Spikes On My Shoulders

Heya babes!

I hope you're all having a fun Monday ♥

I'm finally off from school, and can focus on my own things for a change. That's amazing, and I like it a lot. And the first thing I wanted to do is to have a sort of detox week - to get the stress-based filth away from my body, along with a little liquid weight. I'll make a post about it next week, telling how it worked for me.

Has any of you tried detox lately? Was it good for you?

Today, I'm finally sharing the last outfit with my old hair - so starting tomorrow, you can expect posts with the new hair that I've already showed you here.

But, without further ado, to the outfit I wore to school few weeks ago.

Blazer: H&M Spiked Shoulder Pads: Boohoo Top: Gina Tricot Jeans: New Yorker Biker Boots: Ebay Necklace: SpiritStore Hat: Gina Tricot Bracelets: Nelly.com Bag: Mango

Sporting my quite new blazer from H&M, but spiced it up with some little gold elements. The spiked shoulder pads were such an amazing find from Boohoo, and I love how they add an extra edge to the look. Also, the boots are here to stay, I'm completely in love with them. Though, as the weather gets warmer, I'm more drawn to the ballet flats and heels - like probably most girls out there! :D

So guys, what do you think about the look here? Yay or nay?

I'm off now, to do household chores, work out, and plan my eating for the first days of detox. ;) I'll be back very soon with another post, though!

Have a fabulous day ♥

Blog ya later,

Spring Nails

Hey lovelies!

Happy Tuesday ♥

How are you all doing this week?

I'm eagerly waiting for the weekend, since it's going to be a long one, and I can enjoy it fully - as long as I work hard on my school assignments these few days before that. I love how it's getting more sunny and warm every day, and that also makes me wanna dress and do my nails more Spring-likely. (I think that's not even a real word... Oh, well.)

So, as the title suggest, today I'll be showing you some nail art once again. These are something I created for the first really sunny days of this Spring.

Care to take a look? Here we go!

 photo DSC09246.jpg

So first up are these fun polka dot nails inspired by Samantha from PackAPunchPolish, she is super talented and extremely nice, and those of you who love amazing nail art should totally check out her nail blog! ♥

 photo DSC09248.jpg

So, I made mine with warm, bright colors, and I thought the outcome was really nice, although somehow the striping tape did create some nasty lines in between. Well, you can't create perfect without a lot of exercise, right?

 photo DSC09250.jpg

The colors I used for this were a random bright orange by H&M, Sun-Kissed by China Glaze, Speed Dial by Ciaté, and Escaping Reality by China Glaze (which shows off weirdly purple... lol)

 photo DSC09251.jpg

The other mani was inspired by a picture I saw while searching Google for inspiration, and here's what I created:

 photo DSC09290.jpg

Butterfly wings with a very subtle ombre effect. I hadn't tried this before and was surprised how easy this was. I think this would make a fun tutorial post, what do you think? (of course, you can find video tutorials from YouTube right away if you wish :D)

 photo DSC09292.jpg

It was the first time in a long while that I used China Glaze Aquadelic (bottle in the pictures), and I have to say I had forgotten how nice it actually looks.

 photo DSC09294.jpg

Also, sorry about the weird shape of the index finger, I didn't wanna cut it down just then so I tried to make it look humane despite the corner dropping off... Not a huge success.

 photo DSC09293.jpg

So, here are the nails for this days post.

What do you guys think? And, what are you rocking on your nails today? ♥

Now, I need to get back with my studies, but later this week, I will have an outfit post, new home post, and another That's Who I am post for you, at least. If you missed the first That's Who I am, you can read it here to learn random facts about me.

Have a lovely week, sweeties! ♥

Blog ya later,

Tutorial for galaxy nails

Hey babes!

Happy Wednesday ♥ How are you doing today?

I'm practically buried under a pile of school deadlines, but I wrote this piece to you over the weekend so I wouldn't have to be in silence the whole week. Now, you all remember the galaxy nails from the 31-day Manicure Challenge? Well, I promised a tutorial, and I'm sorry it took me so long, but, here it is!

Galaxy nails

First, choose your desired color scheme. I went for purple this time, with a little hint of blue. The pic above was the inspiration, and then it was time to take out the colors.

 photo DSC09671.jpg

I chose a range of purple, pink and blue, and reserved a white polish and glitter for detailing. Note! You'll also need a thin brush, sponge, dotting tool and nail polish remover.

 photo DSC09674.jpg

Start off with painting the base for your art, using the base coat (not pictured). Then, paint your nails with the desired base color. I needed a dark plum base, but as I don't have a polish of that color, I made a shade myself, using Essie - Licorice and Ciaté Mini - Cabaret.

 photo DSC09677.jpg

So, this is the shade I had as the base.

 photo DSC09678.jpg

Next, take the sponge, and your white polish. I used Essie - Blanc.

 photo DSC09682.jpg

Sponge out random shapes to each nail. This will help the lighter colors to show on top of the dark base.

 photo DSC09684.jpg

Take out the bright pink. I used two different ones, Gosh - Pink Lady (in the pictures), and China Glaze - Escaping Reality.

 photo DSC09686.jpg

So, use the darker pink first, and sponge it on the edge of the white shapes.

 photo DSC09688.jpg

Next, take the lighter pink, and sponge it in the middle of the white shapes, starting from the edge of the other pink. Don't worry about covering all the white, it gives the art more dimension if the white shows somewhere.

 photo DSC09691.jpg

Now, take your blue polish. I used China Glaze - Splish Splash.

 photo DSC09692.jpg

Sponge the blue to the edge that is still left white. You should now have somewhat gradient finish on your nails, in various shapes.

Then take out the white again, and with a small dotting tool, create "stars" (dots) randomly around the nails. Then, using the thin brush, paint few more cross-like stars.

 photo DSC09694.jpg

Finish off with a glitter polish or two. I used Rimmel London - Disco Ball and China Glaze - Fairy Dust. Add the glitter wherever you think your design should have more stars.

 photo DSC09699.jpg

Add a top coat to protect your design, and clean up the cuticles with nail polish remover. And, you're done!

 photo DSC09696.jpg

So, what do you all think? Cool or not? And, should I do more of these tutorials for you? ♥

If you have tried this, or will try it after this, it would be fun to get some links to see your creations :)

I'll be posting something again as soon as I can, but until then:

Have a lovely week, everyone! ♥

Blog ya later,

xoxo

Head2Toe Beauty Haul

Hey lovelies! ♥

How are you all?

I'm currently battling a stomach flu (so cool, huh?), but I thought it would cheer me up to write you about one of my favorite things. Nail polish.

Not too long ago, I saw a huge polish haul by Sam in PackAPunchPolish, in the video she told she had got this insane pile of China Glaze polishes from a place called Head2Toe Beauty. As a nail polish junkie that I am, I naturally had to check the place out myself. I was pleasantly surprised how affordable the polishes are, even after the added P&P fees! So, I placed an order, and waited.

After a week or so, the mailman rang my doorbell, and handed me a box. In the box, in the middle of loads of packing material, were my 9 brand new Chine Glaze polishes.

 photo DSC09439.jpg

As you can see, I was very into neons while placing the order. I have been playing with nearly all of them after this, and can't wait to figure out more designs with these beauties.

 photo DSC09443.jpg
Left to right: Glitz'n Pieces, Escaping Reality, Flip Flop Fantasy, In The Lime Light, Sun-Kissed
 photo DSC09441.jpg
Left to right: Sun-Kissed, I'm With The Lifeguard, Splish Splash, Surfin' For Boys, Razzle Me Dazzle Me
Now, wanna see them individually? Here goes:

Glitz'n Pieces

 photo DSC09385.jpg

Glitter polish with black and silver glitter in it. Perfect for jelly sammich manicures, but also fabulous for topping off simple manicures. This polish is from Glitz'n Pieces collection.

 photo DSC09388.jpg

It looks like this in a swatch stick. Still not sure how I'm gonna use this, but I'll figure it out.

Razzle Me Dazzle Me

 photo DSC09391.jpg

Similar as Glitz'n Pieces, but a bit warmer shade, as the glitters are pinkish/copper instead of silver. This one, also from Glitz'n Pieces collection.

 photo DSC09394.jpg

As you can see, no huge difference in between the swatches.

Sun-Kissed

 photo DSC09396.jpg

A super bright neon yellow, that has a cute shimmer to it. This one is quite sheer, and like usually with neons, it requires a coat of white polish underneath to get its true brightness to come up. I'm very fond of this color, and I'm sure you're going to see this one in my summer manicures.

 photo DSC09399.jpg

Swatch. Not that it shows the true brightness, but it's very close. This one is from Summer Neons 2012 collection.

I'm With The Lifeguard

 photo DSC09402.jpg

Another one from the Summer Neons collection. This is a beautiful neon green polish with a metallic shimmer to it, and which will totally look cool with tanned skin. ;) We'll see what I'll do with this.

 photo DSC09405.jpg

See the shimmer here? Absolutely gorgeous!

In The Lime Light

 photo DSC09408.jpg

This baby is part of the Wow Factor collection. It's little less shimmery than I'm With The Lifeguard, and quite a bit colder tone. This one is pretty sheer on its own, but I can't wait to test drive it over a white base, I'm sure it'll be fabulous!

 photo DSC09411.jpg

See? Very different from the first green. I need to do a half-and-half manicure with the two to properly show you the difference. ;)

Splish Splash

 photo DSC09414.jpg

Another one from the Summer Neons collection - though not so neon in my opinion, but a fabulous bright blue anyways. This one, too, is very shimmery, and I think that's a nice quality in a nail polish.

 photo DSC09416.jpg

See how bright it is? I'm sure this one will make it into many fabulous manicures!

Escaping Reality

 photo DSC09420.jpg

The most beautiful neon pink polish I've come across so far. This beauty comes from the Cirque du Soleil collection, and I think it's a must-have for any neon-loving polish addict out there. I've used this in two manicures so far, and I've loved it completely in both. Requires white polish underneath!

 photo DSC09422.jpg

Did someone say Barbie? ;)

Flip Flop Fantasy

 photo DSC09425.jpg

This one is way more neon than the pictures show, I promise to get better pictures once I get some tan on my hands. ;) This one is part of the Poolside collection, which, like Summer Neons, is full of these amazing summer colors that make you so happy just looking at them.

 photo DSC09429.jpg

Daylight shot of the swatch - still not showing the true brightness of the polish. I'll get it on film some day :D

Surfin' For Boys

 photo DSC09434.jpg

This one looks so much more orange in the photos than it actually is... Another one from the Summer Neons collection, a bright, fun coral neon polish with a beautiful shimmer to it. Very gorgeous shade I will surely use, no matter what season it is. This one is such a classic for me. ;)

 photo DSC09437.jpg

A little bit better pic of the shade. Though, like with the other neons, I will have to swatch it with the white base to get a perfect photo.

Buying from Head2Toe was a great experience for me as a customer, and I will surely buy from there again. every bottle was completely whole when they got to me, and the delivery was very fast. And to top it off, the prices are so affordable! So, if you're like me, and love CG polishes, do check out their shop and see if there's anything for you. :)

And even though I only cover China Glaze polishes here, they sell many other polish brands, as well as various beauty products, so there probably is something for anyone - just make sure your home country's customs allow importing the things, and check out the possible fees before ordering, to avoid huge additional costs. ;)

This post is NOT a collaboration, and the products were all paid with my own money. The reason I'm praising the company is that I actually genuinely liked their service a lot. Just wanted to share my thoughts with you. Thanks!

Now, time for me to go to bed and try to kick away this silly sickness!

Have a lovely week, beautiful people! ♥

Blog ya later,

xoxo
