Christmas Nail Art Video ♥

Hello lovelies!

How are you all? ♥

It's been crazy hectic even though I'm supposed to be on a break now, so sorry I haven't been posting as much. I hope things will settle down pretty soon - but forgive me if I spend my Christmas with family instead of laptop, I will be back more frequently after that. Today, however, I actually managed to scrap up a little nail art video for you. But first, let's see the nails for it.

 photo DSC03458Large.jpg

These cute Christmas designs were inspired by @just1nail on Instagram, I saw her nails somewhere in the web and decided to kinda recreate them. And, I figured that would be a nice way to learn some stuff about making a nail art video as well.

 photo DSC03463Large.jpg

I absolutely love the details in these, and would love to create something as complicated for the holidays, but due to schedule I will probably stick with decals and such to save time for other things.

 photo DSC03466Large.jpg photo DSC03456Large.jpg

These would have probably been great with any finish, but I felt like matte was the way to go.

 photo DSC03453Large.jpg

Polishes used here were Essie Licorice, China Glaze White On White and China Glaze Fast Track. The matte top coat is from Born Pretty Store.

 photo DSC03450Large.jpg

And now, on to the video, right? Please keep in mind it was my second video ever, and first nail art video, so I still have lot to learn - and I need to put some money into proper lighting system. but other than that, I'm okay with how it looks.

There you go, Christmas nails on a video. If you have any tutorials you would like to see, please let me know so I can try to make them happen next year. I'm so determined on learning to make some videos for the blog so ideas on what you guys would like to see would be pretty great.

Hope you liked this post at least a bit, I'm not sure when I will next have the time to write something, on Monday the latest, but hopefully sooner. Depends a lot on how our Christmas turns out.

But if I don't happen to talk to you tomorrow, I wanna wish you a very Merry Christmas - or whichever holiday you may be celebrating now! ♥

China Glaze Haul ♥

Hey you lovelies!

How are you all today? ♥

I just started my Christmas break, and even though my exams didn't go quite as well as I hoped, I'm still feeling pretty good about all the school stuff. On this break, I need to tackle one essay and one other little task, but otherwise it's all relaxation and good time. Love it.

DSC04122 (Large)

So, the other day, I received my latest order from Head2Toe Beauty - all China Glaze yet again. I ordered bits and pieces from four different collections, and one staple color I always need. Below, I will be telling you a bit more about them.

DSC04124 (Large)

The staple piece I got is White On White. It's the perfect white for my nail art needs, as it doesn't have any noticeable undertones in it. This I would recommend to anyone searching for the right white for their nail art collection.

DSC04130 (Large)

On to the new ones. I got three shades from the The Giver limited edition collection. I love how China Glaze has themed collections for movies and such, and even if I haven't seen the movies. Like in this case. Seeing this gorgeous baby blue, Capacity To See Beyond, I simply had to get it. I have a ton of mints and such blues, but none like this. I can't wait to create something fun with this one after Christmas.

DSC04128 (Large)

Next one from The Giver collection is Five Rules, which is a pretty light shade that kinda reminds me of clay. So I guess it's safe to call it a light sort of gray with a bit of light brown to it? I'm so bad at describing colors so that's as close as I get.

DSC04126 (Large)

This glittery treasure, Boundary Of Memory, is a beautiful mixture of fine glitters. The shades of the glitters are gold, copper and black (or maybe like charcoal, I don't know) and they're all in a beautiful harmony inside the bottle. I've painted my toe nails with this right now, and it looks stunning and has a great coverage.

DSC04135 (Large)

And here are the swatches of the three. I didn't bother swatching White On White, as it is just a basic white, so forgive me. Ot of these, I think I love the glittery one the most, but on spring I'm probably feeling the blue more. I can't stick with a favorite color ever.

DSC04136 (Large)

Next up the two pieces I got from this years Halloween collection, Apocalypse Of Color. First of those, this super shiny glitter bomb called Rest In Pieces. It contains bar glitter and different sizes of hex glitter in holo gold, copper and black. Such a gorgeous polish, and I think it's perfect for many holiday manis. I'm kinda thinking of wearing this on New Year's over some nice dark shade, but we'll see.

DSC04137 (Large)

The other one is Getting To Gnaw You, a dark base with different sized fine hex glitter in it. This dries up so beautifully and covers the nail well. I do love it so much.

DSC04139 (Large)

Swatches for the Halloween polishes. I'm so much in love with the shiny glitter bomb here, and I can't wait to really getting to do something with it.

DSC04141 (Large)

Then three goodies from the All Aboard collection, which I think was kind of inspired by trains and travelling. And of course, as the nerd I am, my inner Sheldon Cooper got way excited about it. There were many colors I could've picked, but I decided to just got few now and maybe some later if I still feel like I need them. The first one I got this time is Loco-Motive, which is yet another glitter mix, with fine gray/light purple glitter and bit bigger coppery hex glitter. I love the color combo here, it's very unique.

DSC04142 (Large)

This one, Choo-Choo Choose You, is a tricky shade to describe, as the base is kind of a mixture of blue and purple, but the shimmer is a bit holographic and can reflect colors from pink to green. The picture here (or the swatch) doesn't really tell too much about the color really, but I promise you, it's pretty fascinating - even if it's a bitch to photo.

DSC04144 (Large)

And the third one, which is a beautiful navy blue color called One Track Mind. This is a gorgeous shade that was totally missing from my collection. I have been craving for a perfect navy shade and I think I jst may have found it.

DSC04147 (Large)

Here you have the swatches, and I don't know about you, but for me the most gorgeous color is the navy blue.

DSC04150 (Large)

Then to the holiday collection picks. This year's holiday collection is called Twinkle and it consists of many stunning shades, of which I bought six. Yeah, I bought half a collection, and I'm thinking of getting some more later maybe. The first one I got is I'd Melt For You, which is a gorgeous opaque chrome color, and I'm totally sold for this beauty. It looks absolutely amazing on it's own, but I also really wanna use it on some fun nail art soon.

DSC04151 (Large)

Next is Dancing & Prancing, which is a beautiful multicolored glitter mix that is pretty much light pink, but it has a ton of other light colors there. I absolutely love how this looks!

DSC04154 (Large)

My possible favorite of the whole haul, De-Light, is a beautiful glitter mix containing different sized gold glitter and holo gold bar glitter in it. This is absolutely stunning shade, and it looks fantastic over many different colors, I bet. I'm picturing this over pretty dark shades so that the sparkles would show properly.

DSC04158 (Large)
'
Here are swatches, again I don't think they give enough justice to the actual colors, but this is pretty close.

DSC04159 (Large)

The troubled one from the collection is absolutely Chillin' With My Snow-Mies. It is a clear polish with different sized white hex glitter in it, and on nail, it pretty much resembles snow flakes and all. But what bothers me about this - and I've heard this from others too - is that when you do try to apply it, it's so hard to catch the glitters from all the clear base. It seems like there's a bit too much base and too little glitter, but otherwise I really, really love it. It looks great once you manage to get enough glitter out.

DSC04161 (Large)

Pine-Ing For Glitter is a perfect holiday glitter polish. It has a clear base and lots of fine glitter in a beautiful shade of tealish green. I absolutely adore this gem shade and I'm wearing it as I type. I'm thinking of making a weekend party mani with this in it. We'll see, though.

DSC04164 (Large)

Last, but certainly not least, is Meet Me Under The Stars. The name is pretty fitting, as this very much looks like a night sky with stars. It's very beautiful black polish with fine silver glitter in it. This is also something I would totally wear to parties later on.

20141215_115542 (Large)

And here you have the last swatches. I really think these all look amazing, and I'm so inspired to use them on my nails. Especially now that I have more time to do that.

What do you guys think about my haul? Let me know in the comments!

Now, I'm going to get a nice, long sleep, before waking up to my first break morning. I have a ton of fun things to do tomorrow, as we're going to attend to my cousin's graduation party on Saturday and things have to be ready before that. I'll talk to you again as soon as I can, though!

Have a fantastic weekend ♥

Leather Vest ♥

Hey you guys!

What's up today? ♥

I'm feeling so good and relaxed, even though I know it's gonna be a stressful week, since my dear man had gotten me a massage time for today. No more stiff shoulders for a while! Also, I got my latest nail polish order today, so I will be showing that to you later on this week. I'm so excited to get to try out all the shades on my nails. But more on that later.

So the weekend went by so, so fast, with all the hockey, drinks and video games - and most of all, fantastic company. It was nice to be reminded how amazing people I know, it made life feel even better than before. So thank you everyone who was part of my weekend, I love you guys! ♥

DSC03868 (Large)

Today, I'm showing some pictures of a school look a while back which I really wanted to picture outside but again there was no light whatsoever to do so. So just a couple of somewhat decent pics to give you an idea of this look. I'm really hoping to get more pics over the holidays as I'm sick of indoor pics and bad lighting.

DSC03863 (Large)DSC03859 (Large)

Vest: Gina Tricot
Cardigan: Gina Tricot
Top: H&M
Jeans: Gina Tricot
Necklace: Gina Tricot

A very simple layered look to wear to school. And a half updo I had been dying to try out for a while. I would love to wear the leather stuff more now, but it feels too cold to really rock them properly. Even though I think leather vest might work over the right knit.

What do you guys think about the look?

Now, I'm going to make a nice base for my new nail design, and then I'll go to bed so I will be up nice and quite early to do some school stuff. Luckily that can be done tomorrow in a cozy look at home with a tea cup. That's my kind of studying. I'll be talking to you again soon, if not tomorrow, then at least the day after. So until then!

Have a fantastic day ♥

Orange vs. Aztec ♥

Hello my darlings!

How are you today? ♥

The week is finally done, and it's one week, two exams, one project and a bunch of tasks between me and my winter break. And that feels pretty awesome. I'm also super excited for our projects class, where we will be doing quite cool things during the spring. I never though of myself as a project-loving person, but I guess I was wrong. Or maybe it depends on a project a lot.

Anyways, we're waiting for my cousin and her fiance to get here, so I'm taking the chance to blog now, as the house is looking decently clean and I have few minutes all to myself. So, today, I wanted to share these two nail designs with you all.

DSC03601 (Large)

First up, a set of orange leopard nails, for which the inspiration came from browsing the web and seeing some awesome designs. Nothing too unique, but this was fun to do.

DSC03606 (Large)DSC03610 (Large)

Colors I used for these are Essie Licorice, China Glaze Sun Of A Peach, China Glaze Gossip Over Gimlets, and Rimmel London Glitter Top Coat Disco Diva. The studs and rhinestones are all from Born Pretty Store.

DSC03579 (Large)

For this kind of nails, the only tool you need is a dotting tool, as it is very useful for the leopard print. Of course you can also paint with a brush, but I personally think it's too difficult and that's why I prefer dotting tool.

DSC03597 (Large)DSC03828 (Large)

The other mani is also colorful, but still totally different. Somehow I've been creating very summery manis lately, even though it's almost Christmas. I completely blame the lack of snow there, because normally I would be all about Christmas nails by now. I'll try to create at least a couple of those before Christmas though!

DSC03827 (Large)DSC03825 (Large)

With this mani I had a lot of fun just playing with colors, as I was trying to make something that would look cool on the glow bowling alley. Yes, I made nails just for that. Call me crazy if you want to.

DSC03821 (Large)

For these nails I used a whole rainbow, China Glaze White On White, China Glaze Stoaked To Be Soaked, BK UV Pink, Depend Neon Yellow, Gosh Blue Balloon and Alessandro Top Coat Viva La Diva. Top coat is my usual choice Essie Good To Go. The diamond stickers are from Born Pretty Store.

DSC03820 (Large)

So here are my two designs for today, I hope you enjoyed them and got at least a little bit inspired. If you decide to recreate either of these, please tag me on your posts or link them to me!

Let me know what you think about these nails in the comments below!

Now, I'm gonna go spend time with my people, but I'll talk to you again on Sunday! I hope you'll all have an amazing weekend, as we sure will.

Have a fantastic day ♥

Black Cardigan ♥

Hey lovelies!

How are you all today? ♥

I'm being quite busy for a week now before I get to enjoy my winter break. Although even on that break, I have to work on school reports. So, yay for me. Anyway, as I had a moment between reading for tomorrow's exam, I figured I should post this outfit from while back. I'm so sad there's hardly any daylight to take pictures in, because there's so many outfits I would love to share. Maybe on the weekend I can get a picture or two of what I'm going to wear. We're going to a hockey game with a group of friends, so I'm hoping to catch nice photos from that event.

But anyway, to today's look.

DSC03716 (Large)DSC03734 (Large)DSC03720 (Large)DSC03738 (Large)DSC03712 (Large)

Cardigan: Gina Tricot
Top: Gina Tricot
Skirt: New Yorker
Tights: Gina Tricot
Boots: SpiritStore
Belt: Mango
Necklace: a gift from friend

So this was a simple, girly look I put together for school a while ago. It was comfy but pretty, and I totally loved wearing it. That skirt is one of my absolute favorites and I would love to wear it with everything. Which actually wouldn't be that bad idea. And this was nice change since I don't do cardigan looks too often. The necklace was a surprise gift from one of my dearest friends, and I absolutely love it so much. Thank you H, it is perfect!

How do you guys like this look? Let me know in the comments below!

So now, Ill go and get some last minute reading done before getting some much needed sleep. Tomorrow, I will try to post a little something, but on Saturday I will have a day-long break from blogging as I have guests to entertain. But if you wanna stay tuned, I will post on Instagram and Twitter (also possibly Facebook) about the things we do!

Have a fantastic day, you all ♥

Makeup Revolution Haul ♥

Heya lovelies!

How are you all? ♥

I'm being super busy with school and everything (meaning I should be writing a report as we speak) so if I don't post too much, please don't hate me. I don't like writing in a rush, because then the quality takes so much damage. I'm sure you understand what I mean. Today, however, I have a haul with swatches for you. On Black Friday, I gave myself permission to spend a little money on beauty products, as I got £25 worth of products free when I spent that amount on the website. I had been dreaming about some of their products, so of course I used the chance. Here's what I got:

DSC03917 (Large)

Whole lot of stuff, I admit, but I'm more of a person that gets a lot at once, rather than buying one or two items at a time. If you like makeup, keep reading, but if not, wait for the next post. But let's get moving!

DSC03929 (Large)

Firstly, the one that broke in the mail. A freebie bronzing powder, Chocolate Shimmer. I fixed this one myself, as it was all shattered, and it still doesn't look too good, but it works nicely. I will be using this once I'm done with my current ones.

DSC03936 (Large)

Another freebie, a mascara. I actually love this one quite much even though I usually use the blackest I can get, and this is only black brown. This is called Amazing Curl Mascara. It looks pretty natural with one or two coats, but builds up nicely after that and you can create great lashes with this.

DSC03937 (Large)DSC03951 (Large)

Ultra Cover and Conceal Palette in lightest shade, as I am so freaking pale. I've wanted a product like this for a while, so when I had to get £6 worth more to my purchase to get the Black Friday gift, this was a sure choice. This felt nice on the skin, and it blends quite easily. Also, the shades go well with my skin tone, so I'm looking forward to using this more. Swatches below.

DSC03957 (Large)DSC03965 (Large)

And then the three things I actually went to buy. Iconic eye shadow palettes. First up, Iconic 1. For those who don't know, these are actually dupes for the Urban Decay Naked palettes. So if you are a student like me, and paying a lot for makeup (even for the high-end ones) isn't necessarily your thing, I suggest you try these out. Or if you are unsure about the Naked shades, order one of these to test them out. I've seen these and Naked palettes swatched next to each other, and you can't really tell them apart. Iconic 1 features wearable neutral shades for your eyes, and this set really compliments any color. You can be sure I will wear these quite a lot in the future. Swatches below.

DSC03968 (Large)DSC03971 (Large)

Next, Iconic 2. This is bit more shimmery than the first one, but full of colors that go together with the first palette. Again, I totally see myself wearing these shades a lot. Swatches below.

DSC03975 (Large)DSC03979 (Large)

Iconic 3, just like Naked 3, has more rosy colors than the other two. It's very romantic in my opinion, and I would definitely love making date looks with this palette. Swatches below.

DSC03980 (Large)DSC03987 (Large)

This was another gift, Mono Eyeshadow, shade Blow Your Whistle. Not necessarily something I would've bought myself, but it's a cool color and I will try to make a look with this one as well. The color payoff could be better here, but I think that could be fixed with a primer. Swatch below.

DSC03991 (Large)DSC03993 (Large)

Black Friday gift, I ♥ Makeup Go! palette. This is quite compact one with contour stuff (blush, bronzer, highlighter) and six eye shadows. Although I don't see the round palette as a great one to carry around with you, I need to say the shades are useful ones. I think you could make quite pretty looks with this palette very easily. Swatches below.

DSC03996 (Large)DSC03999 (Large)

A gift as well, I ♥ Makeup Go to Hell! palette. This is one with great shades for night time looks. I could see these used for sultry, smoky looks, although there are shades that could be used in everyday looks as well. I will be doing some looks with these, if not here, then at least on Instagram. Swatches below.

DSC04001 (Large)DSC04006 (Large)

And the last freebies, some lip glosses. It was fun to get these as they smell so nice, and one can always use a couple of glosses more in their storage. I hadn't tried out Makeup Revolution ones before this, so this was fun. Swatches below.

DSC04009 (Large)collage (Large)

I also swatched the lip products on my lips so you'd see kinda what they really look like. These are quick swatches in bad lighting (I'm a bad blogger, sorry guys!), but I was too excited to wait for a daylight time as I have such busy days on the weeks. But here are the three lighter shades (clear, nude, peach), and as you can see they don't differ much, nor do they look like much on the lips. The texture is pretty basic, and I think these are pretty nice.

collage1 (Large)

Red and pink, a.k.a. ones with more pigment. The red one is more transparent than I thought, but still a cute one. But the pink... Oh, the pink. It's bright, pigmented and amazing. I totally love it a lot, and I'm sure I will use it completely as I love the color so much.

DSC04039 (Large)

Atomic lipstick collection. I have seen these swatched and used in many beauty accounts, and I gotta say I was pretty excited to try them out. Especially the green one, because it seemed very cool.

DSC04045 (Large)

From left to right: Serpent, Ruby, Magnificent, Make It Right and Make Me Tonight. In here, you can already see the color payoff could be even better, but as they are super affordable and build up kinda good, I think they do their job nicely. These I also swatched on my lips.

collage2 (Large)

Magnificent - Make It Right

collage3 (Large)

Make Me Tonight - Ruby
Serpent

DSC04092 (Large)

And lastly, Vamp lipstick collection. I have been wanting this since it launched, but only now bought it. These dark shades are pretty cool for all kinds of (fall/winter) looks, but also for themed looks like costumes and such. I was most drawn to the red, but as they sold this 3 for the price of 2, I figured I should get the whole collection.

DSC04094 (Large)

Left to right: Black Heart, Rebel With Cause, 100% Vamp. (And apologies if I mixed up the dark ones, as I managed to switch their caps a couple of times during photographing and I'm still not sure which is which. They look more different in some people's swatches, but I didn't get that out of them.)

collage4 (Large)

Rebel With Cause - 100% Vamp
Black Heart

So that's it, my massive haul for this Black Friday, although half of these were gifts that anyone who spent £25 around that time got. Hopefully this was any helpful, and if you'd like me to review any of these more closely - or to make a look with them, just let me know in the comments!

Have you ever tried any of Makeup Revolution's products, and how did you like them?

Now, I'm gonna go and write up a two-page report so that I will actually pass a class. Next time, I will be posting a regular outfit post, so it's not all cosmetics and hauls. Do not worry. Talk to you soon, my darlings!

Have a fabulous day ♥
