Palm Trees & Unicorns

Hello lovelies! How are you today? ♥ We've already been a week in Montreal, which seems quite unreal to me. I hope you enjoyed yesterday's guest post by Elisa, it was so fun to do it with her since I feel like she's such a beautiful and fun person based on what I've seen on Instagram. It's so cool to have a bit different content out here and not only just me blabbering everything (although I really know how to blabber quite well, haha).

Today, I wanted to share couple of nail designs with you here:

#31DC2015 Rainbow & Gradient

Hello lovelies! How are you today? Having fun weekend? I'm just sorting out my closet, enjoying candles, some treats and hanging out with the boys (with a little help of Skype). But I really wanted to take a break from cleaning and talk to you all. And share some nails, because that's what I do. These are the next ones for the 31-day challenge, rainbow nails and gradient nails.

Ready for that? Let's go!

DSC00646 (Large)

So the first mani is the rainbow one. I loved how I could use so many colors in this one and decided to go with a rainbow gradient. With some glitter on top.

#31DC2015 Blue & Violet

So today we're talking about nails again. I hope you don't mind. There's many of manis to go on the 31-day challenge, so we better get going with it. And today, I'm sharing the blue and the violet sets of the #31DC2015. What's fun about this challenge is that it makes me think of the nail art a bit differently, as well as doing different colors, patterns etc than I maybe normally would. Which is great because it makes the creativity flow better even after the challenge.

But anyway, are you ready to see the nails? Let's do it:

DSC00353 (Large)

So the first set, like mentioned, is the blue one. I went for a simple leopard print design with some glitter on the accent nail. This is pretty classic for me (which clashes with the previously mentioned "I think nail art differently with the challenge") but since the colors are not so me, I guess this is something new to see. The problem I have with blue polishes is that they can stain worse than blacks and other deep dark shades. But this was quite lovely.

DSC00380 (Large)DSC00366 (Large)

I personally think that the glitter here is quite cute. I don't have many blue glitters (even though I hoard glitter polishes way too much), but this one is so pretty. The photo isn't doing justice to it though, I think it looks even better in real life.

DSC00375 (Large)

The polishes I used for this design were all by China Glaze: One Track Mind as a base, Boho Blues and Liquid Leather for the animal print and Let's Dew It for the glitter accents. Boho Blues and Let's Dew It are a tad more lilac in reality than how they show in the pictures, but they still look very lovely here.

DSC00363 (Large)DSC00448 (Large)

The second one today is a violet glitter gradient with a gradient base. So a lot of gradient action going on. This probably would've been very nice even without the giltter, but I felt like having sparkle on my nails so I did that too.

DSC00461 (Large)DSC00460 (Large)

For a person that doesn't love violet/purple too much, I really own plenty of polishes in that color. Weird. I guess I kinda love it on my nails though. Here I used four shades of violet and the purple glitter topper. And there are quite many more of those colors, as you will see later when I introduce my nail stash more.

DSC00468 (Large)

The polishes I used were all by China Glaze here as well: Sweet Hook, Spontaneous, Grape Pop, Crimson, Fairy Dust and Be Merry, Be Bright. And I think these nails were quite fun to wear, as the idea was pretty simple, but they look a bit more complicated. Gradients, I think, are a good way to start learning nail art. They are pretty fun and easy to do, and they will look like more effort than they actually are.

DSC00451 (Large)

So what do you all think about these designs? Let me know in the comments! And if you have done/are doing #31DC2015 challenge at the moment, let me know that as well. I'd like to see yours too!

Now, time for me to say bye with this scheduled little piece, but I will see you very soon with another post. I have many fun things coming up, collaborations and such, so I hope you will enjoy the things I have planned for you. Can't tell you all of them yet, but one should be revealed at the start of next month, so stay tuned. And in the meantime, you can follow me on social media (and say hi, I love connecting with my readers there!) for more frequent updates.

Have a lovely day ♥

USA vs. Gradient

Hello darlings!

How are you today? ♥

I had quite a break from blogging - and almost from the Internet altogether - for being at the cabin with boys. I didn't win our little beerlympics (although I was surprisingly good in couple of games), but it was a lot of fun nevertheless. Our car had a little incident on Sunday, and our front tire said bye bye. Luckily we still manage to get home safely, and the tire is now fixed.

Yesterday went by running errands for the start of thw week, and today, I'm hoping to get the aparment cleaned and my online life sorted out. My posting schedule has seemed like a mess to me lately, so I really want to step up my game and do better for the rest of the month. I have been planning to do kind of opinion posts, since there are somethings I want to talk about more than just the 140 characters per tweet. So I hope that sounds good to you too. On top of that, I've been planning a couple of tutorials that I just need to shoot first.

But today, it's time for nail art as usual. So let's get that show on the road!

DSC08351 (Large)

First are these nails I did for 4th of July. We don't of course celebrate it here in Finland, but seeing all the related stuff on Instagram, I really had to make these. I'm not 110% happy with these, but I think they came out okay.

DSC08366 (Large)

These were  also my nails for my bachelorette party, and since it was rock themed (in a way), these were totally appropriate for that too. I personally really like the dry brushing on the pinky.

DSC08357 (Large)DSC08353 (Large)

For this mani, I used China Glaze White On WhiteSeas The Day, One Track Mind and Essie Set In Stones. Nail vinyls were used for the stars and stripes, and the heart on pinky is hand-painted. The Statue of Liberty is from a Born Pretty Store stamping plate, and it was made into a decal by using China Glaze Liquid Leather. (I can make a tutorial for that technique the next time I use it!)

DSC08362 (Large)DSC08573 (Large)

The next mani is this cute gradient, to which I saw the idea on the Internet. I loved this color combo so I had to recreate it, though I put my own spin on it with the ring finger design.

DSC08557 (Large)

This was also one mani I absolutely loved to wear, because the colors made me think of unicorns or something as magical. And the giltter on top made it perfect.

DSC08562 (Large)DSC08549 (Large)

For the mani, I used China Glaze White On White under the gradient, Glow With The Flow, DJ Blue My Mind and UV Meant To Be for the gradient, Fairy Dust to top the gradient and Liquid Leather for the ring finger. The rhinestones for the ring finger are from Born Pretty Store.

If you'd be interested for a tutorial for gradient, I could try to make that happen soonish. Just let mee know you want to see it!

DSC08571 (Large)

That's all I have for you today, and I hope you've enjoyed this post.

What do you think about these designs? Let me know in the comments!

Time to go now, but I'll see you on a new post tomorrow. I think we will have an outfit post coming up, and hopefully other fun things late this week, so stay tuned. Also, remember to follow me on social media for more frequent updates and so on.

Have a fabulous day ♥

Skittle vs. Gradient Fail

Hello darlings!

How are you all today? ♥

I've been hanging out without a computer for over 24 hours, so now I was finally ready to sit down and type a post. I have been planning out posts for next week and also prepping my #julybeautychallenge pics for Instagram and so on, so I've still been busy with blog stuff even though I have been offline.

Today, I have another nail art post for you. I hope you enjoy the design, so let's check them out!

DSC07540 (Large)

First is this little skittle number I did with the China Glaze Electric Nights polishes I bought for the summer. I was inspired by the glitter polish I use as a prop in the pictures, it has such a lovely color combo in it.

DSC07554 (Large)DSC07543 (Large)

I mimicked the glitter polish with the base colors and the studs, and also used the glitter polish as a topper on the blue nails. I liked this design surprisingly lot, and it was super easy to do.

DSC07534 (Large)

The polishes I used were DJ Blue My Mind, Plur-Ple, Treble Maker and the glitter topper that is called Can I Get A Untz Untz. The studs are from Born Pretty Store

DSC07548 (Large)DSC07561 (Large)

The next one was lovely even though it took some damage before I got to take the picture (meaning it got hurt right when I finished painting!), but I loved the colors so much I wanted to share it anyway. Don't hate!

DSC07576 (Large)DSC07565 (Large)

I really don't have a lot to say about the design, but it was a simple little gradient with cute accent nail and I wish I had taken better pics of it. We were going to friends and family the weekend I painted these so I didn't have a proper chance to change the nails or fix them. So sad.

Anyway, the polishes I used were China Glaze Sun Of A Peach, Glow With The Flow, Red-Y To RaveWhite On White and the glitter topper is Let The Beat Drop. The gradient was done with the sponge, and I hope to do a tutorial later on (for gradients altogether).

DSC07580 (Large)

So that kind of manis this time, the designs weren't too crazy mainly because I felt more like trying out the colors and such. I'm sorry the second one is a bit messed up, but I hope it can be a color inspo nevertheless. And for those who are afraid to do their nails or think they can't, I can tell that we all mess up with nails sometimes, it just shows you what more you can learn.

What you guys think about these manicures? Let me know in the comments!

I'm going now to have a late night movie time with my man, and tomorrow I'll be sharing bits and pieces of my bachelorette night with you. So stay tuned and I will see you tomorrow with a better post!

Have a lovely weekend ♥

Gradient vs. Mix'n'Match ♥

Hello darlings!

How are you all? ♥

I've been out of the blogging - and everything online because I was sick pretty much all of the last week, having a sore throat and quite a high fever, so doing anything was a challenge. That means of course that I have a ton of things to do this week (supposing to be a break but truly it's not), especially with our school project which I feel super bad I have neglected. But now, with the new energy I'm sure I will get things done pretty efficiently, starting tonight.

For blogging, I figured a nice comeback would be a nail art post. Since I haven't done my nails in a week as well, it makes me feel better to actually see some creations I've done previously. Hope you like these as well.

DSC04596 (Large)

So first up we have these gradient nails with animal print and some glitter placement. Pretty simple except for the glitter - because that takes time to work with.

DSC04603 (Large)

This wasn't one of my favorite manis, but I did like the colors and it was a good practice of techniques, so not at all a waste in that sense. I'm not saying there's much of anything wrong with these, just not so much my taste.

DSC04605 (Large)DSC04611 (Large)

The colors I used for this mani were China Glaze White On White, At Vase Value, For Audrey and Wait N Sea. The glitter is from Born Pretty Store as well as the studs, and the stamping was done with Konad plate if I remember correctly. (But if not, the plate was from Born Pretty Store as well.)

DSC04613 (Large)DSC04743 (Large)

The other one today is a combination of pink, black and silver, which I personally like a lot.

DSC04740 (Large)

I was trying to do a neat little tape thing here with the chrome polish, but that didn't work as well as I thought. I definitely need to try that again so much that I finally nail it. However many takes I need for that.

DSC04747 (Large)DSC04733 (Large)

The colors I used here were China Glaze White On White, Escaping Reality, Meet Me Under The Stars and I'd Melt For You. The rhinestones are from Born Pretty Store as well as the tapes I was trying to use.

DSC04751 (Large)

So that's all I have for you today, I'm going to get some sleep now so that I can continue catching up my workload early in the morning.

Let me know your thoughts about these creations in the comments below!

I'll be back with you as soon as I can - and this time it probably won't take a week or so. So stay tuned, I have loads of nice things in store for you!

Have a lovely day ♥

Starry vs. Glitter ♥

Hello my darlings!

How are you all today? ♥

I've been spending a lovely day at home today with my marketing homework and fruit infused water (which is my new favorite think to have between meals), which has been pretty nice. Kinda like having a new weekend right after Monday. Who wouldn't like that?

So today, I wanted to show you these two nail designs I did earlier this month. I'm daring to say I've been more inspired than before with nail art so hopefully I can produce some nice ones for you to see. But let's get to business, shall we?

DSC04375 (Large)

First up is kind of my NYE mani, but since I wore it more this month, I figured it's 2015 mani already. I really liked the sparkle and the gradient there quite a bit, and I guess it's safe to say this at least kind of looks like a themed mani.

DSC04395 (Large)DSC04391 (Large)

I gotta say that there's just something about the multicolored glitter that I love so, so much! They can make such a cool effect to a design.

DSC04399 (Large)

The polishes I used for these nails were China Glaze White On White, Grape Pop, Dune Our Thing, One Track Mind, Meet Me Under The Stars and Dancing & Prancing. The star studs are from Born Pretty Store.

DSC04383 (Large)DSC04412 (Large)

The other design is much more light and very simple. I wanted to try out something different but didn't really have the time to do wonders. So I went for this glitter mix n match and quite liked it. Especially the way the gold glitter looks with the blue,

DSC04422 (Large)DSC04425 (Large)

Apologies for the little crackles you may see in the white, I didn't have the time to photo these before the matte top coat made it's mark after over a day's wear. I have no clue what I'm doing wrong there, but if I figure it out, I will share the info.

DSC04427 (Large)

The polishes I used for these nails were China Glaze White On White, Capacity To See Beyond, Don't Be A Flake and Essie Summit Of Style.

DSC04418 (Large)

So there you have it, two nail art designs for today. I'm hoping you guys liked these, but I can promise there are better ones to come fairly soon. If you want to get sneak peeks, just follow my social media accounts for more.

Let me know what you think about these nails in the comments below!

Now, it's time for me to go relax and have a hot beverage with a TV show before bed, and tomorrow, I will be writing yet another essay for the whole damn day. Hopefully the hard spring semester will bring plenty of positive results, as I feel kinda very stressed by the work load already. But tomorrow is also pizza day for me, and I will post something about it this week. Yay for food posts?

Have a lovely day you all ♥

Let's be friends in IG!
