Rainbow Tips & Black With Gold

Hello lovelies! How are you today? ♥ The week is halfway done already, and I'm kinda very excited for that. The weekend will include sports (F1, ice hockey) and people I love, so it should be good. Also tomorrow, it's 25 days until the big trip. I'm so, so excited. I can't wait to tell you a bit more but I have to wait for couple of things to arrive before that.

Today, I'll be showing you nail art from January. (I know, I'm so behind!) Luckily these designs aren't too themed, so you could absolutely wear these any given day. Like today, maybe.

Gold Details vs Kitties ♥

Hello my darlings!

How was your weekend? ♥

I was actually planning to blog yesterday, but life had other plans and my anxious little head decided to throw a 12-hour long panic attack on me. Yeah, I have tendency to anxiety when I get super stressed. Not necessarily a big deal but not too comfortable either. But luckily we had fun night with the boys so that made me feel loads better. Also, I filmed a nail art video - though only after editing I can tell if that is any useful to anyone, other than for me as I learn how to edit.

Tomorrow, I need to step outside my comfort zone and get to interviewing random people in the city. That's for a school project as we have to do a research for a company to pass a class. All fun, except for the interviewing. Not that I don't like people, but I get easily socially anxious. Even though I usually don't show it and never really talk about it with people. But hey, I told you now, so, friends?

Anyway, for today, I planned I'd share these nail art designs with you. And this also serves for practice on how to use a Flickr account. I'm figuring I should try to use that too, as so many bloggers seem to get better quality out of that than they do with Photobucket. I will go on and see about that. But let's get to the pics!

DSC03146 (Large)

So the first manicure today is this dark red (it looks black, but let me assure you, it's red) base with pretty gold details. I did this solely to try out the leaf gold flakes, but it came out kind good!

DSC03140 (Large)DSC03139 (Large)

The only polish shade I used is China Glaze Crimson, which just might be my favorite autumn shade for nails. The striping tape, rhinestones and the leaf gold are from Born Pretty Store.

DSC03137 (Large)

I really, really loved wearing this mani, although the tape starting coming off the next day. I'm so bad with it. But hey, something I can learn to be better at.

DSC03133 (Large)

The second one is not as autumny, but at least as cute one.

DSC03168 (Large)

This one is a combination of pastel blue, glitter sandwich and cute decals. This was my first time using decals, and I can definitely recommend them to anyone who struggles with painting pictures on nails, but would still want to have more than plain colors or like stripes or something. They are so easy to use, and they stay on perfectly, at least once you add a top coat.

DSC03163 (Large)DSC03160 (Large)

These decals are from Born Pretty Store, and the polishes I used are China Glaze At Vase Value and It's A Trap-Eze! Both of the polishes have been used in so many of my manis, and will probably be seen many times more. Hope you guys still love them as well.

DSC03156 (Large)

I absolutely loved this kitty mani, I have even read the manga where the cat, Chi, is from. And if you haven't seen it, you should. It's adorable! And if you check it out, you will totally understand why I had to have these - if you don't get it already.

DSC03148 (Large)

That's everything I have for you today. I hope you enjoyed this somewhat quick post, and yet again, sorry for giving the silent treatment over the weekend. But I had such a great time with my boys that I wouldn't have exchanged it to time alone on the laptop, which I know you understand.

Still, I wanna know what you think about this post, so let me know in the comments! ♥

Like I mentioned, tomorrow I will be somewhat stuck with my school stuff, but I will try to get something written on Tuesday the latest (we have interviews then as well, but I'm sure we will get things done in timely fashion). I'm so bummed we don't have the proper time to photograph when there's daylight, but I try to make the most of it on weekends and so on. But don't hate me if I don't get too many outfits up, or at least ones with nice outside background. I try to compensate with lifestyle posts though!

But now, I must stop blogging and start getting ready to bed. Talk to you soon though!

Have a lovely start for your week ♥

Skittle vs. Vuitton ♥

Hello everybody!

How are you all? ♥

Sorry for the few days' absence and all, but I was kind of celebrating my birthday as well as my fiance's so I haven't even opened my laptop during the long weekend. Also, on Friday we had a funeral to go to, so that day I really didn't feel like blogging if you know what I mean.

Anyways, today I really wanted to show you these two nail art designs for couple of weeks ago - and with this I hope I'll get more posts up than usual since I'm again back on track with the writing. I have many nice posts in store for you, including Nail Art 101 part 2, couple of guest posts, product reviews and the regular stuff, so I really need to get on with the typing. But stay tuned later for that, and now, please enjoy this nail art post:

 photo DSC08753Large.jpg

So first up is this cute little skittle mani (or mix and match, however you prefer), where I used light blue base and added a little rainbow and some black to make it more special.

 photo DSC08772Large.jpg

With this mani, I was happy to use the Essie Belugaria for the accent nail. It's such a cool black texture polish with glitter, and it looks absolutely perfect to me.

 photo DSC08761Large.jpg photo DSC08755Large.jpg

The other polishes I used were China Glaze At Vase Value, Grass Is Lime Greener, Sweet Hook and Glitz N Pieces. The studs I used are from Born Pretty Store.

 photo DSC08771Large.jpg photo DSC08806Large.jpg

The other mani today is much more subtle, and not necessarily something I really like. But I felt like learning some stamping again, so I took out the stamping plates and some gold polishes and tried to do something somewhat classy.

 photo DSC08810Large.jpg

I realized only watching these pics that the images didn't really interpret to the photos that much, but I hope you can recognize the famous print that is made by Louis Vuitton. The image made me think of the well-known brown bags, so I figured I would create something inspired by that.

 photo DSC08826Large.jpg photo DSC08816Large.jpg

And one with a bit of a different light. The polishes I used were China Glaze I'm Not Lion, Fast Track and Goldie But Goodie. Stamping plate I used is from Born Pretty Store. Like I said, I wasn't maybe 100% happy with these, but then again, you can't always have a great success. And I think some of you enjoy seeing more neutral/wearable nail art.

 photo DSC08831Large.jpg

So that's it for today, two very different manis in my opinion, and both of them at least somewhat nice. Hope you liked them - let me know in the comments what you think!

Now, I gotta head out to have a little shopping trip in IKEA and have a nice lunch with my boo before heading to work. Tomorrow is my fiance's birthday, so you guys get to enjoy a guest post as I need to be having a nice time with my man before my work shift. But later this week, I will be posting a new outfit post and other nice things, so keep checking in or follow this blog/me in Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or Bloglovin' so you won't miss any updates!

Have a fabulous day ♥

Detailed vs. Simple ♥

Hey lovelies!

How are you all? ♥

Who else watched the Olympics this weekend? I was so excited about the ice hockey medal games - and for those who don't follow sports, team Finland won bronze against team USA which was quite an achievement for the team, even if we had Selänne, Timonen, Salo and other awesome players. I'm so proud of the team, it was great experience for the young players and a great way from some of the older ones to end their journey in the national team. So again, thank you team Finland, thank you Teemu Selänne, and Tuukka Rask, you rock! Awesome playing.

Also I'm so happy for team Canada for winning the gold, totally deserved win!

Luckily, after a week it's time for the Oscars, so I don't have the time to be upset about the Olympic hockey to be over. I need to make some great food and such for the event - hopefully I can make a themed post before Sunday about the snacks and stuff so maybe you can enjoy the same things I do. ;)

But anyways, now to the real topic today, nails:

 photo DSC06807Large.jpg

First up is this pretty detailed burgundy-gold-navy mani I created last month. And it's appropriately shot with a golden jewelry, haha.

 photo DSC06818Large.jpg

I'm not sure where I was going with this mani, but apparently I tried many things that happily go together well.

 photo DSC06815Large.jpg

 photo DSC06800Large.jpg

The polishes I used for this mani are Essie Thigh High, China Glaze Goldie But Goodie, Essie Liqorice and Ciaté Power Dressing. The giraffe print is from a Born Pretty Store plate QA25, and the gold studs as well as the hexagon glitters are also from Born Pretty Store. And I wanna remind you, if you go and buy from there, take advantage of the discount code JVNT10 to get 10 percent off your purchase. ;) (It's good everywhere on their site, not just for nail art or fashion items!)

 photo DSC06809Large.jpg

 photo DSC07029Large.jpg

Our next contestant is this very simple purple mani, where I used different glitter polishes and made them matte so that they wouldn't be so typical glitter manis.

 photo DSC07040Large.jpg

 photo DSC07038Large.jpg

I absolutely love the colors here, they work pretty nicely together. And this shows that sometimes simple works even more nicely than detailed. I think.

 photo DSC07035Large.jpg

The polishes used here are China Glaze Lovely Lilac, China Glaze Your Present Required, China Glaze Charmed, I'm Sure, China Glaze Be Merry, Be Bright, Essie A Cut Above and L'Oreal Color Riche Confettis.

 photo DSC07037Large.jpg

So that's all I have for you today, now the only question remains:

Which one you like better, the detailed, or the simple glitter sammich one? Let me know in the comments! ♥

Now I'm gonna go watch Lord of the Rings with my fiance, who has never seen it (can you believe??). I'll be back tomorrow with another post, so see you then!

Have a fabulous day! ♥

Colorful Glitter vs. Gold Stripes

Hi lovelies!

How are you all? ♥

I've been busy as usual, with work, life and such. This post was supposed to see the light of day yesterday, but better late than never, right? I've been doing little more organizing at home, and I hope I get to show you some of that soon enough. ;) The reason for that is that as the weather is getting seriously colder, and I have to spend more time inside, so the place needs to look extra nice. Today, we got our first glimpse of winter as it snowed outside. Though, it didn't stay, yet, but it reminded us that the cold season is seriously starting.

Anyways, today I wanted to show you some more nail art. Both manicures today are somewhat geometric, but otherwise totally different.

 photo DSC04559Large.jpg

First, a mint base, triangles, and a milky glitter polish.

 photo DSC04561Large.jpg

 photo DSC04563Large.jpg

I actually loved the glitter polish so much more than I thought I would, it's so unique compared to the other ones I have. But that's just because it's hard and expensive to get the gorgeous indie glitter bombs here in Finland, as most of the best indie makers are based in the US. But, once I have a full-time job, I'm sure I can at least get few. Or, after No Buy months such as this one.

 photo DSC04567Large.jpg

The polishes used here are Essie Mint Candy Apple, China Glaze It's A Trap-eze and Kiss Nail Art Paint in turquoise. I also used tape to create the triangles more neatly.

 photo DSC04568Large.jpg

 photo DSC04636Large.jpg

The other one today is a tape manicure as well - though with this one I simply used striping tape. This is one of the things you can easily do if you want something different, but don't feel like painting something complicated. I promise that everyone can do this, all you need is a striping tape, scissors, two polishes, and a little time.

 photo DSC04637Large.jpg

 photo DSC04638Large.jpg

This kind of manicure is great for any place, and any time, since it's basically just a French manicure with a twist. You can do this with any colors, as long as the one for the tips has enough pigment to cover the other one.

 photo DSC04642Large.jpg

The polishes I used for this were Essie Muchi Muchi and China Glaze Gossip Over Gimlets. I love the China Glaze one, the gold color is simply amazing. I can't wait to use this color again, and I really need to try this for stamping.

 photo DSC04647Large.jpg

So, that kind of simple designs today.

What do you think of these manicures? And which one is your favorite? ♥

Now, I gotta go plan my polish reorganizing tomorrow, as well as get some tea for late night blog reading, so I'll be back later with another post. Stay tuned!

Have a fun weekend!

Blog ya later,

xoxo

Pink Nails x2 ♥

Hi lovelies

How are you all today? ♥

I had a great day, I once again started it with a jog, and in the afternoon I had a date with my friend L. It was so good to get to gossip about things and just get a laugh with a girlfriend, I totally needed it. Thanks L, you rock! ♥

Anyway, today's post is just a quite short one with nail art pictures - as I'll have a longer one coming up tomorrow or the day after. As usual, I have two looks for you here, hope you like them!

 photo DSC00620Large.jpg

First one is a bright pink mani with gold glitter. Again I was doing a leopard print, since I just love it so much.

 photo DSC00624Large.jpg

The polishes I used were China Glaze Escaping Reality (two coats over a white polish), China Glaze I'm Not Lion (two coats over a random gold polish) and Essie Licorice.

 photo DSC00629Large.jpg

I was pretty happy with these nails, they have all the great elements ;) My cuticles aren't at their prettiest here, so sorry about that!

 photo DSC00630Large.jpg

And for once, the two manicures have something in common. They're both pink!

 photo DSC00635Large.jpg

...this one just isn't quite as bright. So here's a little half moon mani I made with white (Essie Blanc) and soft pink (Sally Hansen Sweetie Pie).

 photo DSC00639Large.jpg

Again, sorry about the cuticles, they were in horrible shape back then, but I've gotten them better since.

 photo DSC00641Large.jpg

I should've done these with the help of stickers, but I tried to practice my free hand painting - you can never do that too much! Also, my top coat was running low, so you can see pretty ugly stripes here and there :P Lesson there: when you have a fast dry top coat, make sure there's enough of it before using or it'll end up looking nasty!

But, your turn: What do you think about the manicures here? And, what are you wearing in your nails today? ♥

This girl is off to bed now, but I'll get back as soon as I can!

Have a fantastic day ♥¨

Blog ya later,

xoxo

Ciaté Nail Art

Heya lovelies!

How are you today? ♥

I'm having an extremely busy day once again, which is why I had written this one beforehand for you to read. I can't believe that in couple of days we will be already living in our new apartment! To make everything easier, I'm cutting classes this week so I can use the time for packing. And no, I don't recommend cutting classes for you, my younger readers, and I assure you, I'll be keeping up with the study material after the move when I will have the time for that. ;)

This week is also different because I will be having nude/bare nails for the whole week (from Monday to Sunday) to let my nails breathe - but that is why I have these nail posts in store for you. Even if I don't have the time to create anything for posts for one week, that still doesn't stop me from blogging. And that's a security I love.

Now, today's post, as the title suggest, is about nail art I've done with Ciaté products. Some of you might remember the calendar I had for this Christmas (if you want, you can see it here!), and might remember it was full of nail art stuff. I was very, very curious to try Ciaté, as I had only heard about the polishes. They are so pricey to get in Finland that I haven't been able to get them. Until I got the calendar.

(And speaking about nail polishes and prices, I might just have the perfect thing for you all later on. I'll be testing an online store that sells one of my favorite brands on great prices - and I'll be sharing the whole experience with you next month or so. Stay tuned!)

Photobucket

First up is this girly little mani I did with baby pink Ciaté polish, topping it with some Konad stamping, and creating a nice sparkly accent nail with two silver polishes.

Photobucket

I've somehow taken my nail art down a little bit - not as many colors and details in one mani, and more classic elements. I don't know if it's affected by the simple and classic Spring fashion, but does that really matter? :D

Photobucket

I wish the stamp would've been more visible - later I discovered it's more efficient to use other than Konad polishes.

Photobucket

The other mani today was even more simple than the first one. I used this gorgeous black polish with gold glitter in it, and topped off the accent nail with a golden crackling polish from MUA.

Photobucket

Photobucket

This was one of those rare occasions I tried to take a daylight shot for a comparison to the ones taken with flash. I don't know if this really gives anything more to you, but I decided to add it in anyways.

Photobucket

So, two simple manicures, both based on amazing Ciaté polishes.

But, what do you think about these two manicures? ♥

I try to write another post or two this week, but no promises as I'm extremely busy - like you already know. If nothing else, I'll be back on Monday.

I hope everyone is having a fun week!

Blog ya later,

xoxo
