra fabulous, and I think that worked quite well. Also, looking these pictures make me wanna paint galaxy mani on my nails again.

DSC05907 (Large)

Polishes I used were White On White, Escaping Reality, Seas The Day, Float On, Feel The Breeze, Sweet Hook and Fairy Dust by China Glaze, Glitter Bomb Disco Diva by Rimmel and Madeleine by Make Up Store. For the decorating I used thin nail art brush, dotting tool and small pieces of makeup sponges.

DSC05917 (Large)DSC05925 (Large)

The other mani is actually my this year's Easter mani, which you probably have already seen on my Facebook and Instagram, but let's post it here as well in case you lot would like some inspiration for next year. But of course, why not paint cute animals and such on other occasions as well, there's no rule against that.

DSC05942 (Large)DSC05933 (Large)

This was pretty unusual mani for me, as I actually painted some figures and such, instead of creating simple patterns and all. I think I did pretty well, but that's really up to you.

DSC05937 (Large)

The polishes I used were White On White, Sun Upon My Skin, Grass Is Lime Greener, I'm With The Lifeguard, In The Limelight, Float On by China Glaze, Green Couture by L'Oreal and pink, purple and light blue nail art pens by Kiss. Also, a glitter top coat Portland Dream from Viva La Diva collection by Alessandro.

So there you go, two different manis, both of which have their pros and cons. But now it's your turn to say:

What do you think about these manis? Let me know in the comments!

I'm going to hit the bed now, but I'll be back tomorrow evening with another little post. Stay tuned my darlings, and I'll talk to you soon.

Have a fabulous start for your week ♥

Pastel Galaxy vs. Leopard ♥

Hello everyone, and Happy Easter weekend for those who celebrate!

And of course, I hope you're having a fantastic weekend no matter what you celebrate - or don't. I'm currently packing and getting ready to leave for my parents' this weekend, but I thought I'd swing by and type you a post first. Today, I will show you a couple of nail designs!

DSC05163 (Large)

First up is this pair of galaxy nails, which is in sweet pastel shades. I absolutely love doing galaxy manis - especially in the spring - and these are usually nails I get most compliments on. So they are kind of a personal favorite as far as manicure styles go, at least at the very moment.

DSC05183 (Large)DSC05175 (Large)

For these nails, I used a bunch of China Glaze pastels. The shades were Sweet Hook, White On White, Spring In My Step, Sun Upon My Skin, At Vase Value, Highlight Of My Summer and Grass Is Lime Greener. The holographic polish is Madeleine from MakeUp Store and the glitter polish is Glitter Bomb Disco Diva by Rimmel.

This has definitely been one of my personal favorites to wear on my nails this spring, but we'll see if I can top this one any time soon.

The second one plays with colors as well, although it uses a bit brighter ones than the first one. Here I did some leopard print over quite randomly sponged base. Then a matte top coat to make it "perfect".

DSC05297 (Large)DSC05295 (Large)

The polishes used here were China Glaze Sweet Hook, Sun Of A Peach, Goldie But Goodie, CrimsonHighlight Of My Summer, White On White and Be More Pacific. The blue polish is Blue Balloon by GOSH. The studs I used are from Born Pretty Store (if you shop there, you can use the code JVNT10 to get 10% off your purchase).

These were inspired by something I saw on Instagram (the base, mainly), but I can't for the life of me remember who that was by. If I happen to run across it again, I'll make sure to link it for you.

What do you guys think about these designs? Let me know in the comments below!

Now, I'm off to pack my bags and so on, but I will be back soon with an outfit post. In the meantime, you can follow me on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook to keep up with the latest little things (links in sidebar). I wish you all a very happy weekend!

Have a lovely day ♥

Rainbow, Two ways ♥

Heya lovelies!

How are you all? ♥

We had a hilarious weekend with my boys, and I had so much fun I yet again left my laptop alone and lived my life instead. Though, I have quite a lot of things I want to post to you. Like today's nails.

Anyway, I'm going back to school tomorrow, so, a fair warning, I might not be able to post too, too often, because of the school work. But I do my best to keep the blog running. And also, if you have contacted me lately via the blog's email, I'll get back to you by Thursday.

Today, however, it's time to see some more nail art:

 photo DSC00292Large.jpg

The first one is a simple skittle mani with China Glaze pastels. I wanted to do something fun but easy, so I added some studs to make the mani more me.

 photo DSC00297Large.jpg photo DSC00300Large.jpg photo DSC00304Large.jpg

The colors used here are called Sweet Hook, Feel The Breeze, If In Doubt, Surf It Out, Sun Upon My Skin and Highlight Of My Summer. The studs are from Born Pretty Store.

 photo DSC00308Large.jpg photo DSC00861Large.jpg

The other one is another galaxy mani, this time using several colors instead ones from the same "family". I really liked this one, and think I will do a new galaxy one as soon as I figure out a nice color scheme for it.

 photo DSC00864Large.jpg photo DSC00873Large.jpg photo DSC00877Large.jpg

Unfortunately I can't figure out which colors I used for this (I promise, next time I do anything like this, I will write down what I use), but I can tell you they're all by China Glaze, and the glitter polish on top is called Fairy Dust.

 photo DSC00879Large.jpg

That's all I have for you today, now I will go knit for a while, and then early to bed so that I will be ready for school in the morning.

Let me know what you think about these nail arts in the comments below!

Have a fabulous day ♥

Stars vs. Galaxy ♥

Hello lovelies!

Are you guys having a great weekend? ♥

We're currently hanging out in a cabin with the boys, like you've probably seen on my Instagram already (you can find me there as @silvertigo). This post has been written for you guys beforehand, so can't really say much about what we've been doing today. Except I can promise you we've been cooking outside. That's for sure.

So today, I really wanted to share these nail art designs with you, in case some of you are home today - even if I'm so far away from my beloved laptop. (Addicted much? Nope.)

 photo DSC09043Large.jpg

So the first one I would like you to see is this kind of a weird color combo - which I really liked though - with stars and studs. I'm really so not sure what I was going for with these, but I guess I was kinda just trying out new color combos or something.

 photo DSC09048Large.jpg

The stars were painted with Nail Vinyls, you can find them on Storenvy if you're interested. I totally love the chevron ones you can get there! And, the studs are once again from Born Pretty Store.

 photo DSC09051Large.jpg photo DSC09054Large.jpg

The polishes I used were China Glaze Grass Is Lime Greener, I Herd That and Sun Of A Peach. The pink one is a nail art thingy by Kiss.

 photo DSC09062Large.jpg

 photo DSC09365Large.jpg

And the other mani is another version of the galaxy manicure. This time, in blue and mint. I really enjoy making this kind of manis so maybe I should try to make more of them later on.

 photo DSC09350Large.jpg
 photo DSC09340Large.jpg

I can't actually tell you which polishes I used, because I used a bunch, and it was a while ago. But the base  - the polish in the bottle I'm holding - is China Glaze Smoke And Ashes and the glitter on top is China Glaze Fairy Dust.

 photo DSC09337Large.jpg

If you wanna create your own galaxy nails, check out my old post for tutorial by clicking here! Please share your creations by either linking them in the comments, or tagging me on Instagram.

 photo DSC09345Large.jpg

So that's it for today, tomorrow, I'll be posting you a nice little outfit post instead. ;)

What do you all think about these nails? Let me know in the comments!

Hope you're having an amazing weekend, and talk to you soon.

Have a lovely day ♥

Galaxy vs. Snowflakes ♥

Hey lovelies!

How are you all? ♥

Technically speaking I should be already sleeping, but I couldn't resist sharing this post with you before. I wouldn't have time for this for tomorrow as I'll be pulling over 8 hours of work and I need to do some household things before that, so... You get the thrill, right?

Anyways, here are two manicures I did a while ago, the common thing with these two is that they both are kind of white/blue color. And they have glitter. Like most of my nail art.

 photo DSC05931Large.jpg

So first up, my dripping galaxy nail art. My first time ever trying out the dripping kind of design, so I'm pretty happy how it turned out.

 photo DSC05934Large.jpg

Couple of shots taken in my DIY light box (sorry if the light looks super weird!). I kinda captured the rainbow effect of the glitter, which is pretty cool. I never get the glitter properly on film, but this time I nearly did!

 photo DSC05936Large.jpg

 photo DSC05945Large.jpg

For this mani, I used bunch of different purples, couple of blue ones and a white polish, most of which were China Glaze but honestly I don't remember. (Note to self: I need to start writing down which ones I use for the designs.)

 photo DSC05954Large.jpg

 photo DSC05955Large.jpg

The other mani today is more wintery. I used whites and some blue and totally tried to make a snow-themed mani.

 photo DSC05957Large.jpg

This is actually probably my favorite winter mani so far (and I've done already few holiday themed ones this year), I simply cannot get over how cute this was.

 photo DSC05959Large.jpg

The polishes I used here were China Glaze White On White, China Glaze There's Snow One Like You, China Glaze Snow Globe, and Konad stamping polish in blue. So yes, the snow flakes are stamped on the nails.

 photo DSC05963Large.jpg

I absolutely love the textured snow-like polish. I understand how that might be a very controversial polish, as it totally looks like fake snow, and that's way too much for some. I personally love it a lot, and I promise you I'll be doing more manicures with this during the winter time.

 photo DSC05965Large.jpg

So that's all I have for you today, I hope you liked this post as much I liked creating these designs!

I would also like to know what do you think about these designs, please tell me your thoughts on the comments below! ♥

Now, once again it's time for me to get some much needed beauty sleep as tomorrow, I need all my energy to get through the super long day. I try to be back at blogging as soon as I can, and it'll probably be on Friday but we'll see about that.

Have a lovely day, everyone! ♥

Blog ya later,

xoxo
