Skull Dress ♥

Hi everyone!

How are you all today? ♥

We just booked tickets for a trip we're planning for this summer, but when and where, that's something I'll tell you later, when we have all the things figured out. ;) I don't have much to say about the weekend, I've just been relaxing and tidying up the place a bit. The casual thing. Now I'm concentrating in some DIY projects that have been laying in my bags and boxes, and I try to finish them off as I feel this month is perfect for completing things. Do you know what I mean?

Anyway, today I really wanted to come here and share an outfit I wore some days ago. This doesn't really look as good as it should, as we couldn't find the time to photograph it in the daylight, but let's pretend that's okay. Okay?

Yet another simple look with skulls and lots of black, but what can I say, that's what I like. That dress has been laying in my closet without any use for quite a while now, but finally I figured out what it looks nice with and actually dared to wear it. Hopefully this means I will actually wear this more during the spring and summer after finding the courage to put it on. :)

But what do you guys think about this look? ♥

Now I will go finish my latest nail design, and while the boys play PC games online, I will try and finish off a skirt that has been bothering me for a few days now. Hopefully that is also something I can show you already this month in outfit posts. I have also been planning a new little series and I hope I will have the time to start it off this week, but we shall see. And we have also recorded our very first vid during the weekend, but I've been struggling a lot with my video editor so I can't promise anything about uploading that, other than that I try to get it done very soon!

Have a fabulous day!

Blog ya later,

xoxo

Reindeer On My Nails ♥

Heya everyone!

How are you all today? ♥

I've been enjoying quite a lazy day before going to work, watching TV, starting my training season again, knitting and stuff like that. Totally cool, totally fun. I also got the new H&M catalog for SS14. So I'll be looking through that later tonight and seeing whether it has some nice ideas for updating my style for the spring. I actually have some ideas of my own already, but we shall see if they're anything close to the actual fashion trends.

Anyways, today is again a nail day here on the blog, I still have these nails from before Christmas that I didn't have the chance to show you earlier. But hey, better late than never, right? Both of these designs have reindeer on them, but that's as far as the similarities go, actually.

 photo DSC06360Large.jpg

First up, a red and white mani with snow, candy stripes, sweater print and a reindeer (which you will see a couple of pics below).

 photo DSC06364Large.jpg

The idea for doing these came to me while I was scrolling through Christmas nails on Google before holidays, and it seemed like a lot of fun as I had never done anything quite like this before.

 photo DSC06366Large.jpg

 photo DSC06368Large.jpg

Here you can actually see the reindeer. This was free-hand painting, so it's not perfect at all, but it was pretty cute, though.

 photo DSC06370Large.jpg

The polishes used here were China Glaze Roguish Red, China Glaze White On White and China Glaze There's Snow One Like You. All the painting is done with just nail art brushes and dotting tools, so no stamping was involved. I really, really liked these nails and I think these totally inspired me to do more holiday nail art later in life.

 photo DSC06373Large.jpg

 photo DSC06402Large.jpg

The other mani here is a bit more colorful and not so traditional. This was much inspired by Cutepolish from YouTube and Instagram, who's an amazing nail artist and who makes fantastic tutorials. You can find her YouTube channel here, if you fancy to see her amazing work.

 photo DSC06404Large.jpg

Here, like in the first design, you can spot a little reindeer hanging around. This one is pink, though. Because I thought it's cute.

 photo DSC06418Large.jpg

 photo DSC06422Large.jpg

The point here was to make a not so traditional holiday mani, and to try out new things and tips I had read about over the Internet. And I must say, these came out more nice than I expected. I'm not much of an enthusiast for Christmas manis usually, but this one was pretty fun.

 photo DSC06426Large.jpg

I used China Glaze White On White, China Glaze Escaping Reality, L'Oreal Color Riche Green Couture, Ciaté Mini Paint Pot Mojito and a bunch of different colored Kiss Nail Art Paints. I topped the whole thing off with China Glaze Fairy Dust to give the design that extra sparkle.

 photo DSC06427Large.jpg

So that's what I have for you guys today, I hope you enjoyed this post even half as much I enjoyed writing it. I need to go now and get some tea before heading to my work shift, but if all goes as planned, I will have another post for you tomorrow. ♥

What do you all think about these manis? And, what are you wearing on your nails today?

Also, I haven't actually remembered to give you all amazing people enough credit for supporting me, commenting and overall being amazing! Thank you for all the support you have given me for the blogging and thank you to all 100 of you amazing individuals that have followed this blog on Facebook, I can't believe there's already so many of you. DIY: Studded Shoes ♥

Hey everyone!

How are you all today? ♥

I was spending the weekend doing stuff offline, not being on the laptop that much, but today I realized is better to get back with blogging at last. I don't know about you guys, but I really hate the fact it's so dark outside every day. I have outfits to be photographed, but as there's good light for only 1-2 hours per day, it's hard to get pictures outside. And because of the lack of snow, the outside feels pretty uninspiring with all the grey and wet. Oh well, it'll probably get better soon. I hope.

Anyways, what I've been doing lately, is some reorganizing in my blogging/sewing space. Couple of days ago I went through my fabric boxes and made a sample book, so I would know which fabrics I have in there the time inspiration strikes. I also dug up all my pathetically undone projects, and decided to dedicate this month for finishing them one by one. The first one I'll be showing you today.

 photo DSC01580Large.jpg

As some of you might remember, I have two pairs of these kinda sorta Jeffrey Campbell clones of shoes. One pair is leather, one is suede. I don't really care that much for suede, as I'm clumsy and all, and I get it all messed up in use. But as the pair is so cute, I figured I should make them more "me" some way. And, as I love crafting things and I just don't do them enough as it is...

 photo DSC01581Large.jpg

...I took out these awesome studs, a piercing tool (a.k.a. a thin kitchen knife) and a screwdriver, and started putting some studs on the shoes.

 photo DSC01583Large-1.jpg

And on they go. If you decide to do this too, it might take a lot of patience, depending a lot how thick the material of your shoes is. Suede itself is reasonably easy to pierce, but the heel parts (as in the back of your foot part) was tough as it has this supporting, tough material there that helps the shoe keep its shape. I don't know if one should actually go and pierce that part or if it will eventually ruin the shoes, but I had to try, because otherwise I couldn't have made the kind of shoes I wanted.

 photo DSC06628Large.jpg

And here you have the finished shoes, not as amazing as real studded Litas would be, but a nice low budget option before I can actually afford a pair.

 photo DSC06630Large.jpg

So that's the first project I finished this year, these had been hanging on my table for months now (shameful, I do know) but finally they are done and I can clean them and put them in their box to wait for the spring days so I can finally use them again. ;)

I think I just might post more of these little craft projects this year, but before that I want you know:

Would you like to see more of these crafty posts? And, moreover, would you like to see the kind of craft posts that are also step-by-step instructions, so you can try the projects yourself? Let me know in the comments! ♥

Now, this girl needs to head to the kitchen and get cooking with our dinner so that I can go to work without being hungry, and so that I can have some time alone with my man before work. I'll be back as soon as possible, though!

Have a fabulous day, lovelies!

Blog ya later,

Sunday Wings ♥

Heya everyone!

How are you all today? ♥

Before starting off the real post today, I want to tell you about this awesome discount code I got from Born Pretty Store (see my haul from them in here) to share with my readers. When you buy from their website, use the code JVNT10 to get 10% off at the checkout. Not a bad deal at all, right? ;) (And if you need this later, you can see it on the banner I placed on the sidebar.)

Now, I know the title of this post sounds a bit misleading as it is still Saturday, but let me explain myself here. Last month, me and my fiance were out and about in the city, and decided to try out this place both had heard so much about, but neither had stepped into. That was a nice Sunday before Christmas, which should explain the title. (And yes, I do know I come a bit late with some of my posts, I do try to catch up this year. ;))

 photo DSC06247Large.jpg

The restaurant of choice is called Sticky Wingers, and it is located at the center of Tampere. They serve hot wings, burgers and other great stuff, and the place has such a nice sports bar vibe to it. I didn't take too many photos of the place itself as it was pretty packed that day, but I did take pics of the lobby. As I love almost any finger food you can name, my expectations were pretty high for the place.

 photo DSC06248Large.jpg

Couple of games in the lobby, promising...

 photo DSC06249Large.jpg

To start off, we ordered drinks. My choice was this mellow green tea, and my man chose to go with beer. They told us the food would take 45 minutes that time because of the traffic, so this was really a proper test whether the food is totally worth it.

 photo DSC06250Large.jpg

 photo DSC06251Large.jpg

We weren't in a big hunger, so we ordered together a plate of 18 boneless wings with salsa and medium sauce.

 photo DSC06253Large.jpg

And another pic, because one simply doesn't do it. The sauce of the wings were so good I actually ate even all the celery. And I don't eat celery, ever. :D

 photo DSC06255Large.jpg

And of course as we were trying out the new place, we decided to go with the desserts as well. My fiance found this fabulous chocolate cake - which tasted amazing - and I went with frozen yogurt.

 photo DSC06258Large.jpg

I mean, I meant to, but the one time I actually tried to take the healthy option (I guess), they didn't have it. So what's a girl to do? Simple, just take the most unhealthy, million calorie option and shove it in your mouth. That means, instead of my frozen yogurt, I ended up with the one thing I had said I would never ever eat. Deep fried chocolate bar with ice cream and chocolate sauce. I don't honestly even want to know the amount of calories in this.

But yes, it was pretty good.

The time we were having that dinner date, there was still a little snow on the ground. After that, not so much, but at least we got the little of it on film. On the outfit photos.

 photo DSC06290Large.jpg

Finally I got to bust out the wool coat! I wonder if it would also work with a belt... Thoughts?

And for the date, a simple little outfit with a cute skirt and lots of accessories. I do realize I could have worn more beautiful shoes, but I felt like wearing something comfy that day.

I tried to go for casually girly with this look, and I think I kinda succeeded in that. But the ones who can really judge that are you guys. ;)

So, what do you think about this look? ♥

Now, this girl needs to go and rearrange a bunch of stuff, but I will see you as soon as possible. ;)

Have a great weekend, everybody!
