Stripes vs Silver ♥

Hey lovelies!

How are you today? ♥

I'm pretty much over the moon since (even though I try to stay the heck away from heavy subjects) we finally took a big step in Finland towards completely legalizing same sex marriage. As I'm all about loving whoever you please - as long as it doesn't hurt anyone, this is pretty big for me. But you know, it's all over media so I will not go too much into that. I'm just pro human rights, not taking any other side considering the subject.

But in today's post, I wish to show you these two new nail designs. I really loved them both and I hope you will too!

First up, some leopard print, stripes and studs. I liked this unusual color combo which I wouldn't have even thought if it wasn't for the studs here. The whole manicure was built around those, and I think I did quite a nice job with them.

After the brown nails, I had no idea what to do for the rest three. Finally I did decide on doing stripes, but now that I look at these I think it would've been fun to do some saran wrap. Maybe next time though!

Shades used here were China Glaze At Vase Value, China Glaze Desert Sun, Essie Licorice and Ciaté Heirloom. As you may know, I don't usually use browns on my nails, so this is that way very different than most of my creations. The studs used are from Born Pretty Store.

Then, something little more party-like.

DSC03247 (Large)

This one is a mani with lots of sparkle and all. As it is holiday season, I figured the right thing to do is to create a design that might inspire at least some of you to do silvery nails for parties. I loved this mani a lot, and even though many might say they're over the top, I personally don't think so.

The shades I used here were China Glaze Elephant Walk, China Glaze Lorelei's Tiara and IsaDora Disco Ball. I think I was kinda inspired to do this because I actually watched Frozen for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I know, I'm so late on that train. The rhinestones I used are from Born Pretty Store.

I absolutely loved the ring finger nails, somehow that all glam felt so nice for once. And, the rhinestones stayed on pretty well, even though I was afraid they would fall off right on the next day. Luckily that wasn't the case. The matte finish felt like the right one for this, just to make it a bit different. This would look gorgeous with a shiny top coat as well, but the matte one was more me.

So these are my things for you today. I hope you enjoyed this post at least a little bit. ;)

What are your thoughts about these nails? Let me know in the comments below!

Tomorrow, it's time for a little Pori road trip again. I'm so excited for that as it actually means we are outside during daylight and can finally take a round of outfit pics. Yay! I can't even decide what to wear, there are so many looks I'd like to photograph but I can only wear one. First world problems, right? But anyway, I'll talk to you tomorrow, or on Sunday, depending on how long our trip takes. But follow me on social media platforms for more material, if that's what you like.

Have an amazing weekend ♥

Purple vs. Orange

Happy Friday loves!

I hope you're all doing fine today ♥

We just received our visitors K and her man, and had a late dinner with them. From now on, there will be a weekend-long radio silence (except for a short post tomorrow), as I will concentrate on entertaining  our guests. If you want to, you can tag along on our weekend via Instagram (@silvertigo) where I'll be posting little bits and pieces on the way.

But now, today's subject: Nails. Again, I have two different manicures, and I would like to hear your thoughts about them. ;)

First up, simple deep purple manicure with some rhinestones.

The polish used here is China Glaze Charmed, I'm Sure. Can you believe I used only one color in a manicure? Me neither.

 photo DSC04693Large.jpg

See the difference between the shine of the clear rhinestone and the colorful ones? It's because the clear is made for nail art, and the colorful ones are not - they're just normal craft glam. Like I've mentioned before, they don't behave nearly as well with nail polish.

With the other mani, we'll go to very different colors. The gorgeous neon orange felt like a perfect pair for silver glitter and glam.

 photo DSC04823Large.jpg

Again, I played with simplicity, just some glitter and rhinestones.

 photo DSC04828Large.jpg

The polishes used here are China Glaze Sun Of A Peach, China Glaze Gossip Over Gimlets and Essie Set In Stones. I personally love how sunny and bright Sun Of A Peach is, and it is such a perfect summer color - but for me, it works in fall as well.

So, too different manis, in very different colors. And now, I wanna hear from you:

What do you guys think about these manis, and which one you like the best? Also: What are you wearing in your nails this weekend? ♥

I'm off now, to spend a lovely weekend with wonderful people!

Hope you'll have a fabulous weekend! ♥

Blog ya later,

Simple Designs

Hey babes!

I hope you're all doing well today. :)

I'm personally fighting a cold with a teacup and lots of food, and also writing some of my school assignments. I guess these next 8 weeks or so are gonna be pretty hectic, so if I'm sometimes gone longer than usual, it's just school. Don't worry. :)

(Though, I try to get some writing done beforehand as I still have so many posts in store for you - and I get more and more photographed every week. How will I ever catch up? :D)

So today, I'm sharing a couple more manicures here with you. Both of these are quite simple and girly, and I think they both were super fun to do.

 photo DSC08919.jpg

First one is three coats of Essie Muchi Muchi, topped with China Glaze Fairy Dust and stamped with Konad plate, using Essie Licorice as the stamping color.

 photo DSC08913.jpg

I love the Muchi Muchi so much, it's a fantastic girly shade, and it is also very neutral, so it's perfect for any girl out there. It's such a sheer polish that you really need three coats for it to show properly, but for a French mani, one slightly thicker coat will surely do.

 photo DSC08915.jpg

I didn't have the proper chance to take a daylight picture of this mani, so the CG Fairy Dust doesn't really show here. It's more gorgeous polish than the photos tell you.

 photo DSC08918.jpg

Notice how I used PS3 controller for pose rather than nail polish bottle? I'm still in love with my pink one. Did I mention I kicked boys' ass in Tekken the other day? Well, I did. :D

 photo DSC09153.jpg

The second mani is a bit more colorful, with my ultimate favorite print leopard in it. Though, am I the only one who gets more of a cow print vibe from that? Anyway...

 photo DSC09157.jpg

I used Essie Mint Candy Apple, Essie Licorice, Essie Blanc, and Sally Hansen Sweetie Pie. The Mint Candy Apple is one of my favorite mint-shade polishes ever, and I could literally put it anywhere!

 photo DSC09159.jpg

So here you have it, two very simple little manicures. I'm just starting to work on a new manicure/nail tutorial,  which is one of those you guys have requested. Can you guess what it will be?

And as always, I'm curious: How do you like these nails? ♥

Have a fabulous week, lovelies!

Simple Holo Nails & Animal Print Rainbow

Hey lovelies!

Happy Friday! ♥

I hope you're all doing fine today - and having fun plans for the weekend. Today me and my fiance had a little dinner & movie date, and we had so much fun. The rest of the night, we're watching TV, playing some video games, and enjoying each other's company. Gotta love free nights.

Today's post is once again all about nails, I have two manicures for you, and I hope you will like them!

Photobucket

The first one is a holo manicure with Make Up Store hologram polish. I must say, I have way too few hologram polishes, but as they are usually only sold on indie polish shops online, it's quite impossible for me to get them. :P Well, maybe later in life.

Photobucket

I thought these were fun with the rhinestones and all. Simple design, yet quite classy and sparkly result.

Photobucket

And here are couple of shots without flash, in the daylight. It shows the true color rather than the holo effect. :)

Photobucket

And the other one is a bit more colorful - you know how I like my colors, right?

Photobucket

Now, I did these because I wanted to practice my gradient, but also because I had this fabulous loose glitter I wanted to test. The result was kinda fun, I think.

Photobucket

I believe I'll be doing more these colorful manicures when Spring comes closer, so if there are some color combos you'd like to see - or if you want a tutorial on gradient nails, let me know.

Photobucket

That's all for now, I'm going to play with my man now, and then get to bed quite early so that we can pack the whole day tomorrow. ;)

Did you like these manicures? What kind of nails are you rocking today?

I hope each and everyone of you is having a fabulous weekend! ♥

xoxo
