Hey lovelies,
And Happy weekend to you all ♥
This week I feel like I have not been blogging as much as I would've liked to, but oh well... I just can't stay inside because of the fabulous weather. :D
Today, however, I dug through my photo archives, and noticed I hadn't posted these fine photos, from the Saturday we spent on Pori, celebrating my fiance's favorite team winning the SM-Liiga (Finnish Hockey League) Championship for the first time in 35 years. The whole city literally went crazy - even those who don't really watch hockey or keep up with the team standings. It was cool to see everyone so hyped - but as a hardcore hockey fan, I think this attitude (which is pretty usual) where you don't like the team if they keep losing, and become the biggest fan when they win, is pretty much bulls**t. No offense to anyone, still. It's good to show your support at least after the team wins something big, that's truly better than nothing. I'm just opinionated, don't mind it.
Anywho, it's better I don't blabber too much. Instead, let the pictures talk to you more.
To the marketplace of Pori, thousands of people were gathered to celebrate their team. I swear I have never seen as many people on that city at was (or even combined) before that. So needless to say, it was a shock. But the atmosphere was astonishing, and I only hope I can give even a piece of it to you through photos.
Feel the heat? Everyone was eager to see the players who had made this possible.
The team - don't ask who is who, I'm no good with this particular team... (I root for completely other one, hehe.)
Seriously, there were so many red flags it was nearly a sea of them. (Who else has Billy Talent's "Red Flad" playing inside their head after that? Anyone?)
And of course we had to get close enough to take a couple of pics of the stars themselves - the players.
The absolute hunk of the team, Michael Ryan ♥ (Even if the pen there looks like it's going straight into his nose.)
One other thing that truly made me smile was that the people were dressed up a lot for the occasion. Many red and black outfits were spotted at the event
And of course the little girl in me couldn't resist the dress-up, so I did my best camouflaging within the mass of fans of Ässät. And this was my take on the hockey fan theme:
Red jeans: Mango Black top: Gina Tricot Leather jacket: H&M Studded belt: Mango Hat: Porin Ässät fan shop Scarf: borrowed from fiance Golden Bracelets: Nelly.com Leopard bracelet: Bijou Brigitte Necklace: SpiritStore Bird ring: SpiritStore Biker boots: Ebay
I built the look around red, black and gold - red and black being the team colors, and gold symbolizing the championship. I apologize for the horrible light in the pics, I should invest on extra flash some day.... Once again I tried to combine rock chic to the look, but it's up to you whether or not it works. ;)
Random shot of fan products. I kinda really like their theme.
But, that's all I have now. So, the outfit: Yay or nay? And, have you been to celebrations like that?
I need to go get my beauty sleep now, I have a thing to attend tomorrow (and a day after), but I'll get back to blogging on Sunday evening!
Have a fantastic weekend, everyone ♥
Blog ya later,
xoxo
