Blogoween: Wiccan Inspired Nails

In line with today's previous post, I bring you "witchy" nails, inspired by Wiccan symbols. Now, as it's a serious belief as any religion or such, I really don't want to offend anyone by my nail art. I just personally think Wiccan symbols look beautiful, and that they have wonderful meanings that are often ignored and made look worse than they actually are. I tried to choose symbols that could have a positive meaning for me, were I to believe in all this wholeheartedly, and my reference article can be read here. (If you're a Wiccan, or more informed about these than me, please don't hate on me if I've missed a point here. I did this mostly for the visuals but wanted to acknowledge in this post where the symbols come from.)

White and Gold Nails

It's been a while since the last nail post, so I thought it was finally time for one. I'm trying out some things seen in my Born Pretty Store Haul, and I really liked playing with the bling although really could've done even better job with them. I hope they are inspiring nevertheless.

Marble & French Mani

Hello lovelies! How are you today? ♥ I've just today realized it's already July, and that I haven't gotten enough summer looks to the blog. I will try to start correcting that tomorrow by having my hubby take some outfit photos of the daily office look (which you always can see on Instagram even if they don't make it to the blog all the time), taken that it's not storming outside or anything the whole day.

Today, I thought it would be fun to share some nail art before getting back to the travel posts - so that there would be enough content for everyone, even for those who don't care about F1 that much. So below, you can see the designs I have for you this time:

Pink Chevron & Negative Space Glitter

Hello lovelies! How are you today? ♥ I had awesome weekend with boys, and we made quite a bit of good memories while playing games and watching hockey. I never get quite as relaxed anywhere as I do when I spend time with the guys. So, in case any of you are reading this, hello, I love you all so much. Thanks for the weekend, and I can't wait for the next adventure after few weeks!

Today, I really wanted to share these two nail designs with you, so that we could maybe one day catch up on the designs - at least a bit. These are both designs I was pretty proud of, so I'm really hoping you like them too!

#31DC2015 Polka Dots & Stripes

Hello lovelies! How is your weekend going? I've been enjoying the day off and the company of my hubby, and even though the weekend has been shadowed by the events in Paris, it's been a lot fun. Which I think is what world needs, good vibes and fun - and love. So for that reason, I'm blogging today about easy-go subject with pretty pictures and as always, I'm hoping this will be a fun one for you. So let's see some nails, shall we?

My Nail Stash: Greys

Hey lovelies! How has your week started? I surprised myself yesterday by not being on a computer at all, but then got up a bit earlier today to write this little intro here and schedule this one to a humane hour of the day. (And didn't publlish it before 7 when I was writing this.) Today I wanted to share another Nail Stash post. The point of these posts is to give you a chance to see some the different colors there are out there, and to scare myself out of buying new ones. (Which so far isn't so successful, oops.)

But let's get started with it:

DSC08989 (Large)
From left to right, all by China Glaze:

Razzle Me, Dazzle Me is a part of Glitz, Bitz 'n Pieces collection, and although it's supposed to be light pink and black, the pink is so pale I totally sort this to greys. And yes, I will be a bit irrational with my sorting since I try to sort the glitter ones under the colors as well.

Glitz N Pieces is a sister to the first one, and instead of pink, it has silver. What I didn't mention in the first one is that these polishes have different sizes of hex glitter and some bar glitter in them. It's a cool combo for glitter sandwiches and for topping solid colors as well.

Lorelei's Tiara a beautiful silver glitter polish with some light blue glitters in it. This one would be perfect for some winter/Frozen inspired manis. There's so much fine glitter that you can actually make it opaque with couple of coats. Which I love in a glitter polish.

Some Like It Haute is dark grey glitter mix with some holo silver glitters in it. Like the previous one, this also makes an opaque finish alone - although this as well needs the couple coats to not show the nail through.

Chevron In Two Ways ♥

Hello everyone!

How are you all? ♥

I've been keeping myself busy with school work, cleaning and cooking today, and I've been loving every minute of it. Though I'm just as grateful to get to go out to lunch meeting with our project crew tomorrow. I feel lucky to be working alongside such amazing group of people, and I must say I'm more into this school assignment than I ever imagined I would be. Even if it takes up loads of my time and energy. It's completely worth it.

Today, I really wanted to share some nail designs with you. These two include chevron print, which is something I would love to use more when  do more simple designs. But you know how I like to go kind of overboard with these as well as with accessories. See below for the pictures!

DSC04653 (Large)

First up is a kind of classic color combo of pink, white and gold. Very girly, and actually something I liked more than I thought I would. I was trying to also create chevron with glitter, but that wasn't as much of a success as I had hoped. But practice makes perfect so I guess I just need to try again until I nail it (pun indented).

DSC04668 (Large)DSC04664 (Large)

The chevron print was done with the help of Nail Vinyls, since I would never have a hand steady enough to create straight lines for this.

DSC04660 (Large)

The polishes I used for this mani were China Glaze Goldie But Goodie, White On White and Feel The Breeze, and Essie Rock At The Top. The diamond shaped glitters are from Born Pretty Store.

DSC04674 (Large)DSC04695 (Large)

The other mani was kind of created by accident as the one seen above totally shed the glitters of the next day after applying. I'm pretty sure I did something wrong there, but I fixed it with a new mani. I left the painted chevrons and the cold nail on, and just replaced the colorful ones. I went for the easy go-to look, which for me is the glitter gradient. (I feel that's always a safe choice.)

DSC04718 (Large)DSC04705 (Large)

The polishes are same as above, just replaced the pink (Feel The Breeze) with China Glaze Capacity To See Beyond. The glitter polish is the Essie one mentioned above.

DSC04701 (Large)

So if you ever wonder what I do if a part of a manicure falls apart way early, or a part I like lasts longer than I thought, this is it. I try to make something new out of it (or around it, whichever you prefer).

DSC04719 (Large)

So what do you guys think about these? And do you like either one better? Let me know in the comments below!

Now, I'm going to spend some time with my man before bed. Tomorrow I need to be all energetic and ready for the project stuff, so I try to get some sleep nice and early for a chance to do some morning workout before the lunch meet. But I'll be back soon, with something non-nail-related stuff. ;)

Have a fantastic day, dolls! ♥

Starry vs. Glitter ♥

Hello my darlings!

How are you all today? ♥

I've been spending a lovely day at home today with my marketing homework and fruit infused water (which is my new favorite think to have between meals), which has been pretty nice. Kinda like having a new weekend right after Monday. Who wouldn't like that?

So today, I wanted to show you these two nail designs I did earlier this month. I'm daring to say I've been more inspired than before with nail art so hopefully I can produce some nice ones for you to see. But let's get to business, shall we?

DSC04375 (Large)

First up is kind of my NYE mani, but since I wore it more this month, I figured it's 2015 mani already. I really liked the sparkle and the gradient there quite a bit, and I guess it's safe to say this at least kind of looks like a themed mani.

DSC04395 (Large)DSC04391 (Large)

I gotta say that there's just something about the multicolored glitter that I love so, so much! They can make such a cool effect to a design.

DSC04399 (Large)

The polishes I used for these nails were China Glaze White On White, Grape Pop, Dune Our Thing, One Track Mind, Meet Me Under The Stars and Dancing & Prancing. The star studs are from Born Pretty Store.

DSC04383 (Large)DSC04412 (Large)

The other design is much more light and very simple. I wanted to try out something different but didn't really have the time to do wonders. So I went for this glitter mix n match and quite liked it. Especially the way the gold glitter looks with the blue,

DSC04422 (Large)DSC04425 (Large)

Apologies for the little crackles you may see in the white, I didn't have the time to photo these before the matte top coat made it's mark after over a day's wear. I have no clue what I'm doing wrong there, but if I figure it out, I will share the info.

DSC04427 (Large)

The polishes I used for these nails were China Glaze White On White, Capacity To See Beyond, Don't Be A Flake and Essie Summit Of Style.

DSC04418 (Large)

So there you have it, two nail art designs for today. I'm hoping you guys liked these, but I can promise there are better ones to come fairly soon. If you want to get sneak peeks, just follow my social media accounts for more.

Let me know what you think about these nails in the comments below!

Now, it's time for me to go relax and have a hot beverage with a TV show before bed, and tomorrow, I will be writing yet another essay for the whole damn day. Hopefully the hard spring semester will bring plenty of positive results, as I feel kinda very stressed by the work load already. But tomorrow is also pizza day for me, and I will post something about it this week. Yay for food posts?

Have a lovely day you all ♥

Stripes vs Silver ♥

Hey lovelies!

How are you today? ♥

I'm pretty much over the moon since (even though I try to stay the heck away from heavy subjects) we finally took a big step in Finland towards completely legalizing same sex marriage. As I'm all about loving whoever you please - as long as it doesn't hurt anyone, this is pretty big for me. But you know, it's all over media so I will not go too much into that. I'm just pro human rights, not taking any other side considering the subject.

But in today's post, I wish to show you these two new nail designs. I really loved them both and I hope you will too!

DSC03194 (Large)

First up, some leopard print, stripes and studs. I liked this unusual color combo which I wouldn't have even thought if it wasn't for the studs here. The whole manicure was built around those, and I think I did quite a nice job with them.

DSC03208 (Large)DSC03214 (Large)

After the brown nails, I had no idea what to do for the rest three. Finally I did decide on doing stripes, but now that I look at these I think it would've been fun to do some saran wrap. Maybe next time though!

DSC03202 (Large)

Shades used here were China Glaze At Vase Value, China Glaze Desert Sun, Essie Licorice and Ciaté Heirloom. As you may know, I don't usually use browns on my nails, so this is that way very different than most of my creations. The studs used are from Born Pretty Store.

DSC03201 (Large)

Then, something little more party-like.

DSC03247 (Large)

This one is a mani with lots of sparkle and all. As it is holiday season, I figured the right thing to do is to create a design that might inspire at least some of you to do silvery nails for parties. I loved this mani a lot, and even though many might say they're over the top, I personally don't think so.

DSC03269 (Large)DSC03252 (Large)

The shades I used here were China Glaze Elephant Walk, China Glaze Lorelei's Tiara and IsaDora Disco Ball. I think I was kinda inspired to do this because I actually watched Frozen for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I know, I'm so late on that train. The rhinestones I used are from Born Pretty Store.

DSC03259 (Large)

I absolutely loved the ring finger nails, somehow that all glam felt so nice for once. And, the rhinestones stayed on pretty well, even though I was afraid they would fall off right on the next day. Luckily that wasn't the case. The matte finish felt like the right one for this, just to make it a bit different. This would look gorgeous with a shiny top coat as well, but the matte one was more me.

DSC03248 (Large)

So these are my things for you today. I hope you enjoyed this post at least a little bit. ;)

What are your thoughts about these nails? Let me know in the comments below!

Tomorrow, it's time for a little Pori road trip again. I'm so excited for that as it actually means we are outside during daylight and can finally take a round of outfit pics. Yay! I can't even decide what to wear, there are so many looks I'd like to photograph but I can only wear one. First world problems, right? But anyway, I'll talk to you tomorrow, or on Sunday, depending on how long our trip takes. But follow me on social media platforms for more material, if that's what you like.

Have an amazing weekend ♥

Candy Nails ♥

Hello my lovelies!

How was your weekend? ♥

I just finished a mountain of school work - or at least that's how it felt! And now, I feel I can actually get going with a new week, and probably a ton of new work as well. But the best part is, I have a bit shorter days and even if they aren't, I get to spend them with my darling girls. I have seriously missed them, no matter how nice the girls in my this week's group were.

But anyways, as I'm trying to backup my phone so that I can then start making it faster, I figured I should probably write up a little something for you guys. So, here you can see something inspired by our relatively new curtains:

 photo DSC02519Large.jpg

A set of nails with candy print. If you don't recognize these, not to worry, as they are such a Finnish things. The interior decor print that inspired these, is Karkkipäivä (Candy Day) by Vallila Interior. Again, if you don't know, Vallila is a brand pretty well known here in Finland, and they make amazing prints for curtains and other textiles. If you are into interior stuff, you can check Vallila out here: http://www.vallilainterior.fi/en

 photo DSC02527Large.jpg photo DSC02538Large.jpg

I'm personally pretty crazy about the Karkkipäivä prints, as they remind me of my childhood. Why? Because the prints are clearly representing certain classic candies everyone in Finland has had as a child. For example, the fox print here is like the one in candies named Pihlaja (rowan), which is a candy that originally reminded the taste of the berries of that tree. Nowadays, it's much sweeter (to my taste, anyway) but still darn good.

...And my fox kinda looks like a badger but let's not bother too much about that, okay?

 photo DSC02532Large.jpg

The colors used for this design were Essie Licorice, China Glaze White On White, China Glaze Seas The Day and a random yellow polish from H&M (that isn't sold there anymore). The rhinestones are again from Born Pretty Store, and the designs have been painted with thin nail art brushes and dotting tools. No stamping included.

 photo DSC02537Large.jpg

These nails had so much to them that I really just wanted to show them on their own, without a comparison, but later on we will be back doing these in pairs so that I don't fill anyone's feed with just nail stuff. ;)

What do you think about these nails? Let me know in the comments below!

Now, I'm gonna try and get my phone backup done (it's taking ages), and in the meanwhile, I will do a new manicure. More on that hopefully tomorrow on Instagram and such, so stay tuned there. But as always, I will talk to you as soon as possible!

Have a great start for the new week ♥

Skittle vs. Vuitton ♥

Hello everybody!

How are you all? ♥

Sorry for the few days' absence and all, but I was kind of celebrating my birthday as well as my fiance's so I haven't even opened my laptop during the long weekend. Also, on Friday we had a funeral to go to, so that day I really didn't feel like blogging if you know what I mean.

Anyways, today I really wanted to show you these two nail art designs for couple of weeks ago - and with this I hope I'll get more posts up than usual since I'm again back on track with the writing. I have many nice posts in store for you, including Nail Art 101 part 2, couple of guest posts, product reviews and the regular stuff, so I really need to get on with the typing. But stay tuned later for that, and now, please enjoy this nail art post:

 photo DSC08753Large.jpg

So first up is this cute little skittle mani (or mix and match, however you prefer), where I used light blue base and added a little rainbow and some black to make it more special.

 photo DSC08772Large.jpg

With this mani, I was happy to use the Essie Belugaria for the accent nail. It's such a cool black texture polish with glitter, and it looks absolutely perfect to me.

 photo DSC08761Large.jpg photo DSC08755Large.jpg

The other polishes I used were China Glaze At Vase Value, Grass Is Lime Greener, Sweet Hook and Glitz N Pieces. The studs I used are from Born Pretty Store.

 photo DSC08771Large.jpg photo DSC08806Large.jpg

The other mani today is much more subtle, and not necessarily something I really like. But I felt like learning some stamping again, so I took out the stamping plates and some gold polishes and tried to do something somewhat classy.

 photo DSC08810Large.jpg

I realized only watching these pics that the images didn't really interpret to the photos that much, but I hope you can recognize the famous print that is made by Louis Vuitton. The image made me think of the well-known brown bags, so I figured I would create something inspired by that.

 photo DSC08826Large.jpg photo DSC08816Large.jpg

And one with a bit of a different light. The polishes I used were China Glaze I'm Not Lion, Fast Track and Goldie But Goodie. Stamping plate I used is from Born Pretty Store. Like I said, I wasn't maybe 100% happy with these, but then again, you can't always have a great success. And I think some of you enjoy seeing more neutral/wearable nail art.

 photo DSC08831Large.jpg

So that's it for today, two very different manis in my opinion, and both of them at least somewhat nice. Hope you liked them - let me know in the comments what you think!

Now, I gotta head out to have a little shopping trip in IKEA and have a nice lunch with my boo before heading to work. Tomorrow is my fiance's birthday, so you guys get to enjoy a guest post as I need to be having a nice time with my man before my work shift. But later this week, I will be posting a new outfit post and other nice things, so keep checking in or follow this blog/me in Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or Bloglovin' so you won't miss any updates!

Have a fabulous day ♥
